What Matters
“Excuse me?” Khun balked, Siwon looked away momentarily, trying to keep his expression polite. They were inside a private hall with Kang Heekyung.
“A political marriage? I’m sorry but we wont allow it.”
“You don’t have to, once people hears about it, everyone will agree.”
“She’s not your daughter.” Siwon said evenly.
“But I’m her legal guardian, not your mother, director.”
Khun’s brows furrowed.
“Inhye wont agree to this.”
“She will have to, we all know how adamant she is when it comes to hiding her family, right?”
Inhye froze on her spot, but Kai just gave her a warm smile.
“Kai, I~” Her phone started to ringing.
“Wrong timing.” Kai said. She blinked before answering the call.
“Yes, oppa?....Now? With Kim Jongin,”
Kai smiled at the mention of his name.
“Arasso, I’ll be there.” She said before putting her phone down.
“Run along now, I’ll see you later.” He nodded before giving her a gentle push towards the hotel.
“Hi..?” Inhye muttered as she entered the room, Khun was sitting quietly, looking distressed.
“Something wrong?” She asked, Siwon stood up and pulled the chair for her.
“Sit down.”
“You two are starting to worry me.”
“We spoke with Heekyung.” Khun said blatantly, Inhye paused, her brother never skipped honorifics.
“Really?”
“Inhye, she wants…to…” Siwon stuttered. Inhye’s brows rose.
The doors opened again, Heekyung entered with a tall male behind her.
“Oh,” Inhye stood up.
“Inhye, dear, I would like to introduce you to~” She paused as Khun and Siwon stood in front of their sister, as if trying to shield her.
“Oppa~”
“We told you already, she can’t~”
“You have no right over her, I’m her legal guardian.”
Inhye was about to ask what was happening when Heekyung walked towards them.
“Inhye, I would like to introduce you to your future husband.”
“No .” Inhye spat.
Kai stepped out from the elevator when he saw Daehyun enter the lobby. He paused.
Then he saw Inhye appear from the lounge and walked to him.
Daehyun’s expression froze for a second before nodding to whatever Inhye was telling him. Soon, he grasps for her elbow and they left the place.
Kai’s brows met before turning away.
Inhye remained quiet as Daehyun stepped on the gas.
“I’m sorry, I know I should have called someone else~”
“It’s fine, its you I’m worried about.” Daehyun replied.
“It was a mess, my brothers went crazy and even threatened to call security to drag her out.”
Daehyun nodded, letting her talk.
“An arranged marriage, ridiculous, right?”
He smiled without looking at her.
“Well, Inhye, whatever may have happened, I was your friend before we started dating. I’m here for you, doc.”
