Plans
Mail Order LeoWhen you woke up the next morning, Leo was curled up next to you, eyes closed. In that moment, he seemed like a sleeping angel, and you appreciated how gentle his expression was. You took a moment to gather your memories and figure out what happened last night, but you couldn’t help but be distracted by Leo’s sleeping form. Instead of moving from your place, you nestled down into the pillows and crawled back into the warmth that you had left right next to him. The anxieties of the previous day seemed melted in the face with of comfort with Leo.
He moved then, feeling you rustling in the sheets perhaps, and rolled over just slightly to allow himself to face upwards. You slid back under the covers completely and laid your head on his arm, using it for a pillow. The clock proved that it was early and there was no need to move just yet anyway. After a moment moment, Leo rolled back over towards you and Laid an arm across your waist.
“Did you sleep well?” As you were about to go back to sleep you heard Leo whisper to you, half asleep still himself. Regardless of anything else that was going on, you couldn’t help but appreciate this update that allowed him to sleep. You graced him with a sort o half smile, though he probably couldn’t see you.
“Well enough,” you responded. You found the nest of his arms and settled within then, fulling intending to sleep there for a while longer. You don’t mention the nightmares you couldn’t shake, since they were mild enough to be ignored for now. You couldn’t quite remember them anyway. Instead you were just enjoying melting in the bed.
“That’s good,” he murmured, before lowering his head to your shoulder and leaving a gentle kiss there. You rolled over and put you face in his way, quietly demanding his attention. He opened one eye, smirked just barely, and kissed you again, this time on the lips. Satisfied, you dozed off again.
When you awoke for real some time later, the space next to you on the bed was empty. The clock claimed it to be quarter after ten, but since it was a Sunday it should have read “sleep more”. Vaguely you smelled bacon and hash browns, but for the moment you were content to lay and stare at the ceiling. You had a few important things you would have to do today, so a few more minutes of rest would be welcome.
You couldn’t leave yourself like this, in these throes of emotions. They would swallow you if you weren’t careful. So the only option? Talk to N, figure out what was going on, and jump your own boyfriend as soon as you got the guts to do so. You nodded to yourself. It was a plan. You pulled back the covers, changed into clothes, and headed out into the kitchen; Leo was yours, and you planned to keep him.
Breakfast, of course, was waiting for you. It was becoming a hobby of Leo's, you thought. You noticed the star fruit still sitting on the counter and felt a little pang of sadness; you hadn't gotten to share it yesterday. Regardless, you put on a smile for Leo. Without fail, you wanted to always smile for him.
“Good morning,” he said as he noticed you, flipping eggs in a pan. You went right over to him and wrapped your arms around him until he turned around enough for you to kiss him. Though he seemed surprised by your growing show of affection, he also seemed happy about it; he kissed you back.
“Dressed already?” he asked as you settled at the counter per usual routine and waited for him to finish cooking.
“Mhh,” you took a quick drink as he asked and so hummed your response. “I figured I would be ready for the day. It'll make me feel more awake.” It's a lie, you thought, but showed no signs of it. It would be better if Leo didn't know, he would just worry anyway. You turned around with a plate of bacon and eggs and placed it in front of you.
“That looks awesome,” you said, thoroughly impressed by his skills as you usually were.
“You have some...” Leo trailed off, looking at you. You looked at him questioningly.
“Some...?”
Leo reached out and gently wiped your lip with his thumb, once quickly and then again, slower. You felt your eyes widen in surprise at the sudden intimate touch, frozen still.
“Some water on your lip.” Nonchalantly Leo finished his thought and turned back to what he was doing, ignorant of the way your lip was heating past boiling point. No matter how hard your tried to get used to him doing things like that, when he did them out of the blue it was a completely unfair killing move. HP down to zero, you thought as you tried to gather yourself. Mayday, mayday.
Leo looked back you after a few moments from the dish he had started to dry. “Is something wrong with it?” He seemed concerned, looking at the way you were staring into your plate and not touching a thing. “I cooked it how you like it--”
“That's not even fair!” You exclaimed in exasperation. “Why can you make me mush in a matter of seconds?!”
“Huh?!” Leo seemed surprised by your sudden energy, watching you for a second before understanding clicked into place. Slowly, then, he smiled and his eyes darkened, and that look came over him that made your heart thud in your chest. He walked around the table towards you slowly.
“Oh, even so early in the morning?” He placed down the towel he was holding and you scrambled for an escape. “Naughty today aren't we? I can give you much more than tha-”
“Wait!”
You stopped him just in time as he leaned over you, around to grab you and pull you into the bedroom no doubt. “I- I need you to do something for me.”
