Black Notebook

"Is he still here?" Rain asked and Mir nodded. Rain noticed how Mir's soft brown orbs darted to the corner of the kitchen.

"I can prove it." Mir piped up and nodded slightly at GO which GO nodded back and disappeared behind the door since GO couldn't touch anything other that Mir's possession.

However, the small sigh escaping Rain's mouth caused Mir's face to crumble. He knew Rain didn't believe him. He didn't even know why Rain still wanted to play along with him. Was Rain thinking him as an idiot?

"Jihoon." Came their mother's voice from the sink, warning her oldest son. Her attention however was split between washing the dishes and her son's problem though obviously more than half of her attention on Mir. "Give him chance."

Their mother actually didn't believe in Mir's words either. Ghost? No one would easily believe that nonsense. But Mir is her son. And she saw how Mir suffered before and didn't want to repeat the same mistake. This time, she would try to give in. She would try to play along and see how it goes.

Hopefully it work well this time...

"Okay, fine." Rain started again, taking Mir's smaller hand into his. "You know how to draw. So, draw him though it isn't really a solid proof..." Rain trailed off to the end.

"Why wouldn't it be solid proof?" Mir asked, frowning. He thoughtthat was a pretty good idea. He knew how to draw. Drawing GO was easy. He drew potrait all the time. Well, used to since he hadn't drew ever since he moved to Seoul. Blame the ghost for occupying his time. More than he preferred.

"You might have seen his picture somewhere. Maybe in the school. Maybe in student's file. Anywhere."

Well... Mir couldn't really say anything against that. Maybe he really did and forgot about it but his subconscious didn't. But as he was nodding to Rain's words, he heard gasp and sound of glass shattering. "Umma!" Mir called out when he saw her mother was already sitting on the floor, the washing gloves still on her hand and shards of broken plates lies next to her legs.

Both Rain and Mir ran to her side. "Umma. What's wrong?" Rain asked but their mother won't answer. Rain doubt she even heard him. Seeing the horror in their mother's eyes, Rain turned to look at the same direction their mother was looking at. What he saw made his legs turned jelly. He plopped down next to his mother.

Mir got some of the idea what his mother and brother were seeing when he finally looked at the same direction. Most probably floating manga of death note but he, himself... He saw GO holding on the manga, smiling apologetically to Mir for scaring Mir's family. Mir didn't blame GO. How else he was going to prove he was really seeing a dead spirit?

"Urm... Umma. Hyung. That's GO hyung." And GO just waved awkwardly using the manga in his hands. Well now at least Mir knew he wasn't insane and that his umma and his hyung finally would believe his words.

Mir didn't show it but he sure was glad GO wasn't just an image made up by his sick mind.

GO poked on Mir's ribs when the younger kept ignoring him. He ended up had to hook his arms under Mir's arms and lift the boy into the air to get back his attention.

Mir squeaked when he felt his feet weren't touching the ground. "Yah! Put me down!" Mir ordered and GO let the boy down.

"Now, will you stop spacing out?" GO asked, floating while doing backflip until he landed on one of the boxes lying around Mir's room.

Mir let out a long breath. "I was just thinking." Mir mumbled. He was still a bit worried about his mother and older brother. They seemed still terrified and utterly shocked at the presence of dead spirit in their house, following Mir around.

A knock on the door and the door creaked open. "Mir." His mother poke only her head into the room with a wide grin which kind of weirded Mir out a bit. Why would she smile like that? "Can you ask your GO hyung if there're any other ghost in this house?"

Mir gawked. GO blinked. They exchanged look when GO stiffly shook his head.

"Urm... No." Mir answered slowly.

Their mother dramatically let out a loud deep breath. "Thank god!" And she went away closing the door behind her.

The left duo in the room once again exchange a look before they laughed to themselves. "Your family is so unique." GO managed between his laugh.

Mir heaved in and rolled down from his bed, crawling to the boxes around the room and started arranging his thing. "Yea I know."

GO chuckled and float above one of unopened box and just helped the younger without being asked. "You know. When I said your family, I meant you as well."

"Huh? Am I unique?"

"Unique and weird." GO smiled when Mir shot him fake hurtful look. "So... You've seen spirit before? Before me?"

"I don't know. I guess so." Mir drifted his eyes back to the shelf he was filling with his mangas. When GO asked for the reasons, Mir found himself frowning and clutching on his manga with more force than needed. He tried to think. He tried to remember but his memories were tampered. His childhood memories were defected.

When he still had some memories of his childhood, happy memories with his family, painful memories of having no friend, he just couldn't recall some parts of his memories. It was as if those parts just... Black. Nothing but black.

Mir chewed on his lips. He guessed he had similarities with GO. He couldn't remember... However... He kept dreaming of a boy. A small boy, probably three. He couldn't see his face though but he could feel it. He could feel he was his friend despite him remembering himself having no friend. Maybe that was the spirit that made Rain and umma thought of him as insane. He could never be sure though.

Mir blinked when he felt cold finger nudged in between his knitted brow, effectively making him stopped frowning and his features relaxed.

"That kind of look doesn't suit you." GO said and used both his thumbs to press on the corners of Mir's lips. "Smile."

Who wouldn't smile at that action? It was cute. Even to Mir. But still... Mir frowned again. "Are you trying to freeze my face? Your hands are too cold." Mir pulled away and stuck out his tongue at GO playfully.

GO gasped and pouted. "You just have to ruin the moment, don't you?" He complained and went back to helping Mir arranging all the things. Both didn't notice Rain who was watching from the narrow slit of the slightly open door.

Rain's face showed no emotion as he watched Mir talking to himself- Ani, talking and laughing with a ghost despite his brain was whirling, ticking and working more than usual. There was unsettled feeling in the pit of his stomach and he didn't like it at all...

Mir smiled contentedly seeing how his room now was complete. Now what was left was to store all the boxes and container into the store. Taking all into his arms, he started towards the door but with his full arms and even his view was blocked he almost trip with nothing and instead of the door, he actually headed straight into the wall.

GO had enjoyed the view Mir was struggling with all the boxes but helped in the end. He picked up half of them and opened the door for Mir only to met with Rain whose eyes immediately darted towards the floating boxes. Mir didn't seem to notice him there though.

Mir might have already told him how GO was just a normal... Ghost. But still... It wasn't what normal boy like Mir should get associated with and he still couldn't get comfortable to the idea of his one and only dongsaeng was having a ghost as a friend.

Rain followed Mir wordlessly until Mir put all the boxes tidily in the store. He smiled slightly when Mir jumped just as he realized Rain was behind him. "Hyung. You scared me." Mir whined and lightly punched Rain's arm.

"I scared you? Ghost doesn't?" Rain couldn't really restrain the sarcasm dripping in his voice but quickly covered up when Mir's face fell. "I'm going to our store for look out. Do you want to come with me?" When Mir nodded, Rain wasted no time and grabbed Mir's hand but stopped dead halfway.

"Hyung?"

Rain slowly turned around. His eyes were looking past Mir. "Is he coming too?" He asked slowly, almost uninviting.

Mir turned to see the sad glint in GO's eyes. He smiled encouragingly to GO before he turned back and nodded firmly to Rain's question. His gaze didn't falter from Rain.

Rain didn't say anything. He couldn't say anything when Mir was shooting him that look. He knew Mir treasured all of his friends and apparently this ghost is one of Mir's precious friend. He didn't really have a say in this. Not when Mir was this... Hurm, if he needed to choose the word, attached to GO. Too attached for his liking.

"Hyung. I just want to help him. Can't you at least support me? I'm doing something nice." Mir shook his hand in Rain's hold slightly to call for his hyung's attention.

Rain nodded, albeit reluctantly. How could he trust a ghost? One he couldn't see. What if this GO hurt his brother? How would he protect his brother from something unseen? Even now, he felt like Mir was too far from him. Out of the reach of the safety namely, Rain.

Mir sensed the distress in his older brother's eyes though he couldn't really comprehend why was his hyung so suspicious on GO? GO was a good friend and a good hyung. He wished Rain would stop worrying about him so much. And just trust him.

Chapter 40: I wish you would continue this at least for epilogue maybe... this is really great but this still felt incomplete for me... and it's kinda unfair for byunghee to get hate from others since he doesn't remember a thing, if only they knew what he feels...
I hope you'll make epilogue or sequel for this...
