Season Two – Chapter 8

Major Betrayal

“Hyung! What are we going to do?” Jungkook was starting to really panic when the bangs on the door became louder. Three of us in the room were trying to figure out a way to keep ourselves from being found out… all but Daisy… who looked far too comfortable!

“Shush!” I shot at him as I walked to the door. From the sound of it, there were 5 or 6 girls, young and very giddy. “I’m going to call the manager” I told them and got out my phone, searching for his number.

“Hello?” he answered in a yawn.

“Manager-Nim! I need you to come to the room and get rid of some crazy fans” I told him as quietly as I could so that the girls didn’t hear my voice.

“They’ve found out!? How!?” the manager sounded furious! The sound of an engine came through the phone and many cursing words.

“Please be quick!” I begged, sitting in front of the door so that if they could get through, I could try and keep the door closed. Jimin came towards me, ducking under the frosted glass so the girls couldn’t see.

“Hyung, please call the police. There’s no way that you could deal with all these people at once” he asked, looking very distraught about being trapped in a room with a gang of sasaengs outside.

“Okay! I’ll call you back when the police turn up!” the manager said before hanging up… I peeked at Daisy… who had started showing emotion now that Jungkook had sat next to her. She’d put her head in her hands and leaned against Jungkook, looking very upset and faking crying!

“All we can do is try to keep quiet and stay as still as possible until help comes” trying to keep silent, I told the others in a low voice. They all nodded and for the next half an hour we were bombarded by bangs and insults by a group of young girls. Until, finally…

“POLICE! STEP AWAY FROM THE DOOR!”

“NO WAY! BTS ARE INSIDE! WE’RE NOT LEAVING UNTIL WE’VE SEEN THEM!”

“STEP AWAY NOW OR WE WILL USE FORCE!”

“YOU’RE THREATENING US!? MONSTERS!”

“Sounds like they won’t go without a fight” Daisy whispered to Jungkook as the police arrived on the scene. She snuggled up to him and buried her face in his jacket… The uncomfortable look on Jungkook’s face made a spark of anger that I’d never felt before. Protective anger…

“Please don’t…” I started but screaming outside stopped my sentence as the sounds of a full-on catfight started.

“YOU ARE ALL UNDER ARREST FOR ATTACKING A POLICE OFFICER! YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT!” different officers angered arrests came one after another, shadows and shapes shifted on the other side of the frosted glass. Soon the girl’s screaming voices faded, and several calmer voices replaced them. A quiet knock on the door came.

“You can come out now” an officer told us, and I unlocked the door, peeking out to see 3 officers waiting for us.

“Thank you!” Daisy cried in English from Jungkook’s side… and at the sight of her crocodile tears, Jungkook patted her shoulder in comfort… to which she took as an opportunity to hold onto him again in a strong hug. He was shocked but didn’t pull away since he thought she was crying and afraid.

“You’re welcome” the officer replied in English and gave her a nod and turned to me and Jimin who stood there awkwardly. “There were six girls out this room and after being told to leave the premises, they attacked the officers and were arrested. We will need statements, but your manager has arranged for an officer to organise that around your schedule” he said in Korean to Jungkook and Jimin but raised an eyebrow when Daisy cleared in a very disrespectful way.

“Daisy?” I looked at her half in confusion and half in disbelief. Her personality has gone in so many directions lately, I’m having trouble keeping up with her!

“Sorry, but why do you need to go through so much trouble? They were just a little rowdy, it’s not like they hurt anyone” Daisy spoke in the most fluent Korean I’d heard from her and she didn’t look their way as she was still holding on to Jungkook. The officer looked angry.

“Miss, they attacked police officers. That’s a major crime” the officer continued to use Korean… but she didn’t speak again…

“I’ll bring her to the station tomorrow, what time do you open?” I asked him while we were leaving, Jimin and Jungkook put on masks and hats to hide themselves. After getting all the details and secretly apologising for Daisy’s behaviour, the manager came to pick us up.

“Come in for some tea?” I asked Jimin, feeling that we’d wasted the night. Daisy and Jungkook were still in the car… I felt uneasy about it, but she’d figure out something if I lingered…

“Maybe I could, this was supposed to be our first real date” he smirked at me and moved in, finding confidence in the secrecy of the darkness of my doorway… but before we could do anything, we heard footsteps behind us.

“Hyung, Daisy has asked if we wanted to stay for drinks?” Jungkook said with an expectant smile.

“Guess we’re thinking alike, I asked Jimin if he wanted to come in for a cuppa” I looked at Daisy who had finally separated from Jungkook. She linked arms with me and laughed as I unlocked the door.

“We must have a special link!” she gasped sarcastically and left for the fridge, pulling out a pack of beer… more alcohol… it’s a good thing I was at home.

“I stocked up when I came home earlier” she held it up and reached in for another pack. Looking into my fridge I saw that she’d moved the food to the top two shelves and filled the rest with beer and several bottles of spirits…

“That’s a lot of alcohol, Daisy” I eyed her, but she’d already moved to the living room where Jungkook was already sat down… I had a bad feeling…

“Game plan?” I asked Jimin quietly so she couldn’t hear. He in some air while thinking and sighed.

“Just keep an eye on her, that’s all we can do. We sit on either end of Jungkookie, so she doesn’t do anything to him. Try to keep him from drinking too much” he whispered back while opening a can. Taking a sip, he made a face and looked down at it. “What is this?” he asked as he looked down at it.

“That’s --, it’s Daisy’s favourite lager” I told him, but he quickly handed it to me and reached for a familiar Korean beer. After ordering some food and putting some music on, we started drinking and chatting until it started to get late. Daisy was unexpectantly calm and didn’t mind that Jimin and me were blocking her from him… that was until it was time for them to leave.

“Please stay” she whined as Jungkook was putting his shoes on, pouting and childishly stomping her feet. He chuckled and stood only to be slammed into by Daisy who flung her arms around his neck and clung to him like a koala.

“Come on Daisy, I think it’s time for bed” I got her off of him and she shrugged me off before storming into the living room. “Sorry, she’s a lot to handle” I sighed as Jungkook started down the stairs.

“It’s okay, today has been… weird but fun” he gave me a tired smile and went back to the waiting car, saying a quick goodbye as he went.

“What he said” Jimin grinned as he stayed behind to say goodbye. “Finally!” he growled in a deep voice as he swooped in to kiss me. Giggling at his sudden kiss, I gratefully accepted it and felt his warmness in the cool night. He held me to him, and I played with the hair on the back of his neck, which made him hum happily.

“Hey! Hurry up!” the manager interrupted the kiss as he called out of the car window. Jimin grumbled as he pulled away from me, not letting go of my hand until he was too far to reach me.

“Goodnight” he said as he walked backwards out of my gate. I waved him goodbye… and he was gone… the feeling of coldness filled me as I closed the door… the sound of Daisy’s snores from the living room was the only sound.

I walked over to her, grabbed her folded blanket and put it over her as I began to clean up. It was 2 am when I’d finished. And as I was about to go to bed… I heard Daisy’s phone ping from the coffee table… but it wasn’t her usual phone… this one was a different phone…

I picked it up and saw that it was fingerprint protected… I felt like a prick but held up a sleeping Daisy’s finger and unlocked the phone…

‘Ssng-Unnie! Please share the location!’

‘Ssng-Unnie, I will pay – for their flight schedule!’

‘Ssng-Unnie! The information you gave me worked! I saw J-Hope-Oppa!’

‘I am currently selling Jungkook’s hairbrush! Limited time!’

‘This is Ssng-Unnie! I have Jin’s used towel for sale! Buy now!’

‘OMG! I’m going to make a move today!’

‘Pictures of Jungkook in person coming soon!’
