New Addition
OrdealJin Kyong’s POV:
Hansuke was really pissed off after receiving the phone call from some hospital. I was worried who was in the hospital and why it angered him so much. I wanted to ask him about it but I didn't have the courage to do so.
When Ho Seok asked him, Hansuke looked up at him and then at me. The words that came out of his mouth in reply, shocked me.
I looked at Hansuke, wondering whether I heard him right. “What?” I asked to myself.
“Jenny died giving birth,” Hansuke said, softly.
“I’m sorry to hear that. But why would they call us to inform that?” I looked at him, tilting my head to the side in confusion.
“She didn’t have any relatives and since Chunji hyung is in military, she has given you as the contact person if she is in emergencies like this.”
“Does that mean she gave birth to Channie’s child?” I asked, completely shocked.
He just nodded. “At least that’s what she has said while filling out the form.” He rubbed his head, frustrated.
“Why did you become angry? And why are we not going to the hospital?” I asked, still in confusion.
“What are you talking about, Kyongie?” Hansuke looked at me, bewildered.
“If father is in military and the mother has just lost her life, then where would the baby go?”
“But that’s none of our business. Did you forget that the baby is a remainder of his cheating?” he snarled.
“Suke-ah! Out of everyone, you should understand the baby’s situation better. The baby caused me no harm and I’m not going to blame the baby for something the mother and father did. I don’t want the innocent baby to suffer in this cruel world just like you did.”
Hansuke’s eyes widened and a cloud of guilt flashed in his eyes. “I love you Hansuke. You know that. But that’s not going to stop me from adopting this little girl. Whether you guys agree or not, I’m going to the hospital right now.”
Ho Seok just looked sad while Hansuke’s mouth opened and closed but no words came out. “If I’m not allowed to bring her here, then I will stay at my place. Thanks for taking care of me until now oppa.” I smiled at the both of them.
“Hyun Su! Bring Sang Ki here.” I called out to him.
A minute later, Hyun Su walked out with Sang Ki in his hand whom I carried him into my hands, then I turned towards Sanghyun, “You can choose your place of stay. I wouldn’t mind whatever you choose dear.” I smiled at him genuinely.
He glanced between HanSeok and me a few minutes. The guy looked really confused and I can’t blame him. Finally a moment later, he let out a sigh and replied, “I will come with you noona.” He turned towards HanSeok and said, “Mianhe hyung. I cannot let noona go alone.”
The four of us walked out of the house and we waited for the driver/valet guy to bring my car from the mansion’s garage.
I was about to get inside the car when Ho Seok embraced me. “JK, don’t leave. Hannie is just angry on hyung and he took it out on you. Just stay here with the baby girl if that’s what you want. Hannie will come around.”
“I know oppa. I’m not angry on you. I’m just feeling bad that Hansuke is not supporting me. I will call you after I get the little one.” I returned his hug before getting into the car and driving in the direction of the hospital.
We arrived at the hospital a few minutes later. I parked the car in the parking lot before guiding the guys towards the hospital reception. I enquired in the reception and took off in the direction I was asked to take.
After wandering the corridor for a few more minutes, in search of the mentioned room, I finally found it. I gently knocked the door and waited for a response.
“Come in,” a faint voice called out.
I opened the door and walked in. A young doctor sat on his chair and was scribbling something on the paper in front of him. He looked up at us fixing his specs, as we stood in front of him.
“How may I help you?” he asked.
“Um, I received a call from this hospital regarding the death of Ms. Jenny. When I enquired about it at the reception, they guided me here.”
“Ah! Mrs. Lee? Have a seat. I’m sorry about Ms. Jenny. I was the one who looked after the delivery. Unfortunately, there was some complication during the delivery and we were able to save only the child. We couldn’t get in touch with the father and Ms. Jenny gave your details as the alternate guardian for the child in case if anything happened to her. So we gave you a call. Would you like to see the baby now?”
I looked at the other guys before simply nodding my head. The doctor dialed a number and informed the person on the line to bring the little baby to his room.
We continued to wait for a few more minutes in his room, when the door opened finally and a nurse walked in with a pink bundle in her hand. She handed it over to the doctor who in turn gave the bundle over to me.
