Was like dust caught in the sunlight.

More like a dreamy state of being than reality.

Like the half-remembered yesterday that still haunts my memories, because she didn't want to forget how it was just so beautiful.

We'd rest on the cold floor with string of light shot across the ceiling.

Drinking in the atmosphere with windows propped wide open.

And by the time, we'd wander into a quiet slumber, we would be drunk instead on the smell of white roses.

Wendy was a broken kind of beautiful.

A beautiful kind of flawed love letters, anonymous and never sent littered.

The dusty floorboards beneath her bed, memories of what we were before love found it's way back around.

Hours passed in a sunset haze, as my fingers ghosted over words she'd written half-asleep.

Blue ink smudged on her delicate fingers.

They say the music comes when your heart is about to break, more like a whimper than a bang.

But I've never heard a song so sweet.

And this sense of lovely and beauty has found its home inside my bones
