Tiffany was happily sitting at her desk, her thoughts warped around Dongae. It’s only been 2 days in their relationship and she couldn’t be happier.

Jessica walks through the door, taking her usual seat and stares at the white board.

“Morning Jessica.” Tiffany says, looking at the bored latter.

 “Hey.” She replies bluntly, not looking at her.

Tiffany shrugs off her cold behavior; she wasn’t going to let the ice princess ruin her good mood.

Taeng walks in the room, seeing Tiffany and quickly approaches her. He softly places a bag of chocolates in front of her and smiles warmly. Tiffany was taken aback, looking at Taeng with surprise.

 “Good morning Fany-ah.” Taeng says happily.

 Tiffany’s heart skips a beat, seeing the warm look on her friend’s face and the kind gesture he did.

 “You called me Fany-ah…” She replies quietly.

“Isn’t that what I always call you?” He questions, rubbing the back of his head.

 “I thought you wanted to ‘grow up’?” Tiffany retaliates, replaying the memory in her head.

 Taeng sighs, taking his seat and looking at Tiffany, “I’m sorry about that Fany-ah, I didn’t mean that.”

“You sounded like you did…” Tiffany says softly, eyeing the desk.

 “I didn’t. I don’t know why I said that but…I’m an idiot. I’m sorry if I hurt you.” Taeng says sincerely, taking the bag of chocolates and flaunting it in front of her “I brought your favorite chocolates to make up for my foolishness.”

 Tiffany lets out a chuckle, relief settling in her body. She couldn’t bear the thought of losing her best friend, the most important person in her life.

 “It’s okay Taeng, I forgive you.” Tiffany replies, happily taking the chocolates in her possession.

“I’m glad.” He says, warmly smiling.

“But you have to promise me one thing.” Tiffany speaks with seriousness.

 “Anything.” Taeng replies, looking at the latter.

“You have to call me Fany-ah until we die.” Tiffany chuckles, causing the latter to laugh.

 “I promise to call you Fany-ah until we die.” Taeng swears, holding his hand over his heart.

 “Thank you for the chocolate.” Tiffany says to him, smiling.

“Of course.” He replies, dorkily smiling.

Jessica quickly turns around and looks at Taeng, “Are you ready for your game today?”

 Taeng had been containing his excitement. He had been waiting for this day to come; he was more than excited for his first game.

 “More than ready, I’ve been waiting for this day.” He replies enthusiastically.

 Jessica smiles, “I’ll be there supporting you from the sidelines.”

“Really? Thanks, be sure to cheer my name.” Taeng teases, poking the latter.

 She chuckles, “Of course.”

Tiffany’s eyes glow with awe, “I’m so excited to watch you play.”

Taeng rubs the back of his head, “I’m glad to see I’ll have a lot of people supporting me.”

Jessica swats his arm, “Of course!”

 Taeng rubs his arm, pretending to act in pain “Ow! You hit my good arm, now I won’t be able to shoot.”

Jessica and Tiffany laugh at the latter’s joke.

 Jessica shakes her head, “Aigoo. Sorry.” She rubs his arm affectionately “Better?”

 Taeng grins, “Much better.”

Tiffany felt a bit awkward seeing Jessica rub Taeng’s arm but she brushes it off. She smiles to hide the awkward feeling, containing her excitement for the game. She can’t wait to see him play on the court; she was even more excited to see her boyfriend play. He promised he would make a basket just for her.

Yoona enters the room, running over to Taeng and wraps his arm around his neck.

 “Hey there MVP!” Yoona says, messing up Taeng’s hair.

Taeng pushes the latter off him, “Aish calm down.”

 The latter smiles, “I can’t help it. I’m excited to see you play.”

Taeng chuckles while fixing his hair, “Thanks Yoona.”

 Tiffany smiles for her best friend, knowing that everything between them is okay she feels even better.

The school day passes, and the group heads to the gym, Yul and Taeng heading to the locker room to change.

“Where should we sit?” Sooyoung says, pondering to herself.

 “Let’s sit in the middle.” Hyoyeon suggest, making her way to the stands.

 “Tiff!” Tiffany turns around and a smile forms on her face. She runs to her boyfriend, jumping into his arms.

 “Hey!” She says ecstatically.

 The group watches them with curious eyes, a puzzling look on each of their faces. Donghae tenderly kisses Tiffany, holding her close in his arms. The group’s jaw drops, their eyes widen.

 “They’re…dating?” Sunny says softly, gazing at the couple in front of them.

Yoona bites his bottom lip, searching the gym room to locate Taeng. Luckily he was still in the locker room changing.

 Tiffany waves her boyfriend bye and heads to the bleachers to sit with her friends. As soon as she sits down, Hyoyeon attacks her with questions.

“Are you guys dating?!” She asks, a grin on her face.

 Tiffany shyly nods, growing red of embarrassment.

Yoona holds in his breath, anger coursing through his body.

“Ah! You guys are so cute together.” Sooyoung says in awe, smiling at her friend.

 Seohyun looks at Yoona with worry, Yoona informed her of the situation between Taeng and Tiffany and she knew this was bad news. Yul, Yoona, and Seohyun are the only ones who know about Taeng’s true feelings for Tiffany. Yoona remains quiet as the girls, excluding Jessica and Seohyun, chatter about Tiffany’s relationship. Tiffany was red as a tomato, flustered as her friends kept bombarding her with questions.

“So this is why you’ve been ditching us…” Seohyun says quietly, Tiffany looks at her and was taken aback.

“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean too.” Tiffany replies, guilt getting the best of her.

 Sooyoung fans her hand, “Aigoo, don’t be sorry. I’m glad you’re in a relationship; just make sure you hang out with us more often.”

 Tiffany smiles warmly, “I will.”

“OMO! Is that Taeng?!” Hyoyeon says, gasping for air.

Taeng was running towards an elderly man with no shirt on, he was there to pick up his uniform.

Sooyoung fans herself, “Omo! I told you he would have abs!”

Jessica bites her bottom lip, embarrassed to see a half- Taeng. She couldn’t help but marvel at his well-defined abs and built arms. Tiffany couldn’t help but to grow red too seeing Taeng’s defined muscles.

“Mouthwatering.” Sunny says, nearly out of breath.

Yoona rolls his eyes, “You guys are crazy.”

 Taeng looks out to the bleachers and sees his friends staring at him with their jaws dropped. He awkwardly smiles, waving to them before returning his attention back to his coach.

“See, you guys are scaring him off with your drool.” Yoona teases, Seohyun laughs at his joke.

 “He’s. Perfect.” Sooyoung states, keeping her eyes on Taeng as he exits the gym.

Tiffany chuckles, though she couldn’t deny that Taeng had a really nice body. The double doors open and Jieun enters happily. She sees Taeng’s friends and makes her way over to them.

 “Mind if I join you?” She questions, pointing to the empty seats.

 “Of course, you don’t have to ask.” Hyoyeon teases, motioning her to take a seat.

Jieun happily takes her seat next to Tiffany, Tiffany looks at her and smiles.

 “Are you here to support Taeng?” She asks the young latter.

She energetically nods, “Yes! I have to make sure he hears me.”

 Tiffany chuckles, “I’ll cheer with you.”

“Hello! Ladies and gentleman! Welcome to Sone High School’s very first basketball game!” The announcer says overly excited.

The crowd immediately roars seeing their team run out to the courts. Donghae winks at Tiffany, she smiles, waving excitedly at her boyfriend.

Yul wraps his arm around Taeng’s neck, “How are you feeling?”

 “Nervous but excited.” Taeng replies warmly smiling.

The opposing team enters the school, setting their stuff down at the ‘Guest’ section. Taeng takes a deep breath, jumping up and down to contain his nerves.

“And now…let’s get this game started!” The announcer says, causing everyone to jump on their feet.

Taeng looks to the crowd; his friends were smiling and cheering his name. He dorkily smiles, waving to them as he runs to his position.

 “You ready Taeng?” Kikwang asks, patting him on the back.

 Taeng smiles, “I’m ready hyung.”

 The whistle blows and the game begins. The referee throws the basketball up into the air, Yul had the advantage since he was taller and throws the ball towards Kikwang. Kikwang dribbles the ball, making his way to their side of the court. Taeng makes himself open, clapping his hands for the ball. Kikwang passes it to him, screening his guarder. Taeng swivels around and makes a layup.

“Kim Taeng with the first basket for the Sone’s!” The announcer cheers. The crowd cheers, clapping their hands happily.

 “Go Taeng oppa!” Jieun yells, watching in awe.

 “Good job Taeng.” Yul says happily, patting his back as they run on the other side of the court.

He felt great making the first basket, he looks to the crowd and sees Tiffany smiling at him and cheering him on. A greater amount of confidence surges through him. Taeng was high on defense; the point guard of the opposing team tries to throw to another member.

 Yul quickly snatches the ball, throwing it to Kikwang on the other side.

“Kwon Yul with a steal!”

“Go Yul!” Sooyoung yells, jumping up and down.

 Kikwang passes the ball to Donghae, he quickly jumps up to make a shot. Tiffany stands up in excitement seeing her boyfriend shoot, hoping it will go in the basket. The ball hits the glass; Taeng quickly rebounds the ball and makes another layup.

“Taeng with the rebound and basket!”

 The crowd roars in excitement.

Donghae shoots Taeng a disgusted look, “I could have made that.”

 “But you didn’t.” Taeng retaliates, running back to the other side of the court.

Tiffany frowns, she was glad Taeng made another basket but she was in high hopes for the basket her boyfriend promised her. The game quickly passes by, Taeng’s team in the lead by 30 points.

“Taeng is so good!” Sunny squeals, admiring him from the bleachers.

Tiffany was growing impatient, Donghae had missed all of his shots, she continues to cheer for him despite he hasn’t made a single point yet.

 “Go Donghae!” She yells loudly.

“He hasn’t made a single point.” Yoona retorts, Seohyun hits him for his rudeness.

Tiffany glares at Yoona, the latter shrugs and gazes at the court.

“Go Taengoo!!” Jessica yells, punching her fist in the air.

 Taeng was on fire, sweat was drenching all over him. He had made the majority of the points, he couldn’t be stopped. The ball was passed to him again; he takes a shot from the three point line. A swish was heard and the crowd uproars again.

 “Kiiiiimmmmmm Taaaaaeeeennnnggg with a three!” The announcer yells, his voice being loudly projected.

 The game was coming to an end, there was a minute left on the clock of the fourth quarter.

“Taeng! Taeng! Taeng! Taeng!” The crowd starts to chant, their voices growing louder.

The group joins along, “Taeng! Taeng! Taeng!”

 Kikwang was standing, holding the ball to stall time. He looks at Taeng and gives him a wink, a signal. Taeng nods his head, running towards the hoop.

“10! 9! 8!”

The crowd starts to countdown; all though they knew their team had won the anticipation was still inside. Taeng makes his way under the hoop, Kikwang shoots the ball.

 “7! 6!”

The ball was inching closer to the rim, Taeng jumps up as high as he could go.

 “5! 4! 3! 2! 1!”

Taeng takes the ball in his hands and slams it inside the basket.

The final basket made before time was out.

“Sone’s win!”

 The crowd cheers, running to the middle of the court to congratulate the players.

“Taeng! We won!” Yul says, pushing his friend with happiness.

Taeng smiles, Kikwang runs towards him. “Good shot!”

“Thanks hyung!”He replies happily.

Taeng was feeling great, although he was sweating, he was filled with energy. The court became filled with fans to congratulate the players, each of them yelling in victory.

Taeng pushes his way through the crowd, people congratulating him as he walks by. He was trying to locate his friends and more importantly Tiffany. He pushes through, scanning through the many amounts of people. He sees Tiffany a distance away, he excitedly inches his way towards them. He was smiling, keeping his eyes on his crush.

“Fany-ah-”

Tiffany leans up and kisses Donghae, wrapping her arms around his neck.

The world stops, the background noises fades away into a deafening silence. A spotlight was on Taeng and the couple in front of him. His mind was swirling.

 *Crack*

His heart breaks again, aching and hurting. Taeng stares at the couple, hugging and kissing affectionately. Everything resumes again, the noises coming back into play. Taeng couldn’t take this anymore. He runs, making his way to the door.

Yoona sees his friend running towards him; “Taeng-”

 Taeng shoves past him, running out the doors. Yoona watches the doors close; he turns back and sees the reason behind Taeng’s action. Anger boils to him; he makes his way over to the couple.

 Jessica approaches him, “Where did Taeng go?” She was worried about him; she saw how fast he ran out the doors.

 “I don’t know but can you find him?” Yoona asks, worried about his friend too.

 Jessica nods, running out the doors to search for Taeng.

Yoona walks to Tiffany; she stops talking to her boyfriend and looks at him.

 “Hey Yoona.” She says happily.

“You’re an idiot you know that?” He says darkly, daggers in his eyes.

Tiffany was taken aback, the latter’s words stinging. “I don’t understand…” She replies quietly, holding back her tears.

“Taeng doesn’t deserve a friend like you…” Yoona says, anger in his tone.

 Tiffany hangs her head, not understanding why the latter was being so harsh to her.

“Back off my girlfriend.” Donghae says, defending her.

 Yoona clenches his fist, swinging at his face before walking away. Donghae falls to the floor, holding his face that was in pain.

Tiffany gasps, “Donghae!” She kneels beside him “Are you okay?”

 Donghae groans, “I’ll be okay. What was his problem?”

Tiffany looks up and watches Yoona exit through doors. “I don’t know.” She replies softly.

Taeng was running for the life of him, he didn’t know where he was going but all he knew was he had to escape. Escape from the pain, from her. He slows down to a walk, his fists clenching in frustration. He wished he hadn’t seen that, he wishes he could go back in time to stop him from witnessing that. He clutches his heart, it was in pain. He felt like he was going to die of a heart attack. Taeng walks over to the ledge, looking out to the clear blue waters.

 He was heartbroken.

His astounding victory felt like a pitiful lost.

I know, I’m horrible for putting Taeng through all of this. But don’t worry! His time will come, just keep reading. I promise things will get better for him. (:
