Kiss day
It (does)n’t happen - intermediate -
Jinki scrolled through his phone, noticing the date. It was a special day – a day he had wanted to land on while he had a girlfriend to make it that special and adorable. Make them both feel special, really. Jinki lifted his head, finding his friend still sitting beside him playing video games on his handheld system. They sat alone in Jinki’s room to just hangout like they often did around this time of year – play games, read comics, laze around. Though it seemed they did spend more time inside than going out since Minho had changed in many ways – but still the same in others.
Jinki mulled over what to do while watching Minho’s serious expression being lost in video game. He wanted Minho’s attention though – wanted his friend to not obsess over video games in a way he hadn’t before he was hurt. Jinki pocketed his cellphone, expression set while he leaned over, lips touching Minho’s soft cheek in a slightly lingering kiss – no pressure, just wanting to be close, even taste a little of the person who made his heart skip again.
Minho looked up once Jinki pulled back, wide eyes falling on him. He really did try to bite back his smile, but Minho staring at him, mouth hanging open in surprise and shock, was a little too adorable.
“Eh.. hyung?”
“Nothing,” Jinki brushed it off, “Thought there was some food on your face.”
Minho’s fingers ran over his cheek, obviously finding no food. Minho chewed his lip, brows furrowing, making Jinki worry and almost regret his actions. His friend turned back to his game and Jinki watched closely from the corner of his eye.
Tightness in Jinki’s chest he wasn’t even fully aware of loosened watching Minho’s lips twitch with a smile and soon his friend was kicking playfully at his legs, making Jinki laugh.
When Jinki imagined this special day would be amazing with his perfect girl, he didn’t expect it to in fact be his male best friend and more thrilling then he ever pictured it could be.
That particular ‘Kiss Day’, several months since confession spoken aloud to his friend, stayed vivid in Jinki’s mind and heart long after.
