Equation 12

Key's P.O.V

"No, I'm really sorry," Key whispered into the phone, as he covered his mouth so other people couldn't overhear the conversation, "something came up."

Searching through all the excuses he could come up with, he used the best one out of all of them: "My grandma has gotten sick, so I have to go home and see, if she's okay."

Everyone knew how much Key cared about his grandma, and that they shouldn't expect to see him, even if they told him to come anyways. But this also made Key feel really bad, since he didn't like using his elder as an excuse to not going to work.

He knew, that if his grandma found out, he would get scolded really badly, and he regretted, that he didn't reject Jonghyun, but something inside him had screamed, that he should go and have dinner with him.

Key worked part-time beside being a fulltime student, since there were no other way to cover all the expenses of going to such a good college, and he didn't want to settle with any other school, so he never complained, since this was his dream.

"Yeah. I can work tomorrow instead," he told his boss in a hurry, as Key heard a knock on his door reminding him, that he soon had to go and eat dinner with Jonghyun.

It wasn't because Key was embarrassed by the fact, that he was working part time, and he definitely wouldn't let anyone belittle him because of it, it just seemed like it was easier to hide it, than having to explain all those rich kids, why he had to work.

"You ready yet?" Jonghyun opened the door a bit, as he was afraid to enter Key's private space. What if he would get killed by Key, who hated when people entered his room without permission.

"Yeah, almost." With those words Key grabbed his coach and went outside his room with the older guy in his tail, as they entered the living room, where Key right away saw Onew standing with a frying pan and Taemin ready to crack some eggs.

"YAH!" He yelled, as he watched the two of them jump from fright, since they had been caught in the act.

"No." Key simply said with a frown forming on his forehead, while he pointed at the two of them, "just no."

"But Hyung we're..." Taemin tried to explain himself, but Key cut him off: "No."

"We're only going..." this time it was Onew speaking up, but Key didn't show any respect towards his elder, as he also cut him off: "I said no."

"NO." Loudly Key stopped all of their explanations, as he shivered by the thought of the chaos they had made the last time, they had entered the kitchen, "just don't do it, okay?"

"Don't be so hard on the kids," Jonghyun interrupted, as he swung a well built arm over Key's shoulder, "just let them play for a bit Yeobo."

At first Key was surprised by Jonghyun's sudden role play, but decided that two could play that game, and he leaned in against Jonghyun and let his arm find its way around the older's waist.

"But Jagiya! They're going to make a chaos out of the kitchen again!" Key pouted cutely at Jonghyun, who now didn't know what to do, since he didn't expect Key to go along with it, but luckily he was saved by the two others.

"Ewwww..." Taemin made a face, as he backed a bit away. He wasn't homophobic, he just found it pretty weird seeing his two Hyung's acting so familiar with each other, "we promise, we won't cook, if you just never do that again."

Sometimes it was easy to hear, that Taemin was the youngest, since there were lot of things, he still had to learn, so Key smiled a bit, as he ruffled up the younger's hair.

"But I wanted to eat eggs," Onew mumbled aggrieved as he sent the eggs, which were still laying on the kitchen table, an intense glare telling them to go cook themselves.

"But Hyung," Jonghyun sounded almost surprised, as he looked at Onew while faking a shocked expression, "I thought you only ate chicken!"

"Eggs comes from chicken," Onew stated blankly, as he looked like someone who tried to make a young kid understand something really simple.

"Make Minho cook for you then," Key sighed, as he pushed a mumbling Jonghyun out of the door with him, "We'll see you guys later tonight."

"I know eggs comes from chicken!" Jonghyun burst out, as the door closed behind them, but Key just ignored him, as he made his way down the stairs expecting that Jonghyun would follow him at some point.

Half an hour later the two of them arrived in front of the restaurant, where they were supposed to eat. Key were awed over the fact, that it looked so prestige. He usually forgot, that Jonghyun was the son of a rich family.

"So what do you think?" Jonghyun grinned at him making him feel a bit guilty about going out with him, when he knew, he should be at work. He didn't like ditching like this.

"Why does it feel like we're going on a date?" Key shivered a bit by the thought, since he actually had liked the tone of it. Him on a date with Jonghyun.

"What if we were?" Jonghyun winked at him, as the two of them entered the restaurant, where Jonghyun told the waiter, that he had reserved a table for two earlier that day.

The restaurant was enormous, and it screamed rich everywhere you looked. This was surely not the kind of place a normal person would go.

People sat around round tables dressed with red tablecloths on  top. Each table had a different flower decorations in the middle with candle lights surrounding it lightening up the people, who sat around the table.

A nice scent of food could be smelled, while a nice dressed piano player sat in one of the corners making the music flow nicely throughout the room only interrupted by the chatter coming from the tables.

"So what do you think?" Jonghyun smiled, as he walked up to Key, who had been trying to make an overview of the place, as they had been followed to their table.

"I expected nothing less," Key said with as much confidence he could muster, as he didn't want Jonghyun to notice his insecurity about being such an expensive place.

But somehow he was also looking forward to see how the evening would unfold itself.

Chapter 44: will u guys keep writing for closer, faster? it's seriously good. it didn't feel rushed, the chapters you guys wrote so far. it felt like getting to know the characters individually and together at the same time. the relationship also was progressing slowly, not too rushed.
