1. Hate that I love her

Everyone thinks that Bae Irene doesn't belong in an elite school like Huntsdale High just because she's average. But a certain boy in her class who goes by the name Son Seungwan thinks otherwise.

With an eye-catching beauty and a smart brain like hers, no wonder she suits perfectly well in here. He would always say that to himself and he hates her for that.

He hates her for so many reasons.

He hates that Irene doesn't need to cake her face with make-up to be beautiful. She rarely wears make-up. She's already beautiful. So beautiful to the point where his heart cracks every time he looks at her.

He hates how she's madly interested in Physics, Chemistry and History more than being interested hanging around boys. In fact, she doesn't like lurking around creatures called boys except for one and that is Seungwan himself.

He hates how she doesn't pay attention and doesn't care about the guys who have their eyes on her like a prey.

He hates how she drowns herself in homeworks and researches rather than wasting time partying.

He hates how tough and dangerous she may seem yet she's fragile at the same time.

He hates that she's the only girl who caught his attention, the only girl in his mind and heart.

He hates that those aren't reasons to hate her.

He loves her, and it's like a goddamn disaster.

2. Of pop quiz and a jerk

They had a Biology pop quiz one Monday and Seungwan thought of doing something stupid.

While the busy teacher had her face at the front, he passed a piece of paper to his classmate in front of him and told him to write his impression and his opinion about Irene. It was passed to the entire class and lucky them, they didn't get caught.

As soon as it was returned to Seungwan again, he couldn't help but curse and scoff at everything they wrote. Not a single good word could be seen and all of them were lies.

Bae Irene? even her name taste bitter.

Just because she fits with elites like us doesn't mean she's a cool kid.

She's annoying.

She's strange. I hate strange girls like her.

She's no fυcking match for us. We are her betters.

Lies and jealousy. And cruel people like their classmates are damn good at lying and envying others.

Seungwan cautiously slid the paper on Irene's desk which was on his right side. He expected her to cry, to frown, to curse whoever wrote those but her reaction was surprisingly unexpected.

She gently crumbled the paper, throwing it in the trash bin. Then she turned her head to look at him, smiling as she leaned over into his ear whispering. “You're a jerk.”

He couldn't help but smile back at his dream girl. No one has ever called him a jerk and Irene was the fisrt person at school to call him that and he liked it. He didn't mean to ask their opinion about her because he knew from the start that those people would never praise her, but he would still admit that he's a jerk.

3. I Wish

Irene was hesitant to recite her poem in front of everyone. She knows only a few would listen but then again, she has to do it. The whole class read their own poems out loud so she had no choice.

“Go on, sweetheart.” The teacher said.

Irene took a deep breath before she began to read whatever she wrote for their English-literature homework.
