Chapter 76:

“Patience”

COTINUING FROM “Troubled Heart” CHAPTER…

Yes I am patient. In fact , I am so patient that I did not even make an attempt to call him even if it has been more than 8 hours without texting me. I sigh as I look at my phone furiously…

“Teacher?”- A small voice woke me up from my trance

“Yes?”- I look over and I see my students looking at me with curious eyes

“Is something bothering you Miss?”- One of the little boys asked me

“Nothing… nothing at all”- I sigh again as I close my phone and went back teaching

Hours passed by very quickly that I did not even notice it’s already past 1PM and still no So Yi Jeong. I sigh once again feeling helpless, after last night’s talk I don’t know what he’s thinking now…

FLASHBACK: Last Night… ( Ga Eul’s POV)

While Yi Jeong and I were  having our dinner (in the car) everything was going great, he shared what kept him busy the whole day and same with me. Then I broke the news…

“Sunbae…”- Trying to brace myself and finding the right words

“Yeah?”- He looks at me as he chews his food

“Jan Di called me before end of my shift today”- I start with a cautious voice

“Yeah? What did she say?”- Innocently asks as he looks at his food

“She said she’ll ask Jun Pyo to move the wedding and engagement date”-The I said it wheew

He stops and raises his head from his food and looks at me intently

“What do you mean moving? Something happened?”- He asks now putting down his meal box on top of the dashboard

“With the whole Hae Jin going on and you guys worried about her, she was thinking it’ll be for the best. Once this whole thing is fixed she and Jun Pyo plus everyone can go back and plan for the wedding”- Trying not to choke on my words I feel bad for Jan Di, she’s been going on about how being so excited with the planning of the wedding and was definitely looking forward for the pre-wedding photo shoot.

“I understand…”- That’s all he said with those sad eyes

As we drove back to his workshop, he just held my hand while walking. Once we arrived, he shared he’ll have a photo shoot for a magazine that will cover his successful venture in New Zealand and probably address the circulating rumors of him being engaged to me.

“Really? That’s a good opportunity”- Trying to lighten up the mood

“Yeah, I thought so too”- He answered without looking at me

It was almost 7PM when I told him I need to go home early as I have an early class.

“That early? I’ll just get my coat and I’ll drive you home”- He said as he was about to leave and get his coat when…

“Oh, I was thinking since you have projects to finish. I’ll go ahead and just hail a cab that’s no biggie”- Trying to smile

“Are you sure? I mean, I do have deadlines to meet this week”- He shares with a deep sigh

“Yup, I am sure”- Trying to hide the disappointment, I mean before he would definitely insist

“Ga Eul-ah”- He calls and wakes me up from my trance once again

“Come here…”- He pull me into an embrace as he whispers…

“Thank you for always understanding me. For being patient and taking care of me”- I didn’t know what to say except to smile and take in the words… after all this time he still manages to make my heart skip a beat.

END OF FLASHBACK

And here I am. Moping around that he has not sent a single text since last night. Every molecule in my body wants to call him but my mind says no that he needs a little bit of space for himself.

Then I remembered. I need to leave and go to one of the restaurants that Jan Di and Jun Pyo wanting to have their food catered. Though the planning has been halted, this one can’t be as it took awhile for us to schedule an appointment with the head chef.

As I arrived at Brera Italian Restaurant, it shows how beautiful it is from the outside to the interior designs. It might not be as luxurious as most of the restaurant we have been dining by the looks at it even it looks like a regular restaurant but it is highly recommended by our close friends.

With the homey feeling and the smell of Italian culture linger on the air. I took a snap of photo as I went inside.

A girl approached me in an office attire well not really office more of a formal attire. Thank goodness I change clothes before coming here.

As she welcomes me, I saw a vase behind her so familiar. The girl must’ve noticed me staring at it.

“Curious about the vase Miss?”- She asks politely

“Oh, it’s one of the limited edition vases of Master Poter”- She boasts and I must’ve blushed wildly at that moment

“Really?”- I blurted it out

“Yup, our head chef here is fan of him and eventually grabbed one of the vases under the flora collection” – She further explains and then it hit me. It’s familiar as I remember Yi Jeong-sunbae making a whole collection dedicated to me while in New Zealand. He only sent me a picture; I did not get the chance to see them personally.

“The chef went out miss”- one of the attendants called our attention

“Oh? Doesn’t he remember he has a scheduled appointment today?”- The girl who has been talking to me comments with frustration

I sigh as she apologizes for the inconvenience. It seems their Head Chef left in a hurry.

“No worries I’ll come back tomorrow instead then”- I courteously bowed thanking her hospitality and left the restaurant. I took off my blazer as I feel so hot for some reason then I bumped into someone.

I looked at that person then he points at me.

“I’m sorry… you seem to look familiar”- He says and I got annoyed for some reason

“No worries”- Then I walk furiously, well for some reason I got annoyed.

As I meet the outside air it felt cold again and I wore back my jacket. I feel so hormonal as I suddenly got teary-eyed remembering how Yi Jeong-sunbae has not contacted me yet. I really miss him already.

“Aigoo. Why is this beautiful girl crying?”- A warm voice caught my attention as I look up…

(Phone ringing)

??: Yeobeoseoyeo?

??: Hey. Hyun-ah remember the girl you mentioned back when you attended a corporate event?

JH: What girl?

??: The girl with So Yi Jeong.

JH: Oh. Weoyo?

??: I think I just saw her now.

JH: Really?

??: Yeah. She’s pretty in person.

JH: Careful…

??: Am I not always careful?
