There was no light.

The hallway was too dark.

He knew where to go but why does it feels as if he was lost?

He has no light in his heart but that was before. After a whole two days of being lost in his thoughts, finding what is right and wrong; finding out where he will be benefiting the most, he had realized one thing. He still has some human blood. Like his brother, he’s still a human. Living as a demon for the whole twenty-three years—in human’s age—doesn’t mean that he can never choose what he wants.

And right now, he wanted to be something—someone—he never thought of wanting to be: a human.

He wanted to abandon his demon life and start anew. He wanted to take a step of abandoning what he has been for the whole twenty-three years and be a big brother to Luhan who has been parted from him since they were little. He wanted to make everything right, and at the same time, allow the people around him love him.

All his life, he wanted to love and be loved.

And he still wants to experience it even right now.

With Kris’ keen ears, he heard that familiar voice. He froze on his spot and walked towards the direction where that familiar voice was.

It directed him to the dungeon.

And his knees wobbled upon seeing the girl who is too familiar to him. Jihyun. Kim Jihyun, the Princess of the angels. She was in her white dress, a flower crown on her head; her appearance was completely different from the human form of the Jihyun he knew and one thing that makes her different the most was her angel wings. The beautiful angel wings that she carries.

But something was completely off.

Both her wrists were tied up and her neck was also cuffed to the wall. The cuffs weren’t the usual metal cuffs but they were like made of light and it drains the power of the ones cuffed by it.

Cuffs that were really made for the Princess.

He stared at the almost-lifeless body of the Princess and he saw the way Jihyun uses her little strength to move her head up and make eye contact with Kris. Kris, unconsciously, bowed to her for awhile before realizing it and standing up straight on his ground. “K-Kris…” It was almost a whisper and again, her little strength was used up just to call him out and he pitied her. “Princess, please don’t move. Don’t talk.” Because it hurts for him to see how hard it is for Jihyun.

She is the girl his brother loves after all.

And she is someone who showed him how caring one person can be.

Slowly, Jihyun shook her head and smiled. “P-Please, tell my broth-brother about this…and Luhan…” Kris wanted to just go inside her dungeon but the black spell surrounding it was making him unable to. He knew that only Luhan….
