L walked into the elevator with deflated shoulders. His head was hung low. His mind flashed back to when he saw you and Sunggyu kissing. He gritted his teeth filled with anger and jealousy he punched the wall hard. For sure it’ll leave a temporary bruise.

He sighed and pressed the button to the first floor. He leaned back against the wall and closed his eyes. *How could this have happened?*

The elevator doors opened and L pushed himself off the wall and head to the café in the lobby. He went to the cash register and asked for some coffee.

He took his coffee and sat down at a table. To L’s luck, the café was empty so he didn’t have to worry about fans coming to bother him.

His mind was off to somewhere else as he slowly stirred his coffee.

Then came a big slam on the table and the coffee shook. L didn’t notice. The slap you gave him earlier kept replaying his mind.

*This is a nightmare. ~~~~~ can never do this me!* L kept stirring his coffee.

“Yah!” Sungyeol yelled in his ear and he jumped. “What the hell do you want?!” L scowled and glared at Sungyeol. Sungyeol sat down. “I shouldn’t have let you see her. She’s crying right now, do you know that? What did you do to her!?” Sungyeol yelled.

“She’s still crying?” L frowned and continued to stir his coffee. “What did you do to her?” Sungyeol asked again. “I kissed her…” L murmured.

“Mwoh?” Sungyeol’s eyes were about to pop out. “Aish… You… You’re a stranger to her! Why would you kiss her?” Sungyeol noticed that L’s cheek was slightly pink on one side.

“Dude, One side of your cheek is blushing.” Sungyeol pointed. “~~~~~ slapped me.”

“She what?” Sungyeol then started to burst of laughter. “She slapped you!” He couldn’t stop laughing. Instantly Sungyeol’s expression changed he turned serious. “Good! You deserve it for leave her and-“ Sungyeol stopped.

L perked up from his coffee and stared at Sungyeol. “And who?” “Oh, ~~~~~’s hungry, I must go get her some food before she starves.” Sungyeol changed the subject and darted to the cash register. L went after Sungyeol and grabbed his shoulder so that he could face L.

“Hyung, someone else is involved in this as well?” L curiously asked. Sungyeol sighed. “Do you not remember anything a few days before you left ~~~~~?”

L stood there, trying to think of something. But all he could remember was your smile. “And of course you don’t.” Sungyeol said. “Selfish.” Sungyeol muttered and went off to buy you food.

L stood there dumbfounded, not knowing what Sungyeol was trying to say. He had no schedules during the day today so he decided to stay in the hospital and made sure that he was out of your sight. He was trying to find a way to make you forgive him once and for all.

He sat on the chair by your room. He had his elbows resting on his legs as he tried to think of what Sungyeol meant when he said: “Do you not remember anything a few days before you left ~~~~~?”

L sighed and rubbed his palms against his face. *What happened?*

Woohyun passed by with a nurse and noticed L alone. “Take the reports to my room please.” He handed the report folders of patients to the nurse. “Sure.” She left with them.

L felt a figure sitting next to him and saw that it was Woohyun. Woohyun had his hands crossed leaning his back against the wall.

“I’ve been meaning to ask you-“ Woohyun paused for a second and spoke again. “Why?” He asked. L turned his heard slightly to the side to face Woohyun. He put on a confused look.

“Wat I meant was, Why did you leave ~~~~~ in the first place? You both have been there for each other for more than 10 years and I don’t remember a day when you both were apart from each other.” Woohyun started. L’s eyes drifted somewhere else.

“I did it to protect her.” L interlaced both his hands together and played with his thumbs. “A while before I left her, I got strange phone calls and messages telling me to break up with ~~~~~~~ or she’ll get hurt. I ignored it because I thought it was just a prank. But then it started to get serious and I started getting mail from that certain person as well. In the mail I would receive pictures of ~~~~~ and I all destroyed. On the picture, she was scratched out and everything. It concerned me a lot. So I had to take action before that really happened to her.” L closed his eyes. He didn’t know what he would do if he lost you.

“You could have just told her about it or call the police?” Woohyun asked. “I didn’t want to get her paranoid or get her scared and obviously I wouldn’t report it to the police. Come on hyung! What if that person knew? I wouldn’t stand a chance if something bad happened to ~~~~~~.” Woohyun put a hand on L’s back.

“Sungyeol, Dongwoo and I took good care of her while you were gone for training. So nothing happened to her. But seriously, dude. If I were to be the one dating ~~~~~~, I would have stayed to protect her instead of running away.” Woohyun shook his head with disappointment and got up to walk away.

*He’s right.* L watch him leave and a sigh escape through his mouth.
