SONG JOONG KI

I drowned myself in my work after that arguement I had with Hye Kyo a week ago. I was so mad and frustrated by all she said that I couldn't even bare to reply to any of her messages or answer her calls. All I felt was resentment at how she was denying us a chance to be together again.

Honestly, I knew where she was coming from. I know that she's hesitant because we're public figures and that she's publicly involved with Song Seung Heon, but it just seems unfair to me that even though she has feelings for me, she's choosing to be with Seung Heon sunbae just because she thinks it's the right thing to do. I also couldn't quite grasp that idea. How can that be the right thing to do? Isn't following your feelings and emotions the right thing? It gave me headache to think about it all over again.

I was grumbling to myself when my manager walked in.

"Joong Ki, they're calling for us." He said.

I stood up and followed him inside the meeting room.

We're currently having a meeting at KBS regarding a drama. I just finished filming Solo Leveling last week and I was free to accept drama offers now. My agency advised me to take a break but I didn't want to do that. Free time meant I'd have more opportunities to think about Hye Kyo and how unfortunate things have turned out for the two of us. I didn't need that.

The drama was entitled Now We Are Breaking Up. I was offered the script and after reading through it, I found the story line quite interesting. It's also been quite some time since I filmed a melodrama, so I was glad to fully accept the role. We're now finalizing the contract as well as the schedules for the first table read and filming.

"We're so glad to have you officially on board, Joong Ki-ssi." The director said as he shook my hand.

I smiled back as I replied. "The story is very interesting. I'm excited to work on this project as well. Is everything settled with the casting?"

"We still haven't chosen an actress for the female lead role. But we have some options in mind." The writer replied.

"Who?" I asked.

They all smiled uneasily at me before the director answered. "Actually, Song Hye Kyo-ssi is the first choice for the female lead."

I was a little surprised but I managed to hide my reaction. "Oh. Is that so?"

The director nodded. "Will that be a problem for you?"

I shook my head as I pushed a smile. "No. Not at all. Hye Kyo-ssi and I are professionals when it comes to work. I'm sure our personal issues won't be a hindrance."

"Well, we heard that the two of you are friends now, and the fans are looking forward to see the two of you collaborate again after Descendants of the Sun, so we think this might be a good project for the two of you." The writer replied. "KBS is predicting that ratings would soar and might even surpass 40%."

I chuckled at the weight of their expectations. "That's some heavy pressure."

The writer and director laughed along. "Well, Hye Kyo-ssi is still reviewing the script so we don't know yet if she'd accept the role."

I just nodded at them. Will she even accept if she learned that I was onboard with the project?

It took a few more hours of discussion and signing of contract before the meeting ended. I bid goodbye to the people inside the meeting room as I walked out with my manager.

"Well, that's a surprise." My manager mumbled.

"What is?" I asked.

"You know, Song Hye Kyo being offered the role of the lead female." He said.

"Why? She's a good actress and even nicknamed a melodrama queen, so I'm sure she'll do great if she accepts." I replied, trying to sound as non-chalant as possible.

"Isn't it weird for her to accept the role? She'll have to act as a couple with you, her ex husband. Also, the title is literally Now We Are Breaking Up. That fits the two of you like a glove." My manager rolled his eyes.

"I don't think that would be something that stops her from accepting a good drama. Hye Kyo is the epitome of professionalism." I said.

"You're right. I'm just being wary, that's all." My manager said. I was about to reply when my phone suddenly rang. It was Kwang Soo.

"Hello?" I answered. "What is it?"

"Hey, let's grab dinner." Kwang Soo said on the other line.

"Your treat?" I laughed.

"Can't we just go on a dinner and pay for our own meals? Why does it always have to be my treat?" He exclaimed.

"Well, you're the one who invited me." I said.

"Fine! Pick me up at the office." And with that Kwang Soo hung up.

"You're going somewhere?" My manager asked.

I nodded. "Kwang Soo invited me out for dinner. I'll be picking him up at his agency so I'll just go ahead and get my car from the parking lot."

"Okay. Take care." My manager said as I waved him goodbye.

"Hey." Kwang Soo greeted as soon as he got inside my car.

"That took you long enough." I said to him.

"You were only waiting for a couple of minutes, stop complaining." He glared at me as he fastened his seatbelt.

"Anyway, where are you going to treat me for dinner?" I asked.

"There's this new restaurant I wanted to try. The reviews online are amazing." He said as he placed the address on the GPS.

"Why are you inviting me out to try a new restaurant with you? Don't you have a girlfriend for these kinds of things?" I said as I proceeded to drive, following the directions shown on the screen.

"She overseas right now for a schedule. Consider this a test run. We'll have a date there if it's really a good place and if it's not then I won't take her." Kwang Soo replied.

"I'm honored to be your companion at this test run then." I said as I rolled my eyes.

"I'm pretty sure you have nothing better to do anyways so just be glad I asked you to hang out. You'll probably just end up sulking at your house if I didn't." Kwang Soo said as he gave me a side glance.

"How are you these days anyway? Still haven't talked to Hye Kyo Noona?" He asked after a while.

I shook my head. "No. I still haven't replied to any of her messages or her calls."

"You're probably the only guy I know who would deliberately ignore Hye Kyo Noona. Well, you've done a lot of things to Hye Kyo Noona no guy
