Chapter 74:

“Reap what you sow”

COTINUING FROM “Open arms / Confrontation / Lies” CHAPTER…

 What am I doing? Why am I here? Oh right, I just found out I’m not a Song and that my whole life was full of lies…. It still not sinking in, everything that has happened… this, this is the worst.

Author: Hae Jin’s mind’s flooded with different emotions all racking inside her mind. As she steps out of the cab and enter the villa, a welcoming image of her childhood friend stands forth outside the door.

“Oh Hae Jin…”-Jae Hyun meets Hae Jin halfway and grabs her meeting her with a powerful hug as if shielding Hae Jin from everything .

“Oppa…(sniff2x) I don’t know what’s happening…”-That’s all Hae Jin can say before she suddenly faints

“Hae Jin-ah!”-Jae Hyun was able to catch her before she falls to the ground.

Author: Jae Hyun carries Hae Jin to the house and gently places her to the sofa and quickly fetches water, for few moments Hae Jin regains her consciousness

“Gwenchana?”-Jae Hyun with a worried expression

Author: As Hae Jin try pull herself up with Jae Hyun’s assistance she is able to sit straight, with a sip of water she exhales sharply

“I don’t know…”-Hae Jin, tears are threatening

“Tell me, I’m here”-Jae Hyun reaches for the Hae Jin’s free hand and squeezes it with an assurance

“It’ll sound crazy”-Hae Jin staring through the eyes of Jae Hyun

“I’ve heard worse…”-Jae Hyun chuckles trying to lessen the tensioned atmosphere

“Here goes nothing….”-Hae Jin starts to tell Jae Hyun, with an occasional non-verbal nod here and there and a rub on her shoulders to comfort her throughout the conversation

“That’s horrible…”-Jae Hyun commented after Hae Jin told him what happened

“I know, now I can’t look at them without thinking that whatever they’re going to say is true or not… I don’t know”-Hae Jin shakes her head in disagreement and stands up abruptly breathing heavily

“This is useless to say but everything’s going to be fine… there’s a reason for all of this”-Jae Hyun follows suit and pulls Hae Jin to a long hug

“Thank you Jae Hyun-Oppa for being with me”-Hae Jin whispers to Jae Hyun’s ears

“Of course, where would I rather be? Than by your side?”-Says Jae Hyun then….

Jae Hyun’s thoughts: “I’m sorry Hae Jin-ah, if I can’t have you then I’ll make a way to do so”

FLASHBACK: 2 DAYS AGO… ( JAE HYUN’S POV)

As Jae Hyun tries to paint Hae Jin’s image, he chuckles to himself

“Young Master, you have a call”-one of the maids interrupts his mood

“I’m not available”-Says Jae Hyun not taking his eyes off of his masterpiece

“It sounds urgent”-Says the maid with reluctance she approaches Jae Hyun and offers the phone

“Leave”-Jae Hyun grabs the phone and orders the maid to leave

“Who is this?”-with annoyance Jae Hyun answers the call

“Touché Jae Hyun and I thought we are friends”- A menacing voice from the other end of the line spoke

“Seo Hyun…”-Jae Hyun spoke with a haunting voice

“Hmmm… I got to say the way you say my name is y”-Seo Hyun was able to call using an old mobile phone she has kept it hidden from her nurses and parents

“I’m hanging up…”-Jae Hyun was about to remove the phone from his ear when…

“What if I were to tell you, I can give you the one thing you’ve always wanted…”-Seo Hyun

“What?”-Jae Hyun

“If I were to tell you that I can give you a family and your happiness. What would you say?”-Seo Hyun’s menacing voice echoes as Jae Hyun contemplates the proposal.

After Seo Hyun lays out the plan while Jae Hyun closes his eyes momentarily with shame and disgrace…

“So do we have a deal?”-Seo Hyun says with a challenge

“I’m still staying on the line aren’t I?”-Say Jae Hyun with dismay in his voice

“Well then, do your part”-Says Seo Hyun then there’s dead silence as she disconnects the call.

-AT THE HOSPITAL-

Woo Bin’s doctor and Jae Hyun is seated across each other.

“Did you get the call?”-Asks Jae Hyun

“Yes. I have planted the necessary data, it’s flawless.”-Says the good doctor with a grimace expression

“Then it’s time for the next phase”-Say Jae Hyun as if whispering but loud enough for the doctor to hear it

“How can I be sure that you will fulfill your promise?”-Asks the doctor

“To be honest. You can’t, either way you must push through with the plan if you want your debt to be cleared with her”-Jae Hyun saying in a matter of fact tone.

“Why are you siding with her? This despicable of a plan she has with those poor kids…”-Says the doctor shaking his head in disagreement

“It’s not that I’m siding with her. I’ve lost that person once; I will not go through that again.”-With conviction Jae Hyun ended the conversation with an instruction to fabricate all the data portraying him as a Song and not Hae Jin.

END OF FLASHBACK

AT THE VILLA (JAE HYUN’S POV)

Here I am looking like an idiot mooning over her while she’s asleep. I know for a fact that I am the most despicable person in the world now because of what I did; nothing can even justify my actions that led me to this.

Looking at her asleep, so serene. Doesn’t look like she’s going through anything, all I can think of is thinking of a permanent solution of this. If I want her to be mine then I will need to do something, fidgeting my fingers, biting my lower lip so frustrated and occupied that I did not notice her staring at me from where she’s resting.

“Oppa? Something bothering you?”- Her voice’s hoarse could be from her crying earlier and dumbfounded I am, I did not answer.

“I’m sorry if I intrude like this, if I’m causing you any discomfort…”-She was blabbing about her being a burden and so I snapped.

“Aniyo! Ughh, what I mean is you can’t always think that you’re a burden or everything’s crap because of you…”-Then I see that glint of sadness from her eyes, I suddenly moved over and sat right next to her bed and rubbed her back to comfort her.

“I don’t know”- fidgeting her fingers looking down then an idea strikes me

“You know what, why don’t we go out?”-I ask as I stand in front of her

“Go where?”- She asks as she meets my eyes

“Hmmm… Just come with me”-I grab her hand and direct her to my car and drove away

After almost an hour drive from the house we finally arrived…

“We’re here”- I exclaim as I go out and open the side door for her

“And where’s here?”-she asked as she wraps herself with her jacket

“You’ll see. Come on”- I grab her hand once more and we both go inside the building and to the elevator

“This is Namsan Tower”-I finally revealed as we ride in the elevator

“Huh? I never heard of it though, mianhe”- she immediately response while pouting

“It’s okay; you’ve been gone for quite some time.”- trying to make her feel better

“Oh? Oppa how did you know?”- I mentally kicked myself with my remark. Nice one Jae Hyun

“Ah, I heard about it on the news”- I swiftly responded then with her nod, I know she believed me wheew way to go almost blowing your cover.

“Here we are…”- As we go out of the elevator I pointed the cable car in waiting

“Whoah. We’re riding that? Is it safe? Omo”- she reacted as soon as she saw what I prepared

“Yup we are and yes it is also safe. I’m here so don’t worry”- I immediately wrapped my arm around her, she pulled back a bit but she eventually took another step as soon as she finished sighing

“Just the two of us?”- She asks as we get in the cable car and it closes

“Yup”- I casually respond with a huge smile. Am I not that obvious enough?

As the cable car starts to move then she grabs my arm for support as if scared to fall

“I want to show you something”-I said as I back away from her and cover her eyes with my hands

“What are you doing Oppa?”- She asks frantically

“Wait for a moment”-I responded as I dreadfully wait for the perfect moment

“Almost there. Hana. Du. Se”-I then let go of her and showed her the view I’ve wanted to show her

“Oh my goodness”- She exclaims as she sees the whole city and its beauty

“It’s even better at night”- I said as I stand right next to her staring at her face in awe

“Whoah busy Seoul”- She exclaims

“I come here when I need to think or remind myself what were the reasons why I need to come back here”- Saying with cryptic statement

“Reason? You mean why you came back?”- She asks curiously and I nod lightly in response

“Speaking of. Why did you come back? I mean… not that I did not want you to come back and all. Well you get the idea”- She stumble on her words which makes it even cuter

“Well I lost something and came back to reclaim it again… well sort of”- I chuckled as I replied which I earned a furrow –browed expression from her instead

After our almost 20 minutes ride in the cable car we decided to go to several places instead to kill time and also to take mind off on things

Next stop was going to eat then I forced her to pose as she eats and I take pictures of her. We went to this ice cream parlor as she mentioned she misses eating ice cream.

I told her to pack pastries on the road and as guessed she indeed ate the donuts while we drive to our next stop. Good thing I decided to buy clothes for her as she was unable to change her outfit since earlier.

Our last stop was to a nearby flea market where she found this cute kitten being sold on the side of the road and requested for me to take a photo of her holding it.

Her smile just makes my day and I’m looking like a fool smiling while taking her picture here.

The sunset meets us on the road as we drive back to my house; I constantly steal glances of this girl next to me sleeping.

I carried her to the room and gently tuck her to bed as I go back downstairs and look again on the pictures I took earlier.

“If I can see you smile everyday like this then I won’t care anymore what will the future holds for me. Everything is worth it.”- I comment and sigh as and all the moments we have flashes in my mind.

MEANWHILE…

“I don’t know what I must do… Hae Jin, where are you”- Ji Hoo sighs as he stares his drink at this local bar

“Yoon Ji Hoo”- A cold and haunting voice calls out from behind
