SONG HYE KYO

I rubbed my head in frustration as I tried to remember last night's events, but I was unsuccesful. I groaned and grabbed the iced coffee in front of me and tried once again to gain recollections of what happened after Ah In came back from his call, as I angrily chewed on the straw. 

I feel like I really am forgetting something. I was so deep in thought that I didn't notice my manager call me in for the script reading of my new drama.

"Hye Kyo-ah. Song Hye Kyo." She called. 

"Oh. Unnie. Why?" I answered, a bit surprised.

"I've been calling you since a while ago. We should head inside for the script reading." She said. I immediately stood up and walked towards the room where we will hold the first script reading for the new drama I'm doing with Song Seung Heon. 

"You've been distracted since we arrived. Is anything wrong? Do you have a hangover?" She asked.

"No." I shook my head. "I was just trying to remember something. By the way, was it just Ah In and Hyung Sik who took me home last night?" 

She nodded. "Yeah, I got their call at around 12am, saying that they will be dropping you off at your place. Were you that drunk?" 

"I don't think so. But I vaguely remember that I took a nap in the middle of drinking but woke up a few minutes later. I think someone came before that, I just couldn't remember." I said.

"Someone came? Who?" She asked.

"I don't know. But it's just probably one of Ah In's girls." I replied.

"Hmm. I don't think Ah In and Hyung Sik was with a girl when they dropped you off. They did a video call and it was just the two of them in the car with you."

"She probably left before we went home. Oh well." I shrugged as I made my way inside and took my seat.

Within the next few minutes, the holding room slowly filled with the Directors, PDs, Writers, Staffs, and other actors and actresses that will be participating in the drama. 

It was tentatively titled "Remembering You", a story about a newly wed couple that deals with the wife's sudden diagnosis of early-onset alzheimer's disease. It explores the theme of how the couple built their relationship and how they deal with the burden of the woman gradually losing her memories and forgetting about the person she loved most. It also conveys the story of how the husband faces the challenges of watching the woman he loves slowly forget about him. 

I was to play the lead character, Kim Ji Hyun and Song Seong Heon is to play the husband's role, Choi Chi Hoon. 

I stood up to greet everyone when my name was called by the Director. 

"Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Song Hye Kyo and I will be playing Kim Ji Hyun." 

Followed by Song Seung Heon. "Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Song Seung Heon, I'll be playing the very unfortunate husband, Choi Chi Hoon" 

The rest of the cast also followed suit in introducing themselves. 

The table read took almost half the day since we read the script for Episode 1 up to Episode 3. So far, the tone of the story was still not as heavy as I thought it would be since the first few episodes will show how the characters developed their relationship and to show the disparity between their social classes, since Choi Chi Hoon, Song Seung Heon's character, is a normal office worker while Kim Ji Hyun, my character was the daughter of  the Company President. With 25 episodes set for this drama, I'm pretty sure that shooting and rehearsals for the scenes will definitely challenge me and would put my skills to the test. 

After bidding everyone goodbye, I gathered my things and was about to leave with my Manager when my arm was pulled back by Seung Heon Oppa.

"Oh Oppa. What is it?" I asked.

"I just wanted to ask if you wanted to grab dinner. It's been ages since we got to work with each other, and it'll be nice to catch up." He smiled.

The last time I worked with Song Seung Heon Oppa was back in 2000 when we did Autumn In My Heart. Back then, I relied a lot on Seung Heon Oppa and heeded all his advice since it was the first time I got to take part in such a big scale project as the lead actress. 

"Okay. I think that's also a good idea." I smiled back.

"We can meet up at the restaurant, since I'm pretty sure your manager will not let you ride with me. Especially since there's this preposterous rumour about us going around." Seung Heon Oppa laughed. I just nodded at him as I walked towards where my manager was waiting for me.

"Unnie. Seung Heon Oppa invited us for dinner. He said we can meet him at the restaurant." I said.

"Is this a good idea?" She asked.

"Why not?" I asked back.

My manager pondered for a bit if she would answer my question, but decided against it. "Nothing. Okay then, let's go." 

After meeting with Seung Heon Oppa at the restaurant we both took a seat while my manager and his manager sat on a table a few meters away from us. 

Once we placed our orders, Seung Heon Oppa asked me questions about the drama.

"So, are you nervous about playing your character?"

"Hmm..a little. I've only read up to the Episode 8 script and I must say, my character had already experienced many unfortunate events and that's just 8 episodes in. I'm nervous of not delivering Ji Hyun's emotions to the viewers." I replied while I fidget with the table napkin on my lap. 

"Yes, I do understand the pressure you must be feeling. Conveying emotions to the audience and making them feel these emotions is what most artists want to achieve when they do a project but you're a great actress, I think you shouldn't worry about that too much." He smiled.

"Thank you, Oppa but I hardly think I'm good enough. I have to work very hard." I laughed. "I guess I will be relying on you once again."

"Yes of course, I'll help you anytime." He grinned. "Anyway, Kyo-ah. I'm really curious about something."

"What is it, Oppa?" I asked
