Author POV
The orange skies of New York truly fascinated Jaejoong as he continued to look on past the tall buildings.
The maid arrived with a cup of tea that Jaejoong had requested. With a smile she gave it to him and took her leave.
“What do you know of the curse?” His words forced her to halt. She turned to see Jaejoong looking at her sipping his tea, his back now facing the buildings.
Her hesitance was obvious but Jaejoong kept quiet looking at nothing but her. Soon she gave in and sighed. “All I know is that the princess killed the prince of Joseon who was the one the White Witch was in love with. Since she lost her chance at love, she cursed the princess and the whole werewolf race to not be able to find their soul mate…. Until now, none of us have found our mate because we are incapable of developing any feelings even to someone who falls in love with us”
Jaejoong attentively listened. Placing the cup of tea on the nearest coffee table he asked the million dollar question.
“Where do I come in this?”
“Well….” She squeezed the material of her skirt “You are the reincarnation of the prince it seems”
“And Ayana’s mother?”
The maid didn’t know the answer to that though. Having nothing else to do she took her leave, leaving Jaejoong all to himself once again. He looked straight ahead, at the glass wall. Beyond it lied the room that is supposedly the reincarnation of Ayana’s mother, the love of Baekhyun’s life, lives.
Something about that bugged Jaejoong and he didn’t know why.
Something about Baekhyun always kept him on the edge and he didn’t know why.
The longer he looked at the room, the more uneasy he got.
“Aish! This is unnecessary headache!” He gritted his teeth. Deciding that it is high time he goes in, Jaejoong carried the cup of tea and walked towards the exit.
A gush of wind blew towards his direction, making his hair blow to a side. Not another step was taken since he heard the sound of a door opening. Jaejoong’s head snapped towards the direction of the sound to see the door to the girl’s room actually open.
Unconscious to himself he was beginning to walk towards the door, not the exit but the door of the tenant’s room, his heart rate for some unknown reason was increasingly speeding up.
It only took a gentle push and he stepped into the room to begin his exploration.
He first set his gaze onto the towering shelves of books and CDs that were neatly stacked. His fingertips gently bushed over the spines of the books on no specific row. A book was pulled out, hardbound and quite heavy as he began to mindlessly turn pages. “The Interpretation of Dreams” was the title something that was bought because of him, but Jaejoong was obvious about it. Placing the book back, he proceeded towards the array of CDs.
She had every album of the Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias, Eminem and AR Rahman. Jaejoong pulled out one of her Enrique albums and studied it. “Handsome man..” He couldn’t help but acknowledge.
Something about the room strangely calmed Jaejoong down. A sense of familiarity hit him hard as he turned to take a glance at the room. She was neat he noted and, by the looks of it, was very artistic. She had arrays of paint brushes of all sizes and types, paint tubes, some used, thrown away and new. Pottery equipment were also spotted in the far end of the room by the side of a microwave oven. Jaejoong instantly knew that that oven wasn’t for cooking.
He breathed in another deep breath. Addictive, the smell was, so much that Jaejoong shut his eyes in bliss.
Getting into her room is wrong but now that he was already there, it wouldn’t be any different if he checked her drawings right? With a smile dancing over his rather excited face, Jaejoong walked towards the drawing books. Accidently he had trampled a piece of cloth which looked like a shawl. Being the neat freak he is known to be, Jaejoong resorted to grab it and place it over the closest chair.
On contact of the cloth Jaejoong frowned. Something about the scent was very familiar. Bringing it to his nose, he sniffed it properly.
The cup crashed onto the floor as its owner dashed out of the door he had trespassed.
It was a quiet evening for Reya. Baekhyun had spent some time with her and had gone back to his hotel. She had clearly ordered him to get back to Korea, warning him of the dangers of being spotted with her. Now that she knew her enemies are aware of her whereabouts, Reya is on high alert. And if, by chance Baekhyun gets caught in the crossfire she wouldn’t forgive herself.
Reya took in a deep breath and looked outside through the window. The sun had set and Elizabeth had begun her preparations for dinner. Was this how it would be if I had a family? She couldn’t help but ask herself. And not knowing the answers, Reya sighed yet again.
She missed her room a lot. Especially at times like this she would resort to either painting or exercising, none of which can be done where she is now. She is more than grateful towards her handler’s wife who is treating her like a queen, something she had never experienced before. But Reya was a loner, she always has been and always will be. Having people look after her, tend to her needs, asking if she needs something, checking up on her was rather
