Sungmin’s POV

As I was packing my equipment into my backpack, my phone suddenly rang.

Kyuhyun.

My heart skipped a beat at that.

Thanks to Donghae for telling me about Kyuhyun and his… his feelings about… me, I hadn’t been able to keep his words and Kyuhyun’s face out of my mind ever since.

I shook my head to clear my thoughts and answered the call.

‘Min?’

‘Yes Kyuhyun.’ I said. Trying to sound cold and aloof.

‘Are you free tonight?’ His deep voice sounded hesitantly.

Yes.

‘Uhm… I might have something on I think…’

‘Take a leap of faith.’ Donghae’s voice suddenly sounded in my mind once more.

‘… or maybe not. I guessed I got the dates wrong. I should be free tonight.’ I blurted. Hopefully my blunter wasn’t too obvious.

‘Great! Really great Min. We need to do something together tonight.’

I gulped at that. What did he mean by that?

‘See you then I will pick you up!’

I realized my heart had been beating fast once the call ended.

Donghae… What ideas have you been planting in my head?

‘There they are.’

‘Donghae and… Siwon?’ I frowned at the sight in front.

‘Do you mind if we join them for dinner?’ Kyuhyun turned to me and said.

Yes!

‘No. But why must we disturb them?’

‘Siwon wants Donghae back and I couldn’t sit back and allow that to happen. I promised Hyukjae I would be here to keep tabs on them and what better way than to just join them? I know the 3 of you are high school friends so it might be a good idea to bring you here.’

Somehow a sense of disappointment came over me. I had thought he had wanted to… never mind.

‘I’m not taking sides. But I don’t mind joining them. I can see Hae getting uncomfortable over there.’ I stated.

‘Then let’s go.’ Kyuhyun picked up my arm and placed it on his as he led us to their table.

I didn’t know why I didn’t pull my arm away and allowed it to rest upon his.

What happened to me. .

‘Mind if we join you guys?’ Kyuhyun said with a bright smile.

Donghae looked up with widened eyes at the two of us, his gaze flickered to me then to Kyuhyun then back to me questioningly.

He stood up quickly, ‘Yes of course we don’t mind. Have a seat.’

Despite Siwon’s very obviously dampened mood, he was still somewhat chatty throughout the dinner as we talked about some of our past during our school days.

I could also sense Siwon’s very deliberate attention towards Donghae, constantly asking if the food is to his liking, if the taste is too strong for him and even tried to wipe a food stain on the corner of Donghae’s lips.

I quickly reached over and wipe the bit of cheese off Donghae’s lips with my finger before Siwon could.

His hand hanged awkwardly in mid air as Donghae realized his intention and said a quick thanks and laughed awkwardly at his own clumsiness.

‘How about me?’ A voice drawled from opposite and I saw Kyuhyun leaning towards me.

I turned and saw him with cheese on the corner of his lips too. He had very obviously smeared that on.

I picked up a serviette on the table and pressed it quickly over his mouth as Donghae chuckled.

Nothing else went on until we left the restaurant as we prepared to part our ways.

‘I didn’t drive today. Mind if we hitch a ride together? Anyway Donghae and I stay together with Eunhyuk.’ Kyuhyun said very nonchalantly.

But I knew better. It was on purpose. Kyuhyun drove me here after all. I could even see where his car was from where I stood.

Siwon froze upon those words of Kyuhyun’s as he turned to Donghae.

‘You are staying with that man?’ He choked.

Donghae stared at the ground as he muttered, ‘Yes. I have been staying together with him. You knew I am with him Wonnie.’

“B-but I never thought you are actually staying together with him Hae.’

Damn I felt sad for Siwon. To find this out the hard way as I saw him tried to keep his composure.

‘Come on, it’s getting late. Hyuk would be worried sick about his Hae.’

I glared at Kyuhyun. He was being way too obvious. Way too cruel.

Siwon got into the car robotically as Donghae took the passenger seat and we sat at the back.

The entire journey was silent and thick with awkwardness. The only one who seemed oblivious to all these were Kyuhyun who was softly humming a tune.

As we stopped at a traffic junction I saw Kyuhyun’s frame suddenly tensed up as he straightened himself and looked at the back window of the car.

‘What’s wrong?’ I whispered as I placed a hand on his arm gently.

A frown was between his brows as he quickly leaned forward to Siwon, ‘Don’t ask me any question but do what I said. Quickly turn left once the lights are green.’

‘But we are not in the turning lane.’

‘Just do it!’ Kyuhyun’s voice suddenly sounded panic.

When the lights  turned green, Siwon quickly took a left turn as Kyuhyun continued to look behind.

Donghae and I were suddenly worried by Kyuhyun’s reaction as we both tried to look behind.

‘Go straight ahead. And drive as fast as you can. Do it!’ Kyuhyun ordered in a rush.

A lorry suddenly drove right across us as Siwon braked immediately to avoid colliding into the lorry.

As he did so we were suddenly forward by the impact from the back. A car had collided at our rear.

But what shocked me the most was the fact that another car had sped past us but quickly turned to the right.

The car reversed then maneuvered to aim directly at… Donghae’s side.

And started accelerating towards him in full speed.
