His planned meeting with Jihyun the next day didn’t come up.

Sehun was in his dark room, his body into a fetal position. His body was all bruised and he just wants take a rest. A full rest, if it’s possible. Maybe he can just die? Luhan is strong enough now. He didn’t need him. He didn’t Sehun anymore.

“Sehun…” Sehun didn’t dare to raise his head up upon hearing Tao’s voice. He was too tired, too stressed physically and mentally with all Luhan’s insults and commands that he had zero energy dealing with anyone at the moment. “Hey, did Luhan hyung beat you up again?” Tao asked, concerned when he saw the younger guy on his bed, curled up with the smell of his blood lingering around the room.

“Do you really have to ask that? He does it every day. I was just lucky that he decided to stop for quite some time but see, he’s doing it all over again.” Sehun stated, his voice sounded hurt and Tao pitied him for taking all the beatings from Luhan, not that he doesn’t get beaten up but it is Sehun who always gets to face Luhan’s wrath.

When Tao didn’t say anything, Sehun turned to him, wincing in pain due to the cuts and bruises he got from Luhan. And when he did, Tao got shocked and pitied him even more. Sehun has cuts on his face, on his lips and on his arms, his neck had a mark as if someone tried to suffocate him—wherein someone meant Luhan. “Sehun, did he…”

“I’m fine. I’m used to it, Tao.” Tao violently shook his head. Never in his life did he imagine Luhan murdering Sehun because if there was one who’s closest to Luhan, it was the guy in front of him who’s currently curling up in a ball due to the pain. “Where else did hyung hurt you?” But Sehun bit his lower lip, refusing to speak up. “No, I can’t let this pass. I’ll tell duizhang!” He stood up and Sehun had to use his remaining strength to stop him. “Don’t. If you tell Kris hyung, they’ll just end up fighting. I…I’m not that significant for Kris hyung to go all the way there to fight with Luhan hyung.” He croaked.

He used to be significant to Luhan’s life. In all their childhood memories, he was there. They were together. He was the baby who grew up with Luhan, with Mrs. Lu trying to give both equal attentions. He was the baby who the three-year old Luhan kept on squishing the cheeks. He was the boy who played with Luhan in the sandbox. He was the boy whom Luhan loved to hang out with in the milk tea shop. He was the teenage guy whom Luhan shared secrets with. He was the teenage guy who took care of Jihyun in behalf of Luhan.

He was that person who cared about Luhan the most. He was that person who fought against Luhan’s bullies, teasing the older guy about his girly looks. He was that person who was willing to be hurt just as long as Luhan was doing fine and in the good hands.

But now, he was nothing.

Their memories were forgotten just like how Luhan can’t remember his precious love for Jihyun.

Tao heard the soft sniffs Sehun was making and he was somehow…hurt? It was a question because like the same old reason, they were a demon. A demon that has no rights to feel remorseful about something unimportant. Maybe, just maybe, it was because they had built friendship that’s why he was feeling like that towards Sehun.
