Black Notebook

Mir wobbled after Joon, trying to keep up with the long strides Joon was taking once their flight reached Seoul. It was fortunate that Yunho had decided in the last minute to follow both Mir and Joon to Seoul after seeing how tense the look on Joon's face and how sick Mir appeared to be as if the youngest of the three would collapse just like that. He supported almost half of Mir's weight as they trailed behind raging Joon.

Mir had tried to talk to Joon during the flight but the older rebuffed him with his tense features and dark glare and all Mir could do was shook his head weakly at GO who seemed frustrated at the fact that there was no way of stopping Joon.

"Joon-shi." Joon stopped abruptly and his eyes flickered around until it landed on the private investigator he had hired. Striding towards the older man, he didn't even have to ask when the man took out a A4 size brown envelop. "The evidence is in here. Byunghee-shi is not guilty."

Joon took the file with thoughtful look as he stared at the envelop. "What do you think should I do with this?" He asked after a while.

Mir and Yunho stood beside Joon, their eyes were also on the envelop after exchanging small bow with the private investigator. Mir noticed how Joon's hand trembled while holding the brown envelop. His eyes catching the look on GO's face and slowly, ever so slowly, Mir reached out for the envelop, letting his shaky hand rested there.

"What's in here?" Mir asked in quiet voice.

"Evidence." Joon answered shortly, eyes glued on the envelop. "My hyung... GO hyung is not a murderer."

Mir frowned. He turned towards GO who was standing not too far from them. "What is he talking about, hyung?"

GO looked up, surprised that Mir talked to him openly in public this way, ignoring the weird stare from the other three. "I..."

"You said you have all your memories back. Don't tell me you don't know what he was talking about." Mir pestered, pulling away from Yunho and walked past Joon to stand right in front of GO which to other people who couldn't see, just an empty space.

GO looked around him. "Mir, you're attracting other people. They'll think you're crazy."

                "I don't care."

"Mir-shi. Are you okay?" Yunho landed his hand softly on Mir's shoulder, shaking it a bit.

Mir just gave a nod without taking his eyes off of flustered GO, even when he heard harsh sigh coming from Joon.

"Stop it, Mir." Joon stepped towards Mir too, holding on Mir's arm and tried to turn the younger to face him. "Stop whatever this sick game you're playing at."

"Tell me!" Mir demanded, shaking his hand out of Joon's hold.

GO sighed deeply. "Remember when I told you that I might kill a boy?" Mir nodded. "It wasn't me. When I found the boy, he was already dead and I took the knife lying on the boy's dead body without thinking. AXE used that to frame me for murder just to get me to agree to join them."

"So, it wasn't money?" Mir asked with straight face.

"No, it wasn-" Before GO could finish, Mir threw himself into GO's hold, circling his arms around GO's neck, ignoring the freezing sensation once GO wrapped his own arms around Mir's waist automatically. GO stumbled back at the sudden added weight but instead of falling down on the ground, he floated a few inches in reflex, bringing Mir with him. Sharp breath could be heard from some people around who was watching, including the other three. It must have been weird to see a boy literally floating above the ground after talking alone into thin air but fortunate for Mir, there were only a few passerby witnessing that since it was still quite early in the morning and they were standing behind quite a large accessory plant and vase.

"I knew it wasn't money. I just knew Seungho sunbae was wrong." Mir exclaimed quite happily, pulling away slightly and turned to face the other three who had similar shocked look on their face.

Joon was the first to break out of his trance as he stepped closer to Mir. He looked around slightly before his eyes found Mir again. "Were you... Telling the truth? Is it really him?"

All the while, at the back, Yunho and the private investigator were engaged in a discussion over what had just happen and they just decided to listen in for some information because it seemed to them, Joon probably knew something about the weird incident that happened just now.

Mir let out shaky breath, he seriously feeling sick by time but he tried his best to remain conscious. "Joon hyung. You can feel it too, right? He's just around. Trust your instinct."

Joon's face crumpled and his eyes glistened with unshed tears. As much as he wanted to deny Mir's words, it was the truth. Every single time he had Mir around him and close to him, his chest throb in pain, similar pain that he felt every time he watched over his older brother's unmoving body lying limp on the sickbed. A type of pain that came with longing. A really distinctive pain that could have been easily recognized.  And all he ever wanted was to trust Mir. "But why you?"

Mir shrugged. He had no answer to that.

"I'm sorry for disturbing your moment." The private investigator stepped forward, bearing awkward smile on his face. "But, regarding the thing you ask me to find out." That managed to bring Joon's attention back to the man. "I got to know where the AXE, well, specifically the man who had hit and run your brother." He took out another envelop and gave it to Joon. "My advice is, you take both of these to the police."

"How well do you know about AXE, Jaejong-shi?" Joon asked, eyes back into icy glare. The private investigator let out defeated breath, knowing what point Joon was trying to get across. "Police can't do anything."

"Of course they can't do anything to the group!" Jaejong retorted. "But these two people who had cause your brother to be driven into coma can be charged."

"And then?" Joon asked in taunting manner. "And then what?"

"Joon-shi." Yunho tried to calm the son of his employer.

"And then... You'll get the justice you always want." Jaejong answered confidently.

"What kind of justice?" Joon kept asking, his eyes slightly narrowed.

"They'll be charged for murder attempt." Jaejong's brows bunched slightly. "They'll be put behind the bars." His voice getting smaller, knowing what was to come. He knew perfectly he won't be able to convince Joon but he still wanted to try.

"That's not enough." Joon said and tried to leave with the two envelops but Mir snatched them away, hugging those brown envelops close to his chest.

"GO hyung doesn't want this." Mir conveyed. "It's too dangerous."

"He doesn't have a say in this." Joon dismissed and snatched the envelops back easily.

Mir tried to follow after Joon, only managed to stumble forward weakly and again, Yunho was quick and caught his arm. "You need to go to the hospital." He said worryingly when Mir's face just getting even paler than before.

Mir shook his head, eyes following Joon's figure who was stepping out of the building and halting off a taxi. "Ani! I need to follow him. Jaejong-shi?" Mir called, doubting himself if he got the name right.

                "Yes?" Jaejong responded.

"Where is he going? You know it, don't you?"

Jaejong inhaled deeply. "We should call the police." He mumbled, barely heard by the other two.

"I'll do that. Meanwhile, let's just go after Joon-shi. He might be in danger." Yunho interrupted already holding on Mir's shoulder seeing how the teenager was hunched over, looking deadly exhausted. "But, you'll need to stay in the car." He continued, eyeing Mir. When Mir opened his mouth to retorted, he cut the boy off. "Or I'll drop you off at the hospital." He said sternly almost having that fatherly aura around him and Mir could only nodded once, albeit reluctantly. Yunho turned back to Jaejong, raising his brow inquiringly for the answer.

Jaejong looked down thoughtfully for a few seconds before reluctantly agreed and guided the two stranger towards the exit. "I must warn you first. We're not dealing with something easy."

                "Thought so."

"They're making illegal shipment tonight?"

Jaejong nodded to Yunho's question. His eyes didn't leave the road. When he agreed to take these two towards the place Joon was heading to, he was glad he drove his car to the airport before. "I made another copy of the evidence of their crime. Not much but if the police have some balls, then-"

"Hey!" Yunho frowned at Jaejong. "Watch your words. There's a kid in here." He hissed, tilting his head towards Mir who was sitting at the backseat, causing Jaejong to bit his tongue.

"I'm not a kid." Mir mumbled poutily.

"Whatever you say, kiddo." Yunho smiled towards the youngest in the car, a smile which was supposed to be comforting but just irritate Mir because of the word "kiddo".

Jaejong cleared his throat. "Urm, I mean if the police have conscience and determination to actually fight against AXE, the evidence that I collected might help a bit. But more importantly, the evidence of the hit and run is really strong, though I doubt Joon-shi would agree to hand over those two to police." Jaejong sighed deeply.

"Why? He wants justice, doesn't he?" Yunho asked.

"There will never be justice when AXE is involved." Mir chipped in, eyes gazing sadly to the worried GO.

Jaejong nodded to Mir's words. "Exactly. We can charge the two involved in GO's hit and run for murder attempt but that's all. I don't think Joon-shi want that kind of justice."

Yunho sunk into the seat, shaking his head slowly. "I understand his feeling, but I'm pretty sure his older brother wouldn't want him to do this. Though I don't really know GO-shi personality."

"GO hyung wouldn't allow this if he could. I wouldn't allow this." Mir muttered, casting determined gaze out of the window, he slipped his hands into GO's cold hand, giving reassuring squeeze that he would do his best to stop Joon from harming himself.

Mir winced when he heard sound of something dull hitting on flesh. Yunho had ordered him to stay in the car half an hour ago but he wouldn't stay put, not when there was no sign of Yunho, Joon or even Jaejong coming out of the warehouse after having to wait for half an hour. Not even GO. Mir had gave a call to Rain before he stepped out of the safety of Jaejong's car and towards the direction where Yunho, Jaejong and GO had gone to just as precaution in case anything bad happened to him. He trust Rain, probably more than police. By the sound of it, he bet he kind of scared Rain a bit. What can he do? He was just as damn scared right at this moment. But it was fortunate that he had chance to explain to Leo as well. Though Rain might be a bit anxious, he thought, maybe Leo could be calmer in making decision.

Mir used the damp moldy wall to help him walked towards the sound. He looked around the area. Luckily the sun was shining brightly already or it would have scared Mir even more than now. This place was car dump. Hundreds of wrecked cars were put into piles almost as high as a mountain. The place seemed to be void of any soul but Mir knew better.

Wandering around a few old buildings which looked like warehouse he finally found the largest one stood quite hidden behind two piles of broken parts of cars. Dragging his weak feet towards the place, he clenched tighter on Yunho's coat which was still around him. As he was getting closer, he could hear the sounds of beating and people speaking getting clearer.

                This is it!

Carefully stepping so he didn't attract any unneeded attention, Mir crept along the wall until he reached the main door which was slightly opened.  Inhaling deeply, he peeked through the opening and searched through the large space inside the old bulding. It was quite dark, only have a few rays of morning sun peeking through some of the windows up close to the ceiling. Mir's eyes widened when he finally saw where Joon, Yunho and Jaejong were. All three of the men were on their knees, their hands were restrained by some built men. They looked equally battered but it seemed that Joon still have it in him to keep growling towards another man with metal chain around his fist which had spots of blood on it, undoubtedly, Joon's.

Mir let his eyes wondered further but strangely he couldn't spot GO. Where did GO go to? As he was thinking that, he felt cold presence behind him and familiar voice whispering close to his ears, filled with guilt.

"I'm sorry. I have to do this."

Before Mir could react to GO's words, he saw movement from the corner of his eyes until finally he saw GO's pale hands enclosing his small body and disappeared. Rush of freezing cold spread through his vein throughout his whole body, numbing his senses. It was as if he was trapped in an ice block. And right then and there, he realized...

GO was taking over his body.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Rain scratched the back of his head in confusion as he eyed Sanghyuk's distressed look. He didn't expect to be greeted by Sanghyuk's anxious question on where Mir was while jumbling with his words which Rain only could catch just a few of them such as "Danger" and "Quick" when he came to the shop this morning.

Leo who was only watching before, couldn't stay behind and walked up to the duo, pushing Sanghyuk slightly to the side. "We know about the ghost, and I believe you do too." At his words, not only did Rain got shocked, but Sanghyuk as well.

"You knew?" Sanghyuk squeaked, looking wide eyes at Rain who also had his small eyes opened like saucers. He had been troubled on how to explain to Rain on this situation only to have the older already known about the ghost? The situation?

"How did you know?" Rain asked suspiciously, narrowing his eyes.

Leo's eyes flickered towards Sanghyuk for a second, letting out a small quiet sigh. "I can see him. That spirit. And... Others." He continued hesistantly.

                "Others? What do you mean?"

"Other spirits..." Leo inhaled deeply. "Around your dongsaeng."

Rain slammed his palms flat on the counter. "There are others?" He half-yelled.

"It's a long story Jihoon-shi. But Mir is in danger now. Where is he?" Sanghyuk interrupted, face tensed with anxiety and worries. He hoped they weren't too late.

"He said he's in Busan but I-" Rain's sentence was cut short when his phone buzzed in his back pocket. He took out the device, and his face lit up at the name on the screen. Sliding the screen open, he almost shout, "Mir! Where are you?" However, his face darkened as seconds passed, causing both Leo and Sanghyuk to exchange a look and when their employer weakly swaying and almost fall on the ground, both of them support Rain of both Rain's side. "W-what?" Rain breathed out weakly, face paling.

"Jihoon-shi. What's wrong?" Sanghyuk shook Rain's shoulder but the latter couldn't hear anything around him anymore.

Seeing the catatonic state Rain was currently in, Leo took the device out of Rain's already weak grasp. "Hello?" Leo remained quiet as he heard Mir's shaky voice on the other line, frowning deeply. Sure, the thing Mir was explaining was already worrying but Mir's voice, the weakness in it, worried Leo even further. Mir was in great danger.

Chapter 40: I wish you would continue this at least for epilogue maybe... this is really great but this still felt incomplete for me... and it's kinda unfair for byunghee to get hate from others since he doesn't remember a thing, if only they knew what he feels...
I hope you'll make epilogue or sequel for this...
