Black Notebook

Rain entered Mir's room. He looked around his dongsaeng's room, eyes blinking a few times. What? He came in here with the intention to tidy up Mir's room like he used to but it was already neat and tidy. Bed was made up, books were arranged neatly, clothes folded and hung, even pressed if he looked closely. The small bin he bought for Mir's room was empty as well and not even a speck of dust visible in this room. Weird... Mir wasn't really one to clean his room this way. Unless...

Rain rolled his eyes. Mir probably used GO to clean his room. He was about to leave the room when he saw the sketchbook which was supposed to be in his keep, lying innocently on the study table. He took the book away from Mir when he helped Mir and their mother packing up to move in with him because of the sketch of a small boy in the book. He had thought maybe that was Jaejin and he didn't want anything remotely related and would remind Mir to the period where Mir was sick to be anywhere in the open where Mir would easily see. How come it was back in Mir's possession?

Rain flipped opened the book and scan the old drawing of Jaejin. Now that Mir had proven GO wasn't his own imagination of his sick mind, Rain wondered whether Jaejin was actually real. As real as GO. Most probably, yes because no matter how desperately he wanted to deny, his own instinct told him there was another present around Mir during that time. But he didn't believe in those things. So, he deduced that Mir was sick and needed treatment. Apparently, he was wrong all along.

He flipped through all the new drawing Mir made and smiled as he saw the sketch of himself, lying on the sofa in the living room, sleeping with mouth hung opened. Mir did pay quite details on his sketches. Entertaining himself with a few sketches, Rain sat on Mir's bed, lightly chuckled when he found full two pages of sketching in the kitchen where their mother was looking rush, running around from sink over flooded with soapy water and bubbles to a pot of soup that seemed to be overcooked contents boiled up and spilling, Rain was sitting at the chair laughing and pointing at their mother. He remembered this as clear as the day. Rain ended up getting whacked on the back of his head for not helping and laughing instead and they had to cleaned up the mess of the kitchen that day. He nodded at a few familiar faces in the next page. He knew all of the three faces since they were all in his PE class. He was glad they became Mir's best friend since he knew they were all good kids.

Once he leafed through a few next pages, they were all filled with the drawings of GO. Of course he still remembered how GO looked like. That kid was kind of popular with the teachers for being a great student and became even more as topic of discussion among teachers when the boy's attitude started changing and was having problem with his attendance just a few months before the accident.

Rain never really paid attention because GO was never under his homeroom care. He heard rumors about the poor boy, shared his sympathy, that was all. But now, there that boy in a form of spirit, following his little brother around. Sometimes, he regretted for arranging Mir to study in the same school he was working at. He just wanted Mir to have a normal life.

"Jihoon! Can you look who's at the door? I'm in the shower." Their umma's voice suddenly echoed from outside of the room and only then Rain realized the doorbell had rung for quite sometimes already. Taking the book with him, he jogged towards the door, opening it to be greeted with sight of unexpected guests.

The two teenagers by the door looked just as surprised as Rain. "Mr. Jung?"

                "Yes?"

One of the two boys, the taller one stepped back and his eyes scanning the number of house stamped at the post before coming back to ask carefully, "Isn't this Mir's house?"

                "Yea, it is."

The shorter one looked at the taller one with question that obviously the taller one had no answer for as he shrugged unknowingly.

Rain chuckled. So, Mir didn't tell anyone about them being siblings. "I'm his hyung." Rain blurted out.

"You are?" The taller one squeaked. His eyes wide and his mouth hang opened.

"Yes, Sanghyun. If you're looking for him, he had gone to spend the weekend with Changsun." Rain explained, leaning on the doorframe. His eyes flickered once to Seungho. Rain could understand if Sanghyun or Lizzy or Nicole came to their house to find Mir but he couldn't seem to understand why Seungho was here. It seemed weird for Seungho to just simply tag along to hang out. Not after the accident at least. This boy's personality just wasn't like that. And he was pretty sure Mir and Seungho weren't friend.

Sanghyun opened and closed his mouth, trying to absorbed the new shocking information before he pointed an accusing finger to Rain. "No wonder you have been so biased on him." Sanghyun groaned to himself. "How can I not notice? He even stayed behind at school to help you almost every day."

Rain shook his head at his student's antics and flicked Sanghyun's forehead as a punishment. "I'm not allowing you to address me so casually like that." He warned, ignoring the fact that Mir had lied to his friend because he already knew whom Mir stayed with. Wasn't him but GO, he thought bitterly.

Noticing his mistake, Sanghyun quickly did a folder greeting. "I'm sorry Mr. Jung."

                "Apology accepted."

Seungho cleared his throat to catch the two attention before finally breaking his silence. "Did you just say Mir went out with Changsun?" Rain nodded. There was unreadable expression on Seungho's face before he opened his mouth to speak again but feminine voice of Rain's mother cut him off.

"Why are you letting this poor kids standing out there. Invite them in. I'll make some cold drink." The door was pushed open even wider and their umma popped up her head from behind the door with sunny smile resembling Mir. She even pushed Rain out of the way as she grabbed a hold on each of Sanghyun's and Seungho's hands, pulling them inside.

Already know well of his umma's personality, Rain didn't bother to say anything and just followed from behind as their umma pushed both the teenagers onto the couch in the living room almost forcefully. "Good timing you kiddos because I just baked some cake this morning." She skipped into the kitchen cheerfully.

"Well... She really does resemble Mir." Sanghyun commented with a smile.

"She does." Rain echoed with adoring smile. He joined his student by sitting at the single armchair, putting the sketchbook he had been holding onto the coffee table in the middle of their sitting.

"Actually... We're just here for Mir." Seungho explained.

"I know but just stay for a bit. My mom might tied you to her kitchen and shove the cake down your throat if you try to leave right now." Rain joked.

"Well, then. Not that we have any choice." Sanghyun laughed mechanically and somehow the conversation turned towards the school work and assignment which Sanghyun still hadn't started up with and got himself a free lecture from Rain.

Seungho just sat there listening until his hand reached out for the abandoned sketchbook just to ease the boredom of being left out of the conversation only to have himself frozen once he reached the pages filled with sketches of GO.

Things that even left Seungho speechless was that all the sketches of GO seemed new and it seemed that the person drawing this was making GO looked like he was flying. "Did you draw this?" Seungho's sudden question stopped Rain's lecture halfway which Sanghyun was silently grateful of.

                "No, it's Mir."

Seungho almost crumpled the sketchbook in his hand as again Mir was related to GO. How did Mir being able to draw GO perfectly this way when the younger haven't met GO even once for the fact? Trying to control the storm in his mind, Seungho stood abruptly. "I-I have to go." And he left just as quick without the others able to stop him.

"Hyung." Sanghyun called out and tried to run after his cousin but then his eyes caught the sketches in the opened book Seungho had dumped on the couch next to him. It was GO...

Leo was the first to bow down politely, greeting with his small almost unheard voice as Rain walked into the room. Sanghyuk copied just second after Leo whacked him in the head for spacing out. Being a friendly employer, Rain waved the two boys off and headed straight into his office.

"Hyung?" Sanghyuk called out, his eyes glued to the closed door of Rain's office. He dropped the feather duster in his hand as he shivered almost uncontrollably.

Leo sighed. He went up to Sanghyuk and patted the younger's head comfortingly. "I know." He said. He knew. He couldn't see because 'it' wasn't here but the smell of blood was too strong around Rain and though Sanghyuk wasn't as sensitive as him, the sense was too strong and Sanghyuk was still too young and weak for this.

"I-it... What is it?" He finally asked, shrinking into himself as his face portray real horror. He didn't know what, but he sensed something dangerous and the presence was too big to be missed. And it make his skin crawl in fear.

"I don't know." Leo rounded his arms around Sanghyuk's trembling figure. "But it definitely just some left sense around Rain. Whatever it is, it's not here right now. And I don't think Jihoon-shi was the one it want." He explained. Despite the smell of blood being so strong, the thing emitting it wasn't here. But it definitely had been around Rain and the only explanation was... Something he afraid to even talk about.

Sanghyuk gasped and looked up to Leo. His eyes went even wider. "You mean whatever that thing is... It is..." Sanghyuk had heard about this before but he had never experienced it first hand and he doubted Leo had too. But the uncanny story he had heard from his aunt, Leo's mother, was unmistakable. It was definitely it and Leo had just confirmed it to his dismay. And even worse, with that darkness left around Rain, there was only one person they could think that it was aiming for...

Leo nodded. He was good in keeping straight face in any condition he was in but this present had knocked his guard up self down. He couldn't help the wince distorting his face. "No doubt. It is now... Around Mir."

I show my mom MBLAQ video and she ask me why there's a woman in there and it turn out that she thought Joon is a 'she' (during G.O.O.D luv). Then she said Seungho look like.... Well, I think it might be better if I don't tell you guys. The only thing she get it right was then when I ask between Sanghyun and Mir, who's the younger. Owh... My mom just hurt my heart (TTTTT^TTTTT)

Chapter 40: I wish you would continue this at least for epilogue maybe... this is really great but this still felt incomplete for me... and it's kinda unfair for byunghee to get hate from others since he doesn't remember a thing, if only they knew what he feels...
I hope you'll make epilogue or sequel for this...
