If this was a dream, Eunhyuk perfectly knew what to do. He would have reached for Donghae’s face, fingers crawling until he could grab his nape, and then slowly, just like in movies, he would pull him down so they could share a mindblowing kiss. But unfortunately, this wasn’t a dream and it’s very real. Donghae’s inches apart and Eunhyuk’s breath started to go uneven, face turning scarlet and it didn’t help that he was picturing himself and the other boy locking lips a while ago. Absolutely out of his mind and desperate to get as far away from Donghae quickly, Eunhyuk bolted up in a rush, which was, obviously, a really terrible idea. Donghae’s head wasn’t that close but it was hovering for only a good centimeters apart from his that when he sat up, his forehead bumped on the other’s nose, causing Donghae to fall back on his , his palm covering his nose. Eunhyuk’s forehead ached but he knew it was nothing compared to Donghae. The impact wasn’t that hard but he knew it hurt so he hurriedly kneeled and checked on the other, fret all over his face and was evident in his voice. “Are you okay?!”, he asked, and for a moment he was about to touch the other’s face but the frown on Donghae’s forehead brought him into a halt. He was still covering half of his face and although Eunhyuk badly wanted to know how he was, he contented himself on just asking. “Are you okay?”, he repeated, gentler this time, eyes searching from signs of struggle or agony from Donghae but he only stared at him, his brown orbs showing signs of confusion. “What are you doing?”, Donghae asked instead, taking his hand off his face and Eunhyuk learned he wasn’t bleeding just as how he had feared. “What do you mean what am I doing?” “Well.. aren’t you supposed to kick me or something? I mean, I just hit you..”, Eunhyuk was left speechless, eyes stinging on the way Donghae would shy away from his gaze, refusing to look at him and even worse, having his arms already on guard in case he would really hit him. Adding up to the pain he’s feeling, if it was considered as one because he could feel his heart clenching, was the fact that he’s actually talking to Donghae right now. When was the last time he ever had a conversation with Donghae, really? It was a stab in his heart when he realized it’s when he asked for strawberry milk, and Donghae had to cross the street to buy it for her. If he only knew it was the last time he would have not let him go. He was spacing out again and was just brought back from his reverie when Donghae coughed, and a blush crept on his cheeks because he was reminded that he was indeed with Donghae now, and he silently prayed the flush went unnoticed or even if it did, Donghae wouldn’t find it creepy. “I just hit you, why would I do that again.”, Eunhyuk mumbled instead, getting on his feet as Donghae stared at him for quite a while before following suit. “Are you really okay?”, he asked before he could stop himself. He got a little scared though, when he took in the fact that Donghae was surprised with his question. “Are you really asking if I’m okay?”, he asked and Eunhyuk bit his inner cheek because although he already knew how Donghae think badly of him, it still hurt having to experience it all over again. “Can you just answer me if you’re fine?!”, he asked, feeling impatient and frustrated, but for Donghae it came out as if he’s annoyed. The brunette instinctively took a step back and Eunhyuk flinched slightly, attempted to stop him and say it is fine, but he knew the other would just find it weirder so he just remained rooted on his spot, hands turning into a tight fist. Donghae sensed Eunhyuk wasn’t planning to attack him, so he let his guard down. He gulped and stood their awkwardly, wondering why he’s still in there when he could have walked away, and it’s not like they’re on speaking terms or if Eunhyuk actually care for him to inform the other he’ll go first. Eunhyuk also had his eyes fixed on the lower portion of the shelf beside to his right so he thought the other didn’t have anything to say anymore. A little hesistant, even though he wondered himself why would he feel that way, he turned around and quietly walked away. He hadn’t made it to five steps however, when he heard Eunhyuk spoke. “I’m sorry.” Donghae shifted his body so now he’s facing Eunhyuk, the other still had his gaze on the book shelf, but the statement was obviously pointed at him. “I’m sorry.”, he repeated and Donghae was honestly amazed because woah, Eunhyuk shouldn’t be saying sorry he never apologized what the hell is happening to the world. He noticed though, albeit the distance, that the other was actually trembling, his chin quivering a little and Donghae wondered if he’s feeling guilty he wanted to cry. Donghae bit his lip, feeling remorseful himself. And was Eunhyuk that worried? “Err.. I’m alright, really. And I’m not going to die or break my nose or something so..”, he uttered, unsure why he’s even explaining and if he actually interpreted Eunhyuk’s action as guilt and he felt like he’s embarassing himself so he just scratched the back of his head, eyes anywhere but Eunhyuk. His attention flew back on the redhead, though, when he heard a soft laughter and found the redhead stiffling a giggle, the back of his palm covering a gummy smile. Donghae found the expression endearing. Which was strange, because nothing about Eunhyuk’s endearing.. right? “I’m glad to hear that but I actually mean something else.”, he said and Donghae perked up an eyebrow. “I’m sorry.. for being a douchebag.”, he continued and Donghae marveled for a bit if he was hearing everything right. “I’m sor
