SONG HYE KYO

News of the Descendants of the Sun reunion party took the Korean Entertainment News industry by storm. It had been three days since the party but every single news outlet, may it be online or on television were still talking about it. Pictures of the cast arriving at the restaurant was plastered everywhere, most especially my pictures and Joong Ki's.

Everyone was wondering what on earth happened inside the event since we, a divorced ex-couple, both attended it. Some articles posted that we probably fought, or that we probably avoided each other like the plague all night, while others said that we were friendly at the party.

I shook my head as I scrolled through my phone, reading another preposterous article that said we screamed and argued with each other that night.

Do they think we're a bunch of hooligans?!

I exhaled in frustration as I tossed my phone on the couch.

"Still looking at those online articles?" My manager asked.

"They're ridiculous." I sighed.

"That's why you should stop reading those already." She said as she hauled another box inside my living room.

"I can't not read it when even my own mother sends me links to these articles." I said, standing up to help her pack.

"Eh? Your mother?" She asked.

I nodded. "Yeah, she's asking what actually happened."

"What did you say?" She asked, looking over at me.

"The truth. That Joong Ki and I decided to be friends." I simply said. "She's quite pleased actually."

"Your mom still has a soft spot for that idiot." My manager huffed. "And you're an idiot too for being friends with your ex-husband."

When I told my manager about my rekindled friendship with Joong Ki, she had screamed at me for hours.

She had repeated over and over again that it was a terrible idea to be friends with Joong Ki, that we should've kept on ignoring each other and that we should've just went on through the night without even a squeak to one another. I just gave her a shrug as I've said that it actually felt nice when Joong Ki and I decided to be friends again. It made no sense to hate him anymore.

"I told you, Joong Ki is a good guy." I repeated myself for the nth time.

"I know that. I'm just still mad as your friend." She said, picking up another box.

We were currently packing some of the things at my house. I had finally told my manager that I was going to sell the place. She was shocked at first, but later on said that it was finally the time for me to move on from this house.

"You said you were starting anew by selling your house and moving to a new place, and yet you became friends with your ex-husband? That's ironic you know?" My manager said to me.

"I said I'm starting anew and letting go of all the hatred and bitterness." I cleared. "I hold no hate and bitterness for Joong Ki now so I don't really see the irony."

"Aish. You stupid, stupid girl." She muttered under her breath. I just gave her a smile.

"When do you plan on totally moving out?" She asked.

"After I'm done with the filming for the drama. I've only got 3 months left to shoot anyways so I won't have to wait long." I replied.

"This will definitely become a big news once it hits the media that you're selling the house you and your ex-husband used to live in." She said.

"I know but I don't care about that. I'm only focused on my self now." I said, giving her a small smile.

I've been feeling elated lately. The weight of all those hatred I've shed that night during the party was such a relief to me that as if a world has fallen off my shoulders. I really did believe that I was taking steps into a new perspective in my life. I had let go of all the negative things that I buried deep, and I felt really free once I've done so.

"You're still going on those "thinking about it" dates with Song Seung Heon-ssi?" She asked later on.

I nodded.

"Yah. How long will you think about it? It's been weeks! Just go for it!" She urged.

"Unnie, you know it's not that easy. I'm trying to really be careful about this. And besides, it's nice how Seung Heon Oppa and I are taking our time." I replied.

She shook her head. "Two 40 year olds taking their time. What a laugh." She joked.

"Yah, Unnie!" I said, throwing a pillow at her teasing.

"Ah but it's great that you're going on dates now. You've been happier lately too. Must be the work of a certain Oppa right?" She grinned.

I felt my cheeks blush as I smiled at her. "Maybe."

SONG JOONG KI

"Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, happily chatting and sitting at the same table!"

"Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki fought inside the restaurant!"

"Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki avoiding each other like a disease!"

My manager shouted all the headlines of the printed out articles one by one as he slammed them on the table inside our meeting room. I just innocently sat there, sipping my coffee as my manager seethed in anger, red in the face.

"Are you not going to say anything?!" He bellowed at me.

"What else can I say? They're false. Oh but that first one was true." I simply said with a childish grin.

"Yah! I told you to distance yourself! To stay away! And what did you do?! You happily sat next to her and drank!" He continued to shout.

"I didn't sit next to her. Jin Goo hyung was sitting next to her, I sat next to Jin Goo hyung." I replied, still sipping my coffee with no absolute care.

"Is that what's important right now?!" My manager's face was redder than before as he shouted.

"Relax, hyung. It's not a big deal." I said.

"Relax?! You're telling me to relax when the whole of South Korea is talking about the two of you?! When your pictures are plastered everywhere?! Rumour mills are going wild right now at what could've possibly went on during the party between the two of you!" He exclaimed, finally sitting down on his chair in his frustration.

"I'm just worried this would cause problems for Hye Kyo." I said.

"You're thinking about her now? What a good ex husband you are!" He sarcastically said.

"I'm always thinking about her." I grinned.

"Song Joong Ki, you will be the death of me! The death of me, I say!"

I laughed at him. "Don't over react, hyung. No one at the agency but you thinks it's a concern anyways."

"Because no one else at the agency knows that you've been acting weird these days! You sent Song Hye Kyo a food truck at the set of her new drama and then I heard from Kwang Soo's manager that you were at TMI with her and Song Seung Heon a few weeks ago! You also refused to go home with them and was left behind with Song Hye Kyo and Yoo Ah In! Seriously, what were you thinking?!" My manager was once again shouting.

"Nothing escapes you, huh? You even heard about that night at TMI." I said, smirking at him.

"People talk, Joong Ki. You're just lucky that those people will never release this to the press because they're also worried about you. But you have to admit it yourself, you've been acting suspicious whenever Song Hye Kyo is involved." He said. "Honestly, what is going on with the two of you again?"

"We're friends now." I said, acting very non-chalant.

My manager's eyes widened as he stared at me. "What do you mean friends?! How can you be friends with your ex-wife?!"

"Is that not allowed? Are divorced ex-couples supposed to despise each other forever?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.

"Divorced couples can be friends, but not for someone like you and Song Hye Kyo! Everyone has their eyes on the two of you, whether you're separated, together, or whatever!" He exclaimed.

I felt a tick of anger at what he said. "What do you mean by someone like me and Hye Kyo? People are allowed to be friends with whoever they want. Hye Kyo and I may be celebrities and are public figures but we're people too."

My manager probably noticed my tone of seriousness as he looked at me, his eyes mellowing for the first time since I walked inside the office. "Joong Ki, we're just worried for you. Getting into controversies will be harmful to you, and to anyone involved for that matter. You worked hard to achieve where you are and I don't want to see all that crumble just because of measly controversies."

I nodded at what my manager said, understanding where he's coming from.

"But hyung, Hye Kyo and I are at a good place now. She'd forgiven me for all the things that happened and we finally went back to being friends. This is really a huge deal for me. I don't want to ruin this friendship again because I've done that before, and I felt miserable. I'm not going to make those same mistakes again." I said as I looked at my manager straight in the eye.

My manager sighed in defeat. "Fine. But I want you to lay low still. I don't know what your friendship entails but just make sure to keep it under wraps. Being caught hanging out in public with her will definitely cause an uproar."

"Thanks, hyung." I smiled.
