Chapter Thirty One
When You Were Mine"Are you here alone?" Mr. Lee loudly cleared his throat, and Woohyun nearly jumped when he realized that her parents were literally just right there.
"N-No, S-Sir..." Woohyun’s cheeks reddened as he stood up after he tied Minji’s skates. Mr. Lee snickered at the flustered boy, "Who are you here with? Your girlfriend?"
"I don’t have a girlfriend." Woohyun blinked. Mr. Lee nodded and smirked, "Your boyfriend, then?" Woohyun gaped at him, "I’M NOT GAY!" Mr. Lee laughed evilly, "I'm sorry! It's just so fun messing with you!" Woohyun blinked and frowned a bit. *Now I know how Minji feels...*
Mr. Lee burst into laughter again, "Yah! Yeobo! Did you see this kid's face?!" Mrs. Lee mumbled unenthusiastically, "Yes... Yes, I saw his face..." Mr. Lee continued to laugh, "Wasn't it hilarious?!" Mrs. Lee rolled her eyes. "No... Not really..." Mr. Lee made a face at his wife and finally shut up.
"You don’t have a girlfriend?" Minji blinked at Woohyun. "No… Why would you think I did?" *You’re the only girl I’d ever want as my girlfriend…* Woohyun raised a brow at her.
"OPPA!" Soyoung squealed and backhugged her cousin. Minji suspiciously narrowed her eyes at Woohyun, stood up, and headed onto the ice.
"Minji! Wait! No! This little brat isn’t my girlfriend!" Woohyun yelped and got out of Soyoung’s grip before he went onto the ice. He skated over to Minji and caught her just as she slipped.
"T-Thanks!" Minji mumbled, embarrassed, as she stood straight up but didn’t move. Woohyun blinked at her as he skated around her, "Aren’t you going to skate?"
"Y-Yeah..." Minji scratched her head and moved a foot but slipped again.
Woohyun luckily caught her before she could fall. He couldn’t help but smile at the closeness in their faces as his heart literally thumped out of his chest.
"Errrr… Thanks…" Minji gently pushed him away and stood still. "You… don’t know how to skate… do you?" Woohyun raised a brow in amusement as he skated around her again. "O-Of course I know how to s-skate!" Minji cleared and crossed her arms. "Prove it." Woohyun smirked when he skidded to a stop. Minji’s eyes went wide. "I…" Woohyun gave her a look.
"Fine! I don’t know how to skate!" She blurted a little too loudly and caused other people on the rink to give her weird looks. "I’ll teach you." Woohyun smiled and grabbed her hands.
He couldn’t help but smile at the softness of her hands. He wished he could hold them all day and every day. He loved how her hands fit his so perfectly, as if they were the matching pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
"Unnie! Who is that girl?" Soyoung pouted to Jihyun. Jihyun smiled a bit, "...Your oppa’s first love!"
"What?! O-Oppa… H-He… He’s cheating on me?" Soyoung gasped as her fragile heart shattered. "Aigoo! That's gross! He’s your cousin!" Jihyun reminded the girl. Soyoung pouted as they walked over to their parents and sat down, "I don’t know how to skate, and he yells at me to get off the rink! She doesn’t know how to skate, and he’s helping her?!" Soyoung whined and crossed her arms, "That’s not fair! Oppa's playing favorites!"
Out on the rink, Minji and Woohyun continued to hold hands as they skated around. He skated backwards as he stood in front of her. He would only look at her, but she would only look at her skates, scared that she’s going to fall.
After she got the hang of it, he let go of just one of her hands. This time, they skated, side-by-side. She would occasionally trip and lose balance, but he would catch her every time.
"O-Okay! I-I think I got this!" Minji exhaled deeply. Woohyun raised a brow at her, "Are you sure?"
"Y-Yeah! Let go!" She smiled at him. He pouted a bit, "Are you positive?" *I don’t want to let go, yet.*
"Yes!" She winked at him. He held her hand a bit longer before he reluctantly let go. "You okay?" He asked as they skated around slowly and separately. *Please say you’re not.* He wanted so desparately to hold her hand again, even if it was just another second.
"Y-Yeah! See?" She giggled, "Now… let’s race!" She pointed at him. He blinked at her, "Race?"
"Yeah! Race! What? Are you scared I’ll beat you?" She stuck her tongue out at him as she skated in a circle. "Okay. Let’s race." Woohyun smirked, "First one to skate around the rink twice wins?"
"You’re on!" She giggled again before she skated off. He chuckled and skated right after her.
Even though he could have very--and I mean, VERY--easily skated past her many times, he would slow down and skate behind her. There were only two reasons why he skated behind her (and, no, it's NOT so he could check out her ):
1. His rival is Minji (dramatic sigh), the love of his life. And because his rival is Minji, the 'love of his life', he'd let himself lose just this once. (wipes a tear and sniffles)
2. He didn't want the 'love of his life' to get hurt. So, if she fell, he wanted to catch her so that she wouldn't get hurt. Isn't that just so sweet? (wipes another tear)
"I win!" Minji squealed and cheered. Woohyun watched her cheer and sighed. *She's so cute.* But because he was so busy daydreaming about her, he didn't notice a skater lose his balance. That is, until that skater crashed into Minji.
"I'm so sorry!" The guy rubbed the side of his before he got up and skated off. Woohyun gaped at the guy, "Aish! That guy! I should go beat him up!" He was about to skate over to the guy until a girl suddenly crashed into him and caused him to fall.
"Sorry!" The girl apologized as her boyfriend helped her up, and they both skated off together. Woohyun frowned at them, "Aish! Bad skaters like them should be banned from here!"
"But I'm a bad skater, too...?" Minji blinked as she stood up but fell again. Woohyun smiled at her. *But you're an exception.*
There were lots of people exiting the ice skating rink, but there were lots of people entering, too. There were seven, to be specific, that entered.
"Is that… Minji?" Hyuna squinted her eyes at the skating rink and smiled, "...And she’s with Woohyun." Infinite all looked at the rink.
At the sound of Minji’s name, L’s head immediately snapped upward. He locked onto one of the many couples on the skating rink. His brows raised in confusion. *What are they doing here?*
Woohyun and Minji both sat on the ice and laughed like maniacs. He steadily stood up and held his hand out. She took it, and he helped her up and even twirled her around like a little princess.
That made L angry. Why? He didn’t know. All he knew was that he didn’t like it. *That’s supposed to be me.* L was surprised by his own thoughts. *Wait... What? What the hell did I just think?*
Woohyun had stopped twirling Minji. Instead, they started to play a game of tag or something. Woohyun eventually caught her and hugged her from behind. She suddenly burst into a fit of giggles as he tickled her sides. That eventually led the two of them to fall on the ice. Although their butts hurt (and were definitely going to have bruises for the rest of their lifetimes), the two of them burst into laughter and ignored the people who gave them weird looks.
If L was angry when Woohyun twirled her around, he was pissed now. No. He was way beyond pissed. *How dare he backhug her and tickle her?! Who does that guy think he is?! Aish!* He glared at Woohyun. *And what the hell are they doing here, together?!*
"They must be on a date." Hyuna smiled at L, "Isn’t that sweet? They’re the perfect couple!" Hyuna went on and on about Woohyun and Minji.
The longer she rambled about them, the angrier L felt. His fists would clench tighter and tighter. His nails pierced small dents into his skin. He was that pissed off. What pissed him off even more was that he didn’t know WHY he was pissed off.
Woohyun and Minji weren’t lying down on the cold ice and laughing anymore. Woohyun had helped her up, and, in the process, kissed Minji's cheek when he pulled her up. Her eyes went wide as she touched her cheek. Before she could hit him, he laughed at her and skated off. Now, she was the one to chase him.
Hyuna smirked at L again when she saw how his knuckles turned white. She hummed an innocent tune, sat at the bleachers, and proceeded to put her skates on.
