When Seungwan was seven years old, she wanted a younger sister.

So one day when she got home from school, she excitedly ran down stairs to tell her mother.

Her mother looked at her nervously, and brushed her question away.

“Sweetheart, I don't have time now, we'll talk about it another day.”

Seungwan was disappointed.

Because her friends all had younger siblings, and she only had a sixteen year old sister who loves her but didn't pay much attention to her. 

But that day, Joohyun heard what Seungwan asked their mother, and right after eating dinner, Joohyun pulled the latter in her room.

With a sneer, she whispered. “Mother sent our little sister to heaven too soon.”

At the age of seven, and with a child's innocent mind, Seungwan had no idea what that meant.

“Is that why Daddy went away, because he misses her?”

“No, Daddy got depressed and died,” Joohyun replied with a scowl. “But don't be sad, Wan-ah. He's in the clouds, he's with our baby sister now.”

Days went by, and Seungwan remained silent. Yet she could see the light in her mother's eyes no longer lit like it always did.

After her question, their mother wasn't the same.
She would hung her head low as if she were ashamed.
