Sejin stepped out of the restaurant followed by Kai.

“Do you have something going on this afternoon?” Kai asked.

“Nothing, but-” Her phone beeped.

She balked and stared at Kai.

“Wae?”

She bit her lip and gripped his arm.

“Something came up.”

“Sejin, what’s wrong-”

“It’s Yixing…I need..to go.”

Sejin pushed the door open and found Lay’s parents and Heejin inside the room. Lay was standing by the windows.

“Fashengle shenme shi? (What happened?)” She asked in a low tone.

“You let this go on, Sejin?” Mrs. Zhang looked at her.

“Ma, I-”

“It’s not her fault, ma.” Lay turned to his mother.

“Of course, it’s not! I already told you to get away from this woman!” She snapped. Heejin swallowed.

“Ma, please-”

“No, it’s my fault, ma.” Sejin swallowed.

“Sejin!” Lay looked at her.

“I kept on encouraging Yixing to go out with Heejin, because I knew I was being an obstacle to them because of our engagement.”

“But that doesn’t mean-”

“Ma, please. Let them be, don’t worry about the engagement, I’ll tell my parents that I’m officially backing out. It won’t damage Yixing’s reputation.”

“Ni zai shuo shenme?!(What are you saying?!)” Yixing stepped to her.

Yixing’s father stared at Sejin.

“I can’t do this anymore, I don’t want to lie further. This has to stop, Yixing. Ma, Pa, I’m sorry.” Sejin swallowed.

“Is this because of that Samsung person?” Lay hissed at her. Heejin looked up in shock.

“Yixing, this isn’t-”

“Then what is it, Sejin?!”

“This is me setting you free!” She snapped at him.

The elder Zhangs shook their heads and slowly walked out of the room.

“You two, fix this.” Those were Pa’s last words to them before closing the doors.

“Sejin-”

“I quit, Yixing. I don’t want to do this anymore. A year may be short, but this is getting tiring for me.”

“You quit? What if they disown you?”

“That won’t happen, I know Luhan ge will-”

Yixing shook his head bitterly at her. He didn’t even glance at Heejin once as he punched the wall.

“Zhang Yixing!” Sejin pulled him back.

“Can’t you hear yourself? You’re leaving me for that Kim Jongin!”

Sejin shook her head and just pulled him by the arm, the two grew quiet as the looked at each other.

“Can you hear yourself too, Lay?” Heejin looked up with watery eyes.

Sejin’s eyes widened.

“Heejin, it’s not-” Heejin shook her head at Sejin, then she walked out of the office.
