Author POV

Unable to stay any further in the palace, the young prince decided to head back to his hideout. Just the thought of getting back there and playing with the little girl brought a smile over his face. She was really a sweet little girl and he couldn’t help but wonder why she was a captive there. Maybe she was with the other girl? Or maybe..

Urgh! There were too many unanswered questions!

Remembering his promise to the little girl, he sneaked into the palace kitchens and got himself a hearty meal for three (for the girl, himself and sleeping beauty, hoping that she would wake). Spotting some sweets, Jaejoong grabbed some of them for the girl and turned, only to get caught red handed by one of the assistants of the royal surgeon.

“Oh, Lady Ji Yeon” Jaejoong smiled hiding the food parcel behind his back

“My prince” She bowed respectfully.

“Why are you here and not at the celebrations?”

Because she couldn’t help but follow him back in…. The young girl swallowed her spit, eyes still fixated over the stone floor when she confessed, “I saw my prince unhappily walk away and I couldn’t wonder why so…”

“Ahh I see..”

“Deh”

“So now that you’ve met me, what do you think?”

“I think.. That the prince is…”

“Is?”

She swallowed her spit. “That the prince is hungry…”

Jaejoong laughed heartily. “I guess I got caught…” He continued to laugh, getting the girl to an almost trance, bewitched by his infamous appeal.

Though the crown prince’s beauty is more praised, for her, the prince opposite to her was the most handsome and visually appealing. To her he had this aura that pulls her to him like a magnet so much that she couldn’t help but leave her everything behind and seek refuge in the palace walls. She managed to get into the palace by showing off her skills with herbal medicine and now was standing by the prince – the one man who had captured her attention and heart at first glance.

She could easily cast a spell on him and make him fall for her given who she is, but she wanted to try it the hard way for she knows of Jaejoong’s taste in women, and if, by chance the spell fades (given how strong willed he is), he wouldn’t think twice in beheading her.

“Well if you would excuse me, I have to go have my dinner” Jaejoong snapped her back to reality.

She wanted to ask if she could join him but knew that wouldn’t work. “Ohh sure” She smiled and gave him room to leave.

To her shock though Jaejoong halted on his tracks and turned. “What would you do if, even after first aid to a cut from a sword, the injured does not gain conscious?”

Ji Yeon turned to face the prince. “Well, the treatment depends on badly he is injured sire.. I can give you a proper answer only if I see the injured in person”

Jaejoong nodded and proceeded to walk away. He only took three solid steps but spun back to ask, “Will you swear that you would keep this a secret?”

Ji Yeon smiled. “I swear on my life sire.”

Together they rode on horse, Ji Yeon following the prince in her horse happy that he had finally took notice on her. She had always helped him, tending to his wounds and aches at all times. Finally! After all the struggle she had, he had finally begun trusting her.

She was informed that they were going to one of his hideouts which she assured she would take the secret to her grave but as she neared, she sensed something that brought her hairs up.

There was a werewolf in there. A powerful one too.

She held her breath, readying to protect the prince, noting that it was inside. But to her shock, Jaejoong caringly carried the werewolf to his arms.

“Nari..” The child mumbled in her sleep, allowing him to loosen her hold over the sleeping girl’s hand and carry her. Like a little baby she snuggled over him, throwing her arms around his neck, her legs wrapping around his stomach and slept over his shoulder. Jaejoong smiled, gently caressing her head and proceeded to place her in a warm place to continue to sleep.

Ji Yeon was shocked beyond words. It was past sundown and the werewolf was still in her human form. Was the prince perhaps her mate? Was that why she hasn’t turned? Then who is this girl on the bed?  Many questions filled her head but Jaejoong snapped her back when he spoke. “I did the needful but she hasn’t shown signs of waking up yet. The wound needed stitching which was conducted correctly!  I just don’t get it why she hasn’t woken up!”

Ji Yeon didn’t know what to do other than to watch Jaejoong causally loosen the robe and show her the cleaned injury. “See, all done perfectly yet she isn’t waking up” He pointed out. “I also checked for fever but there was none” He touched her forehead to verify once again. “Nothing yet”

Ideally, this was where Ji Yeon steps in to check the wound, instead, “Did you… perhaps… change her?”

She prayed it wasn’t the case but the faint shade that developed over his pale skin said otherwise. Not daring to look at her, he confessed, “I had to change her since she fell into the sea.”

Jealously filled every vein in her body. Of all women in the country she was considered one of the most beautiful. Regrettably everyone but Prince Jaejoong had appreciated her beauty. And now some stranger had gotten him blushing like a tomato….

Her fists clenched. “I’ll see to the rest my sire. Please, take rest”

“No, I’ll stay. Just please, make sure she wakes up. I need her awake”

So it’s not the werewolf, but this girl who has captured his attention. Anger boiled within her but hid it well. Ji Yeon pulled out a bottle along with the herbs and made a mixture under the prince’s watchful eyes. Oh was she itching to give her a taste of her wrath but unfortunately couldn’t. All it needed was a spell which would make the medicine poison to her on first rub but that would mean her identity would be revealed.

And she would get caught since Jaejoong had only brought her here.

Then again, another simple spell would make him forget everything….

But there was the werewolf who unfortunately couldn’t be shaken by any type of magic. She had to therefore go subtle and get rid of both girls.

Once the medicine was done, the prince himself took the initiative of opening up the wound, not realizing that he was adding coal to the fire, and held onto the sleeping girl.

“This should help kill any internal infection but someone will need to keep an eye on her sire, since we will have to rub this every 6 hours.” She wanted to stay back and take care of both girls on her own.

“I’ll…. I’ll see to that” Jaejoong decided that it was high time his friends knew of his deeds.

“But sire, you’re needed at the palace”

“Don’t worry about that. Thank you”

Jaejoong rode with her back until the edge of the woods. “My apologies, I don’t think I can take you back to the palace.”

She didn’t give him a response. She couldn’t.

“And please, do not tell about her to anyone.”

“I won’t”

Oh she won’t. The more people know of her, given her beauty and king’s kind heart, they might jolly well give them in marriage!

“Then, take care”

Jaejoong turned, and rode back to his hideout while Ji Yeon’s her face turned stern. “Better come back and get rid of her myself…” She decided and rode away.

The clock struck 6 in the morning forcing a hand to jut out of the thick blanket to quieten the sound. The other hand soon jutted out and both stretched to the ceiling as a loud yawn sourced from under the blanket. Lazily a body pushed himself up and Changmin was greeted by his dark room. He got out of his bed, arranged it and headed out to the bathroom for a wash.

Last night was hectic, full of practices for their much awaited comeback – the first time they would step into the stage as a duo and the company was literally pushing them to their limits to make sure everything is perfect. He wasn’t complaining but the sudden increase in his singing parts in a song, along with the dancing was still rather new to him and he was feeling more tired than usual.

Still, life has to go on right? So he and Yunho set all their physical aches aside and are striving hard to keep their dreams alive.

While walking to their shared bathroom, Changmin spotted Yunho arranging vegetables over their kitchen top.

“Why are you doing that now hyung?” He startled the TVXQ leader who had to hold his chest momentarily
