SONG HYE KYO

It had been a month since that day Joong Ki and I talked about moving together, and the plan has been slowly coming into completion. The two of us decided that instead of looking for another apartment, Joong Ki could just live with me — just like when we moved in together the first time. We had been stealthily moving boxes from his house to mine with the help of our managers for the past week, and finally the last box had just come in yesterday. And tomorrow, Joong Ki's lease would be up and he would be officially moving into my house in the evening.

But before that, I still had to go through with today. And today was the last day of filming for Now We Are Breaking Up. The final scene we shot last month turned out too cliche for the writer when done on screen, so she made changes and now, on our last day, we were to shot the last scene of the 16th episode. I had mixed feelings about the last sequence that we were to film when I read the script, and I was honestly hoping for changes to be made, but that never happened. Joong Ki on the other hand liked it very much. He kept saying that it was the kind of ending that he liked to see — an ending wherein viewers are made to think and draw up their own conclusion. That was maybe good enough for him, but not for me. I liked my closures and happy endings.

It was a scorching hot day and there were camera reflectors everywhere for the shoot's lighting. No amount of hand fans and iced coffee seemed to alleviate the heat, and I was starting to get annoyed. I felt like I was being toasted alive.

"What's wrong?" My manager asked when she saw that I was glaring at the sky.

"It's so hot. I'm getting mad at the sun." I replied.

“Yeah, I've been sweating like crazy too.” My manager replied.

I was waiting on the sidelines of the set while Joong Ki finished with his scene.

“Is everything all set for tomorrow?” Unnie whispered beside me.

I nodded. “Yeah."

Unnie stared at me for a second, and then sighed. "Are you really sure this is a good idea?"

"What do you mean?" I looked at her in confusion.

"Just you know...you and Joong Ki...moving in together again so soon when you've just gotten back together."

"Unnie, isn't it a little too late for those sentiments? He's moving in tomorrow." I couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.

"I'm just saying that you're basically doing the things you've done with him before." My manager said. "It's the same pattern all over again."

I was stunned at what my manager said, but before I could even reply, the staff had called for me to start shooting my scenes. Joong Ki gave me a grin and a thumbs up as I passed by him, which I only returned with a slight nod.

I stood on my mark and the director started filming. I was immediately no longer Song Hye Kyo, but Ha Young Eun for one last time.

"And.....CUT!"

I was smiling widely and yet my eyes pooled with tears as the Director ended the scene. It was officially a wrap for my character in Now We Are Breaking Up.

Immediately, the staff brought me a flower bouquet and bowed to me in thanks, which I returned. I also made a big bow as I thanked everyone on set. Just then, Joong Ki walked towards me with another bouquet, though the one he was carrying was far larger than the one previously given to me. I couldn't help but laugh at how absurdly big it was. I had to carry it with both hands and with so much effort as I took it from Joong Ki.

"Congratulations on finishing Ha Young Eun's story, Song Hye Kyo-ssi!" Joong Ki exclaimed loudly as everyone erupted in applause. I took another bow and faced Joong Ki.

"Thank you, Joong Ki-ssi!" I said.

He still wasn't done with some of his last scenes, but I bowed to him nonetheless. "Congratulations to you too, you were the perfect Yoon Jae Guk!"

The staff and crew of Now We Are Breaking Up were cheering at us and I felt immensely grateful and proud. I truly hoped I had done this drama enough justice.

After changing out of my Ha Young Eun clothes and into my personal ones, I left my set trailer and thanked and bid everyone goodbye one by one on my way back to my car. My manager was struggling behind me as we walked, mainly because of the bouquet Joong Ki had given me.

"How many is that?" I mused to myself as I watched my manager breathlessly put it at the back of the van. She barely managed to fit it in along with the rest of my belongings.

"40." Unnie said as she slammed the doors closed. "I counted them earlier when you were changing."

"40?" I repeated. "Why did Joong Ki give me 40 roses?"

My manager shrugged. "Probably because you're 40 years old?"

I frowned at her. "Now if that was the reason I don't think I like them anymore."

"What don't you like?"

I turned and saw Joong Ki standing behind me with a huge grin on his face.

"Why were there 40 roses?" I quickly asked, feeling a bit sensitive about my age.

"There's 40 of them?" He seemed surprised too. "I didn't know. I just told the florist to give me all the fresh roses they had and make it into a bouquet."

I raised an eyebrow skeptically. "So it's not because I'm 40 years old?"

"Of course not!" He chuckled lowly then leaned into me. "You don't even look like you're 40."

I was about to say something when Joong Ki was suddenly pulled away by the back of his collar.

It was Joong Ki's Manager.

"Yah, yah. You're still at the set, Joong Ki. Quit acting so chummy with Hye Kyo-ssi."

Joong Ki grinned sheepishly at him, and then winked at me.

"Get your back there. You still have two more scenes to shoot before you're officially done."

"I was just saying good bye to Hye Kyo, hyung!" Joong Ki whined.

"You'll be staying at her place starting from tomorrow, what the hell are you whining about." Oppa hissed in a low voice. He seemed really annoyed at Joong Ki, but I couldn't help but chuckle a little.

At the mention of our cohabitation, Joong Ki beamed at me. "I can't wait."

I felt my cheeks heat up a little as I nodded. "Me too."

My manager clicked her tongue. "Alright that's enough. Anymore and sparks would be flying here and then everyone would find out that you're back together."

Joong Ki's stare lingered at me as he was being dragged away by his manager. I honestly wanted to reach out my hand and touch him, but I obviously could not. So instead, I tried to placate myself with the thought that I could just touch him as much as I wanted to when we're finally together, safe in the confines of our so
