OMG! FINAL CHAPTER PART TWO-A unbeta-ed and not proof read as usual but i'll be back later     Once upon a time, there was a boy..   It was the third day of the school festival, Wednesday. More booths prepared by every year and section filled the school quadrangle, and classrooms were transformed from a room of learning to cafés, horror houses, marriage booths and gaming centers. The list of the graduates and honor students were posted too, and everyone in Eunhyuk’s class will be attending the commencement. Donghae topped their class, in no one’s surprise, and Eunhyuk couldn’t be prouder. College application letters flooded too, and although there were some who cried over the rejection, most of his class received the same result as Hongki and were all smiles and merry.   The school’s theatre hall was closed since Monday, for Eunhyuk’s class had been preparing the setting and all for the play on Friday. Some were painting the background, actors rehearsing their lines, Jaebeom and Hongki conceptualizing some scenes and everyone’s basically busy. Eunhyuk scanned the area, looking for a certain brunette when the door on the right side of the hall’s entrance burst open, revealing Donghae himself. Eunhyuk noticed how he’s looking a bit restless, which confused him since exam week was long over. He was startled when their eyes met, and he quickly turned away, completely unaware that the other’s approaching him in the first place. A folder was handed to him and Donghae walked away and occupied one of the audience’s seats before Eunhyuk could ask what it was. It turned out to be their play’s final act and the redhead went over each page swiftly and expected the happy ending on the last part.   He called for Hongki and handed the folder to him, saying he and Jaebeom should start practicing this with the actors so they could finally complete the whole play. He’s supposed to join them, he’s the student in charge after all. Or even checked on his other classmates who were actually doing something but his feet brought him to the brunette at the farthest end of the chairs in the first row. He knew he should pretend he didn’t care. But Donghae had been sighing and looking upset with his shoulders down and Eunhyuk just couldn’t make-believe he didn’t notice.   “Are you okay?”, he asked and he’s met with a frown, which made him gulp because he kind of got the feeling his presence’s not needed. He knew this would be stupid because they weren’t friends and he was actually starting to turn his back on him when Donghae heaved another sigh. “I’m just nervous.”, he stated, leaning on the chair as he bit his lip. Eunhyuk hesitated a little but taking note that the other didn’t seem to be planning to drive him away, he took the seat next to him and asked. “About what?”, Donghae glanced at him and quickly he added. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to!” Donghae chuckled with the way Eunhyuk was waving his hands frantically. He contemplated for a bit if he should tell the other but he noticed how the other’s face was more worried than curious, he wondered why, but he then gave in and thought he wouldn’t lose anything if he told him anyway. “It’s nothing.”, he started, but the nth sigh he let out once again proved he’s bluffing. “It’s just that, I applied for Harvard University and.. my letter hasn’t arrived yet.”, he said and Eunhyuk noticed how the brunette was tapping his left foot lightly while his fingers played with the hem of his shirt. He’s nervous. “Well I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation on why it hasn’t arrived yet. Harvard’s in America anyway, and it’s not like there’s anything you have to worry about, right?”, the redhead tried to brighten the mood but it seemed like Donghae became a lot more worried with the question. “You’re not seriously worried, right? I mean you’re great Donghae. You’re the top of our class, you have a very promising application profile, you’re made for Harvard!”, he encouraged more and Donghae chuckled softly. “Yeah, nerds like me fit in Harvard, right?”, he said and immediately wanted to take it back when he noticed Eunhyuk looked taken aback. “I meant it as a joke!”, he said instantly. “I’m not mocking you or anything, I know you’re way passed your bullying days and—it’s just I’m sorry I’m trying to be funny and I know I’m not and—“ His babbling came into a halt when Eunhyuk laughed, shaking his head and telling he’s no way offended. It’s true he was a little surprise because the words Donghae stated earlier were phrases the old him would tell the other and he fret for a moment if Donghae still thought of him as the he used to be. It was a relief the other was just kidding and what made it funny was the fact that Eunhyuk just remembered how poor Donghae’s sense of humor really was.   They were still not friends. But he guessed they’re bordering somewhere pass the acquaintance stage.   “I still think you have nothing to worry about. Besides, the week’s not done yet. And it’s not like they won’t be sending you anything even if you fail I mean there’s a thing called ‘Letter of Rejection’… but it’s not like I’m saying you’re going to be rejected because just like I said, you’re made for Harvard and I know you’re going to make it!” Eunhyuk’s the one blabbering now, and Donghae laughed because the redhead’s getting a little flustered from trying to send out his point. He was unaware of his actions that he actually flicked Eunhyuk’s forehead, quite lightly, but the redhead still yelped. He quickly palmed his forehead to soothe the pain and upon noticing it did hurt, Donghae immediately apologized and by instinct, pushed (really softly this time) Eunhyuk’s hand away so he could make it feel better instead. Donghae’s not aware of what he’s doing, and Eunhyuk didn’t know how in the world he’s still alive.   "Yeah, she's like giving you a once over earl--", he stopped once he faced Hyukjae, seeing the tiny bit sparkle and playfulness in her eyes. At once, Donghae got what the other was thinking. He bashed her square on her forehead. "Not like that you stupid.", he uttered and Hyukjae yelped, palming her forehead which was now red due to Donghae's ministration. She glared at Donghae but as usual, it won't affect the brunette just like that. "You're saying you hate her but then your eyes spark at the mention of her checking you out. Why are you so hopeless?", he said, shaking his head and Hyukjae pouted. "I meant that she was looking at you like you're someone she wants to grill alive. Did you do something to her?" "I haven't!  I mean.. I haven't.. yet.", she added, still massaging her forehead. Donghae frowned and pushed her hand away as he took the liberty to soothe Hyukjae's forehead by himself. They walked looking like that, with Donghae caressing Hyukjae's forehead. "And then I guess that look is more of jealousy, or seeing you as a threat. I have to admit you've become quite popular even if it's just the second day of school. Maybe she feels intimidated." "Really?" "Yeah." "Oh the popularity of me.", Hyukjae said with a flip of her hair and Donghae snorted, adding a little pressure on his massage. "Aw!", Hyukjae yelped, landing a soft punch on Donghae's chest as she swatted his hand away.  "Better now?", he asked with a snicker and Hyukjae stuck her tongue out, but her forehead isn't hurting anymore nonetheless.     His breath hitched at the sudden memory, and Donghae must have finally come to senses what he was doing that he quickly withdrew his hand, apologizing profusely for his actions. “I’m sorry—I didn’t mean— I am surprise myself I—“   “Ya Donghae!” both of the two boys turned their heads and found Hongki yelling onstage. “We have a question for this scene!”, he uttered, waving the script Donghae just handed earlier.   Donghae hesitated for a second, unsure if he would leave Eunhyuk just that after what he did. But he couldn’t even come up with a reason to justify his actions, he himself didn’t know. So glancing a little at the redhead beside him, he cleared his throat and stood up, running towards Hongki and the others without looking back.   Eunhyuk watched him go. For a moment he thought he’s back, his Donghae’s back. The flick on the forehead must have been on impulse, and it must also mean that the brunette’s comfortable enough around him to do something without thinking as that. He knew the familiarity of the situation was just a coincidence but he couldn’t help his heart to swell upon taking in the fact that Donghae and he could be close, if given the chance.   They were not friends. But he guessed they’re bordering somewhere far passed the acquaintance stage.   Eunhyuk contemplated if that’s a good thing or not.     ..who was turned into a girl.   Even though he was turned back to Eunhyuk, one of the many things he had made sure of was the fact that Donghae still possessed the support of Lee Groups of Companies for his Harvard application. He woke up with a start that Thursday morning, showering in a swift and getting ready for school. He dashed downstairs and on to the dining room, where he found his father starting with his breakfast, Gustav standing on his right as he reported his schedule for the day.   “Gustav!”, Eunhyuk called even before he could put his coat on. Mr. Shin, their butler, shrieked as he ran passed him, telling him he should be careful and the young master uttered a hurried apology. “G-Gustav..”, he called out again, panting a little. “Hyuk, why do you look in a haste at such an early hour?”, his father was the one who asked, telling him to sit down so they can start breakfast. The redhead obliged, but his eyes never leaving his father’s right hand. “Sir, I believe the young master has something to ask.”, Gustav inquired plainly after he’s done stating the agenda for the day. Lee Won Jun peeked from the cup of coffee he’s currently drinking, noticing how his son was fiddling on his seat, tapping both of his fists on the table and his toes on the floor. He put the cup down and chuckled, gazing on the redhead. “Okay, what is it?”, he asked and Eunhyuk hurriedly threw out the question he’s been itching to ask. “Gustav, you’ve been checking the results for the schools our scholars have applied for, right?” “Well I believe so young master. In fact three college application letters for Yonsei University came in last night and they all passed with remarkable grades.”, the French assistant uttered. “Did the universities from overseas send any?”, he asked, getting a little impatient. “From which one young master?” “Harvard!”, Eunhyuk quickly answered, his eyes widening, his face showing the anticipation that was on his voice. “Let me check for a while.”, Gustav responded as he tapped on his iPad, checking his e-mail if he received any from the certain Ivy League university. Eunhyuk waited in keenness, biting his bottom lip to contain himself. This wasn’t left unnoticed by his father, who perked an eyebrow up with his son’s actions. “Why do you want to know anyway? I supposed it’s not your application since you told me you didn’t apply for any college?”, Lee Won Jun asked, causing Eunhyuk to look his way and shake his head. “It’s not mine.”, he answered and he knew his father’s follow up question would be so he added. “It’s Lee Donghae’s.” “Lee Donghae?”, Lee Won Jun repeated and Eunhyuk nodded. “The one you recommended?”, he asked earning him another set of nods from his son. Lee Won Jun nodded, taking a bite of his omelet before asking again. “Is he your friend? I think I haven’t seen you with him.”, his father asked and Eunhyuk was stunned for a second before nodding lightly. “W-We’re sort of like that.”, he said, blushing a little. His father didn’t need to know how he’s actually related to Donghae, he’s not lying on the part that they’re ‘sort of’ friends anyway. Before his father could ask further, he focused on Gustav, who’s by now done with his search. “So?” “Lee Donghae for Harvard School of Physics?”, Gustav asked in his accented Korean and Eunhyuk nodded his head for another time. “Yes!”, he exclaimed, as if the nod wasn’t enough. “So did he get in?”   Eunhyuk almost forgot the need to breathe, unconsciously nibbling on his thumbnail as he waited for the words to spill out of Gustav’s lips.   He crossed his fingers and prayed the answer was the one he’s hoping for.   The girl then met a boy..   He was sprinting through the hallways again, but this time there wasn’t a pile of books on his hand nor a bag of apples. He was a bit uncertain on where he should be heading, but he went with his instincts and ran to the theatre hall, where he could guessed he could be because it’s Thursday, and it’s the last day for the rehearsals and any script editing or props and background constructing. He swerved in a corner, paced pass the lockers, unintentionally ignored the students in booths that were calling him, jogged the stairs and finally, his dash slowing down when he reached the place.   He made sure he looked alright, fixed his collar, combed his hair with his fingers, before pushing the door open and entering the theatre hall. He was glad that his instinct didn’t disappoint him, for just right as he had arrived, he found the object of his search in the middle of a small crowd amongst their classmates. He was hugging someone, which Eunhyuk took note to be one of their class’ smart students, the third placer in their class ranking and Donghae’s seatmate if he wasn’t mistaken. There was a huge grin on his face, and Eunhyuk beamed because he knew Donghae’s happy.   “Hyung!”, one blond head from that tiny crowd was turned to him and he spotted Hongki. He was waving for him to come over and he did. He came into a small halt however when Donghae turned to him, face bright and filled with glee reflected on his big grin. “Hyung—“ “Eunhyuk-ssi, I got in!”, the brunette exclaimed and he crossed the small distance separating the both of them with that huge smile on his face. Donghae’s beaming so widely that Eunhyuk couldn’t stop himself from grinning back. For a moment he thought Donghae’s going to hug him, and he unconsciously readied himself to hug the other bag. Donghae had already launched himself forward, just a few inches away from the redhead, but at the very last minute he seemed to realize what’s happening. Eunhyuk must have come to terms too, and they both awkwardly leaned back a little and just stood there. Eunhyuk wanted to curse himself from losing himself just then, while Donghae wondered inwardly what’s with the reflex.   “I got in.”, he said instead and these words brought Eunhyuk’s eyes back at his. “At Harvard.”, he completed, the big smile on his face again. Eunhyuk smiled and nodded once. “Yeah.”, he said. He had actually heard it from Gustav and right on the dot, he rushed out of their house, leaving his father a hurried good bye and telling his chauffer to get him in school as fast as he can. He couldn’t wait to tell Donghae the good news, not even minding the probability that he’s not in school yet. It turned out that he didn’t have to worry about anything because Donghae already knew and just now he noticed the piece of paper and envelope the brunette was holding, must be his letter of acceptance. He failed to perceive it earlier for he’s too busy staring at his face.   “I told you you’re going to make it.”, Eunhyuk uttered with a huge, gummy grin because he’s genuinely happy and he felt his heart skipped a beat when Donghae’s smile grew wider, if that’s even possible. It’s like his face is going to break, and Eunhyuk instantly knew he’s that happy.   “Congratulations, Donghae.”   The rest of the day rolled on with Donghae being exceptionally in a good mood, and because he was then so was Eunhyuk, and since the redhead’s happy then so was the rest of the class. They spent the whole day touching up for the props, setting up the backdrop, getting on with the dress rehearsal, showing the whole play for Mrs. Oh and they were glad to know the professor was very pleased. Around three in the afternoon, Eunhyuk gathered everyone.   “The past weeks were really grueling but I’m proud of us because we’ve managed.”, his happy face mirroring with the rest of his class’. “Tomorrow we’re going to give our one last contribution for this school and we’re going to perform it well!”, Eunhyuk uttered and his classmates cheered. “We still have a few more hours for today to enjoy the festival. I say let’s call it a day and meet each other tomorrow, when we’re going to knock all of them off their feet!”, the class clapped their hands, joyous and excited. Soon enough they started departing one by one, wishes of good luck for the event tomorrow until finally, there were only three.   Donghae was the first one to exit the hall, Eunhyuk and Hongki following behind. Eunhyuk waited while Hongki locked the door, and as he did so he found Donghae still standing in front of the place. He was about to start a conversation, even just a simple hi or hello because he wanted to talk to Donghae okay, when there were loud voices, and the next thing he knew he was seeing Onew running to the brunette.   “Hyung!”, he called as he pounced on Donghae. “Hyung, we’ve heard about the news!”, he said and Donghae chuckled. Eunhyuk peeked slightly and found Yoona, Kyuhyun, Jiyoung and Gongchan behind Onew, with the only girl rolling his eyes because why was Onew over reacting? “Congratulations hyung! I wish I’ll be able to pass the exams for next year too!”, the bubbly student uttered, pulling away from Donghae. “Since Yoona here wouldn’t want to show how happy she is, we in the Scholastic Club would like to congratulate you instead!”, Kyuhyun announced and the rest of the boys clapped with him. Yoona snorted. “It’s not that I’m not happy, I’m just not over reacting like most of you guys.”, she reasoned out and Donghae and Kyuhyun traded meaningful glances because they knew deep inside that Yoona’s very happy and very proud of her brother. “My uncle opened a café the other week just a few blocks from here, we can call your mom and celebrate your application!’, Kyuhyun suggested and Donghae thought it wasn’t a bad idea. He told Yoona to contact their mom and Onew and the freshmen applauded because ‘Yay! Food!’   Eunhyuk wasn’t even aware he’s watching. But he guessed it would rather be impossible to keep his eyes away. Here’s the group of his most favorite people. It made him happy seeing them laughing together like this. He stared at Donghae’s back, marveling on how it’ll be like if he’s still Hyukjae. He would probably be there with them, beside Donghae, clapping and beaming with the rest of the team.   He wasn’t prepared though when Donghae turned around, and he panicked for a while because he knew he was caught staring and the brunette might have found him creepy but nothing have prepared him from the words that left Donghae’s lips next.   “Hey, we’re having a small gathering. Do you want to join?”   Eunhyuk was uncertain if anything’s real. If Donghae looking straight at him right

Chapter 45: I discovered this story just a few hours ago and I finished it, I know.... it's surprising but I'm a fast reader and a book lover. Anyway, I didn't know I would love this story so much. It started with me asking for any EunHae omegaverse in Twitter, someone suggested me a thread of EunHae fanfics because they can't remember the title, and I stumbled upon this story in the thread. I stayed because the plot looked interesting and quickly as I knew it, the story gave me an excellent ride of my life. Thank you for creating this story!

Chapter 45: My goodness i can't remember when i cried that long and hard 😭 the goodbye and separation broke my heart but it hurt so good because they still had their happy ending in the end. I really thought it would be just frustration with their idiocy and denials but damn i didn't expect that my heart would hurt that bad and desperately desperately wished for everything to work out in the end (and thank god it did!)

One of the longest i've read, but surely one of the most memorable ones too!! 👏
