Chapter 7

His World

"Really he liked it?" Rei said. She just heard that Jaejoong liked what she prepared.

"Yes and he told me that you should eat your breakfast too," Mr. Lee said without looking straightly at her. He was not a good liar.

With that, Rei immediately got up and went straight to the kitchen, got her chopsticks and ate all their leftovers. She was just too excited to think of anything. Her brother liked it. Her brother liked what she cooked; nothing was going to beat that.

Mr. Lee watched her from behind. He couldn't help but remember her mother and father. She experienced way too much heartbreak at her young age. If only Jaejoong will take time to know her better.

"Please, I don’t want to talk about it anymore!" Jaejoong said as s kept on bugging him about Rei's room.

"I can’t believe you did that, Hyung! That was heartless." It was Junsu.

 He growled, about to hit Junsu. "Yah!" They were acting as if he committed a crime.

"I can’t believe you." Then it was Yunho, his closest friend. "You didn't even give her a proper welcome. Have you seen her yesterday? She was longing for you."

"You don’t know what she did to me! That girl ruined my life." Jaejoong snapped. “What I did was nothing compare to what she and my so-called father did to me.”

“But that girl is your sister!"

"Yunho!"

But Yunho was not rattled by his sudden anger. If there was one person who could handle a livid Jaejoong, it was him. "Now I'm beginning to believe that you only brought her here because of the inheritance."

"Yunho?" Jaejoong couldn’t believe it. He was really turned into a bad guy.

"Hyung? You’re not fighting right?" Changmin wanted to make sure. It was not usual to see their hyung in this situation and one thing more, they are DBSK, they always fight but they always make up.

"We're not. Someone just had to tell this guy that he's not doing the right thing," Yunho said pointing at Jaejoong, also assuring the maknae that they were not really fighting. Even though the maknae and the eldest were always the ones who fight.

But Jaejoong did not shut up, at least not yet.

"And what do you want me to do?" his voice rose a bit, surprising everyone."Forget everything as if nothing happened?"

"No one is telling you to stop, we know what you've been through but we also don't know what your sister been through. I just don’t want you to regret it afterward," Yunho finally said calmly. "Let's go, guys, the manager called."

And the others follow leaving Jaejoong behind.

"Omma, where are you going?" the 7 years old Jae asked.

"Somewhere darling, somewhere," said his Omma with tears leaving her eyes.

"You promise to come back?" But his Omma didn’t answer that was why he cried.

"Why are you taking only my sister with you?" He said in between sobs. "I want to come too!"

"Jaejoong." His Omma's voice sounded so weak. "Promise me something."

"Hyung, let's go," said Changmin, breaking him from his deep thoughts.
 

At home, Rei was fascinated with the huge TV. Mr. Lee said that DBSK will appear on a show that's why she was waiting for it. After few minutes, the show started to air and she watched it like her life was depending on it.

She couldn’t understand what the host was saying but the group sang an English acapella. Her brother was the main vocal.

"Oh, they're good," she commented, mesmerized by their voices and a small smile appeared on her face.

"Indeed,"  Mr. Lee who was also watching with her, agreed.

"They're so famous."

He nodded in agreement.

Then she suddenly frowned when she heard him mispronounced a word.

"What's wrong Rei?" she seemed like she just ate a lemon.

"Oppa pronounced it wrong. It should be ‘remember’ not ‘lemember’." She said innocently, her eyes never left the screen. (haha... I’m such a bad girl) 

Mr. Lee shook his head because of her reaction and chuckled. The girl grew up in Japan so she knew nothing about the country, the people, and the pronunciation. And considering that she's from Japan, it was quite surprising for Mr. Lee that she knew English well.

"Mr. Lee," She suddenly asked when the program ended, “I want to watch them live."

“You can, I'll tell Jaejoong about it." 

"My brother is so famous and the rest of the DBSK." A sigh was released and then let out a smile. "I'm so lucky to have a brother like him."

And Mr. Lee smiled. 'He also lucky, Rei. He just doesn't know it yet.'

"I have nothing to do today, mind if I help you Mr. Lee?" she said cutely.

Mr. Lee then thought of something.

"Okay, I will let you help if you will also drop the formality." He handed her the deal.

"Deal.” It was said with a two thumbs up. “From now on I will call you Uncle Lee!" she laughed.

"That's better."

Rei helped Mr. Lee clean throughout the day. She was surprised to know that a cleaning lady only comes once a week but the house remained spic and span thanks to Uncle Lee's expertise. They even planted some plants in the garden, it was the task she enjoyed the most since they planted strawberries when she was still in Japan.

She was then asked to get something from upstairs when she passed to Jaejoong’s room. She couldn’t help but wonder what it looked like.

Then the girl slowly opened the door and started to get amazed because of its elegance. The room screamed manly and expensive. Something that she couldn't afford.

"Wow."

She entered and looked around.  A DBSK giant poster was plastered on the wall. The view from the window was breathtaking, way better than the view in her room. Then something caught her attention, it was the picture of a lady holding a baby and both were smiling. She got it and gently hover her fingers on the lady's face.

"You must be our mother," Rei whispered, too drowned in the picture to even notice her surroundings.

"What are you doing here?" Jaejoong said frowning, revealing himself out of nowhere.

Rei was surprised so she accidentally dropped the picture, causing it to shatter to the floor.

"Hey!" He picked up the pieces of the broken frame. "Look what you've done."

"I'm sorry. I didn’t know,” She tried to help him but he just pushed her away roughly, causing her to stumble on the floor beside the broken glasses. A painful yelp was heard but Jaejoong acted like he didn’t see her. A piece of broken glass stuck her finger and it was bleeding.

"Did somebody tell you that it’s not right to enter someone's room without any permission or your just this insolent?"  Jaejoong was so angry that instead of helping his sister, he yelled. He didn't have the intention of helping her in the first place.

"Jaejoong, what happened?" Finally, Mr. Lee arrived, worried and scanned the room. He immediately went beside Reimi to check for any cuts when he saw the broken frame on the floor. He helped her stand and cover her bloody finger with his handkerchief.

Jaejoong just looked at him angrily.

"I'm so sorry." Rei started to cry then Jaejoong stood up and looked her straight in the face and cupped her cheeks with his hand with the intention to hurt Reimi.

"Do you really think that I like you to be here?" Rei was shocked. The truth really hurt.

"Oppa-"

He hissed. "Get the hell out of here. I don't want to see your face." 

Mr. Lee wanted to say something but Rei's wound needs to be treated so he just left.
