You continued to stare into space as your stylist finished spraying hair spray onto your freshly curled hair. You stood up from the chair, the back of your dress dragging on the floor, not paying much attention to what you were doing. The dress was simple; it was black, had no straps, sparkles, and the front stopped mid-thigh while the back was long and flowed all the way to the ground. The combination of your heels and dress enhanced your look, making you look enchanting. You couldn’t gush over how beautiful your dress was like your stylists were. They kept telling you that you looked gorgeous and that all eyes would focus on you when you entered, but you weren’t listening.

You were thinking about what you overheard while making your way to get ready. You didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but you wanted to greet Woohyun and Dongwoo before getting ready for the dinner party began.

 It sounded like they were having a conversation, so you waited outside. The door was slightly ajar and their hushed whispers drifted out and made its way to your ears.

“I feel bad lying to ~~~ about Sunggyu hyung and Howon…” Dongwoo said softly.

“Yeah, Sunggyu hyung really likes ~~~…” Woohyun agreed. “I sort of feel sorry for him…”

“Mhm…”

Sunggyu, your ideal man, likes you? As a lover and not a friend… Again you were torn. You knew you liked Hoya, but you told yourself you’d move on with Sunggyu. But even so, it wasn’t easy although Sunggyu was the perfect boyfriend. You still haven’t gone around to treating Sunggyu as more than just a friend yet. The relationship between you and Sunggyu… you felt that it wouldn’t be more than a brother-sister one. But now that you knew he liked you, wouldn’t it be easier to move on? It makes it a lot easier, doesn’t it?

You decided to talk to 2Woo later.

Today was the dinner party that Woollim was hosting. Each Woollim artist was able to invite one of their friends to attend the event and you invited Sungyeol a while ago. He asked if he could bring a friend. You were hesitant because of your uncle, but since he allowed him, you told Sungyeol that he could. Every Woollim artist had to have a partner to walk inside the building with, so the press could take pictures.

You were standing with Hoya and Sunggyu, whose clothes happened to coincidentally complement yours. Your uncle announced everyone had to have a partner, boy and girl. You didn’t know who to choose, but then thought about asking Sunggyu. Hoya was about to ask you to be his partner, but another female Woollim artist beat him to it and asked him. He couldn’t decline so he went with her. You were left with Sunggyu.

He casually talked with you, but he felt that you were a bit different, not like the ~~~ he knows. He couldn’t place his finger on it, but there was something off about you. He pushed it away. Maybe it was because of what you’re wearing. He knew you didn’t really like wearing heels and tight dresses because you couldn’t move freely while wearing them. Finally, it was time to walk with your partner. Sunggyu extended his arm and you hooked yours with his willingly. Cameras continued flashing as each Woollim artist walked down the aisle with their partner. The flashes increased as you walked down with Sunggyu. You two smiled here and there and waved.

Now that everyone was inside it was time for the banquet to begin. Partners were no longer necessary, but you still stuck around with Sunggyu. If you were going to move on, you had to put in effort in moving on. It wouldn’t just happen by itself.

Hoya was walking around the area, looking for you. He saw a tall guy walking with another girl who was holding an iPhone, with a sparkly case made of rhinestones. It looked very familiar for some reason, but he didn’t pay much attention to it. He wanted to find you in time so the both of you can sit together. He had to win your over before Sunggyu does.
