It was how it ends.

No, at least, not for all the things they had for the entire days spent. Probably it was for some things, yet technological advance these times had make the distance seems much narrower than it really was. Because every time they looked to the adjoining window from the petite one’s, there was no Suzy present there. This is not an ad or something— I must assure you— but, the guys should have been much thankful for how it has made they could feel that she was still there with them. Their first summer should’ve been spent with her nevertheless— and they actually did though— speaking of how they made use most of their time lounging in the outspoken’s apartment— video calls really did help them by the time.

And that was how they desperately in need of each other’s presence and no one, no one, could get used of her absence. We shouldn’t talk about Kai— he had it gotten over anyway by the first month after her departure— still be the least one spoken. He could not let those aches within him get the control, she had to know that he was happy and being supportive of whatever she had to do for the sake of herself— as what she already done before on behalf of his dancing.

But— yeah, but again— it was another great thing called time, whether they like it or not, made this one distant, had eventually taking it over.

By spring, Baekhyun and Chanyeol must have prepared for their long, awaited finals. As for Sehun, his second year in the law school was even crazier than the crazy previous one, since he should attain the Master of Laws after the full first year being through. Kai, on the other side, had finally starting his dance courses. And Suzy, was also beginning her auditions here and there, in the faraway mainland.

They have been occupied with each activities by then. The guys had this usual get-together— once in a month, into two— they should’ve been, at least, thankful for the spare whiles. As for the only girl, her loads of goings-on had caused her to contact those best friends only by Christmas and whenever one of them was having a birthday.

Time passed, and suddenly it was already the end of spring by the next year…

There was a minute of stillness befell in their group chat.

Suzy Bae                              : I thought we’re good n over it

And then that was it, the utmost long-anticipated-bicker arose again…but,

Chanyeol_is_Real             : Bae

Chanyeol_is_Real             : Kai

Chanyeol_is_Real             : We’re reading all of it we need to see more argue from both sides

Bacon Lover                       : Ah these kids jinjja

Baekhyun held his stare from the iPhone screen when he heard his place’s buzzer rung. Shifting glance to the lazy-on-day-off future Law Master Sehun on the couch, he thought he should be the one to get up an open it. He was sure it was Chanyeol coming.

“Yeol, for so many times I have said to you don’t act like you’re a mothering guest just come up and get in.”

He was speaking to the intercom.

Few minutes later, the door in Baekhyun’s apartment got opened and none of the two minding the person who just came in. Baekhyun was browsing some recipes from his gadget— he planned to cook something good because today was one of those rare times the gang would spend the Saturday such like old times— and Sehun was still Sehun no matter what, reading the comic he obtained from the kid’s store near the building alley.

“Did you get the candy bar I asked on text?”

Sehun was speaking without setting off his eyes from examining the story, and the subject answered him in mere seconds.

“When did you ever personally text me for it?”

It was a young lady’s voice, way much different from the giant’s husky tone. It was very familiar one, and when Sehun got the book down from his view he almost jumped from the couch. Baekhyun realized it when the younger swiftly rushed to the direction of the doorway. He couldn’t believe he was seeing Suzy, standing there, gestured and giggling at him with her usual beamy watches. All fine-looking with her satchel, simple clothing, and tops with floral pattern as it was really springtime to all of them. He was soon joining Sehun to give her the most caring squeeze.

Chanyeol was the next person who needed extra assurance, reminding the girl was trying to let them know her arrival through the previous chat she initiated. He nearly dropped the beers pack he bought from the convenience store prior to arriving in the place.

“Should we tell Kai so that he would come home sooner?”

Chanyeol spoke when the four of them have sat in the center couch, enjoying the bucket wings provided by Baekhyun. The petite buddy had sneakily typing some stuff in his phone, without the others knowing what for.

“No, he’ll be here…” pocketed the phone, he carried on, “Sooj!”

And then, he was kept clasping Suzy, he couldn’t hold it to not being cuddly to that one girl they truly missed. She embraced him with full warmth in return. Suzy missed her noisy best friends back for sure.

“So, you’re back here cause you’re being called by— who’s that guy’s name?”

“Mark,”

Suzy replied Sehun in between their meal.

“Yeah, Mark… He really is a well-known director? How come? You guys like, just graduated last year…”

”Not that well-known but he’s partnered with this one agency. Some people are just lucky enough to reach many accomplishments in short period… And he will make this some kind of short movie festival then suddenly he reminds of working with me for a  lot times in college…you know, we got that click.”

“Will you get good money for it?” asked Baekhyun.

“Why would I come if not… I’m already a professional.”

“But you came, like, so out of the blue… Did you plan this?” resumed Chanyeol.

“Yes… I plan to get my loft back but it’s still unavailable till next week… I’ll talk to the building manager after this. Now, I’m staying at the westin—“

“Hold on, hold on…” Baekhyun halted. “You’re planning to use the loft… Are you gonna move back here?” His eyes were sparkling when talking about it.

“It depends.” She answered softly.

“Of…?”

When Sehun wanted to recommence, she eyed him by enigma, he understood in one way or another and with certainty. Hitherto, Baekhyun dragged him and Chanyeol without warning, said there was something they needed to attain from his bedroom. Leaving Suzy alone in the middle, muddled up. Turned out, it was just his mere plot because he knew Kai was arriving. The three of them stayed behind his door to eavesdrop to the two encounter.

Kai was stiffened such as a statue in the middle of huge water fountain, when he perceived that Suzy was staring at him from the living space. She was more relaxed— she was aware that each of them would not be taking her unexpected appearance in normal state since they haven’t met again for almost a year— she merely was waving a hand.

He thought what has been told was simply for another video call.

He dashed to her and gave her a quick embrace to make sure that it was really her.

“Is it you?” Kai started directly, setting aside the exasperations they had in the previous chat or whatsoever. He didn’t bother any of it.

“It’s me.” Suzy replied whilst patting his raven hair— just like the old good times, when they both was so in coziness to each other. “How are you?” She beamed and Kai still did not believe it.

“How… Why… H-how did you get here?”

“It’s quite a long story I’ve told the others earlier.” She asked back, “How was the date?”

Looking back to their history, which was not a very new thing to ask.

“It was…okay.” Kai responded shortly.

“Good for you.”

Suzy gave a light punch to his upper arm, and she took a glance to her beeping iPhone on side.

“Ah, I should go take a look to the loft, the building manager will be there in five…”

She was then up on her feet, taking her coat from the hanger, Kai was still in disbelief to get her real view by the moment.

“Will you come back here?” He blurted out.

“Yeah…” said her, “I’ll be here again after negotiating cause I don’t like staying at the hotel.”

Kai nodded as he walked her to the threshold. Suzy turned around and face him when she was already exiting. Leaning to the doorframe she casually joked, “Hey, remember the thing you said to me about finding a boyfriend? Long time ago…”

He barely raised an eyebrow, partly did not understand what she was talking about.

“I want you to do the same…” She appeared closer, “When you get a girlfriend, just make sure she doesn’t hate me.”

She smirked— in some kind of his way— before proceeding and Kai lastly was getting what she meant.

How does she still think of that?

Kai was just heading back to the center couch when he grasped Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Sehun was ready to attack him with loads of their verdicts through the previous situation.

“I didn’t know you guys were—“

“ it, Kai!” Baekhyun was folding his petite arms upon his torso, eyes full of being judgmental. “You think we left you two alone to only chit-chat… And it was not necessary.”

“Yeah… I never expect you to be so damn stupid.”

He was about to counteract Chanyeol’s harsh words, however, there was this part inside him that approved it. Trying to get some support from the same age fellow, Kai glimpsed to the palest guy in the corner.

Sehun came over to him, wrapping his lean hand on his broad shoulder, he muttered.

“How many of her do you think are in this world?”

He shook his head quietly, his mind was so disordered.

“Only one, okay… And not that many people always get the second chance, as for you, she traveled half the world again to be here. It’s your turn now, Kai.”

Kai had his orbs widened after all, as he fairly was eyeing Sehun beside. He knew the palest pal had those words very on point.

Whereas Baekhyun grabbed his chest in their opposite, saying to Chanyeol. “I’ve never been so proud of Sehun before this.”

Suzy seemed was having a good deal with the building manager when she turned around and get Kai was standing near the entrance of her vacant loft. She asked for some times for them to be alone.

“Hey…”

Kai was not that person to change a lot for the whole time they haven’t come across.

“Hey…?” She frowned, but she welcomed him to get nearby.

“To be honest,” he began it, finally, “I… I haven’t had any girlfriend, so…”

“What do you mean?”

“Do you hate yourself?” Kai replied Suzy’s question with another.

She puckered her brows, “Excuse me?”

“Yeah, just like what you said… I cannot get myself a girlfriend if she hates you…but, I don’t know if you hate yourself for it…”

Suzy bursted out her laugh and Kai was the subject to be dazed enough while getting what she did by the time. It seemed like there was nothing to be taken too seriously while they were having chances.

“You…” Kai took another step forward and quickly pulled Suzy for he landed a kiss to her roseate lips. That was then when she had gotten hush by him. She closed her eyes consequently similar of what he did, and they were immersed to that profound instant.

“So, you still love me? After all this time?”

It was more like a teasing rather than Suzy should asking it genuinely to Kai. They were still embracing each other in her center space at that point.

He smiled, although she couldn’t see it. “Yes, after all this time…”

“Alright, I love you, too.”

She hugged him tighter.

“That’s it?”

Kai seized her chin to face him.

“Yeah, what do you expect for me to say?”

Suzy squirmed in his hold, which he ducked his head into it and they both snickered at the same time. In not so later, they sensed both their phones were buzzing in each pocket.

Bacon Lover                       : Okay lovey dovey

Bacon Lover                       : Let’s go back to my place I cooked some lasagna for us

Chanyeol_is_Real             : Can you hear our cheers from the window?

ohbubble                            : Yeol I pity your poor sense cause that is so not cool
