“Jung Daehyun..he’s a drag racer.” Inhye said softly before chewing her cupcake.

Kai nodded before taking a sip of his drink.

“We used…to see each other, it was a year ago.”

“And I’ve never told this to anyone.” She nodded, Kai rolled his eyes at her.

“I know…but…I don’t know what happened….I…” Inhye exhaled and rubbed her palms together.

Kai leaned back, sensing her discomfort.

“I got it now, so eat.” He smiled and pushed his cake to her.

“But, thanks for saving me out there.” She nodded.

“There’s a fee for that, you know.”

“Like what?”

“Dinner at our house?”

Inhye groaned.

“My mom knows you already. So, the I’m-hiding-my-real-heritage-excuse wont work.”

Inhye wondered to herself exactly why she permitted herself to go with Kai. Kai slowly drove his car to the curb, then he stopped.

“You know, I could get….scolded for this.”

“For what? For coming to a family friend’s house?”

Inhye sighed and just got off the car.

“I was supposed to open the door for you.” Kai chided before guiding her towards the front door.

“Are we~”

The doors suddenly opened.

“Kim Jongin! We saw the news! How could you~” Mrs. Kim trailed off as she saw Inhye standing beside her son.

“What..news, eomma?”

“Annyeonghaseyo, Mrs. Kim.” Inhye smiled while glancing at Kai.

Khun almost choked on his coffee while sitting in his not so frequently used office at the company.

“Seriously?” He chuckled before setting his tablet down.

“Sir, the article…” His secretary trailed off.

“Has Director Choi called?”

“Not yet.”

“Then he hasn’t seen that yet, make sure no one finds about Inhye.”

“Yes, I understand,” The male left the room, Khun just smiled to himself.

“It’s Inhye’s first.”

“Oh, that.” Kai managed to wince, Inhye eyed the paper skeptically.

“It’s okay, Inhye, dear, they didn’t get your name, well they didn’t find out yet.” Mrs. Kim frowned before leaning on the couch.

“When was this? Bossam?” Kai asked, Inhye nodded.

“I think so, Mrs. Kim~”

“Just call me auntie, like your brothers.”

“Auntie, for this, I don’t know~”

“It’s okay, I just hoped you two would be more careful when you go out, but tell me, what kind of relationship do you have?”

Inhye blinked.

“Eomma, we’re just my friends.” Kai said through gritted teeth.

“He’s right, auntie. I’m just waiting for oppa to call me and ask me about this. It makes me…feel…nervous.” She shrugged good-naturedly.

“Then it’s good you came with Kai, we’re having dinner here tonight. I shall leave you two and prepare, the maids are waiting.” She patted Inhye’s hand before leaving.

“What?” Kai felt Inhye’s glare on him.

“It feels weird, being there.” She pointed towards the paper.

“This feels weird, more weird,”

“What?” Inhye asked.

“You’re showing emotions.”

“Why am I even talking to you?”

Kai chuckled before plopping beside her.

“If Siwon hyung calls, just tell him~”

“He will in a few, and I’ll tell him I happened to have made the wrong friends this time.” Inhye made a face, Kai nodded and patted her head.

“Good girl.”

“Should I get my scalpel?”

Kai grinned at her and leaned back.

“But, your mom’s nice and blunt.” She smiled.

“She’s probably thinking almost a hundred scenarios on how to get us married. So, don’t say that.” Kai nodded.

 Then he froze, what did he just say?!

But then Inhye chuckled.

“In these circumstances, you should be showing me around the house already, the garden, your room, the study~”

Kai stood up and pulled her with him, then out of habit, he softly tugged a lock of her hair.

“Yes, young miss, run along now.”
