"Mir, no!" Byunghee shouted as he got a firm grab on the struggling Mir's arm, keeping a good distance so the boy couldn't bit and ripped his throat out. Mir kept growling and snapping his jaw in attempts to bite his victim.

"No. It can't be." Hongki breathed out. Had he failed to protect Mir. He failed to keep his promise to himself. Just like Jonghun. Just like Jaejin. Minhwan and Seunghyun. He failed to save Mir. But, Mir turning was just... Impossible. "He didn't even have any fever." He mumbled to himself. Everything seemed to fall out of pattern.

"I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" Siwon went beserk. His loud voice boomed through the hallway. With his bloodshot eyes, flushed face, and he kept shooting in random direction, it was obvious that the president had lost his mind.

Another scream resounded and followed by Byunghee falling down on his back. His left hand covered his right shoulder and dark red blood flowed through the bullet wound. The stray bullet Siwon had shot had hit him on the shoulder.

"Byunghee hyung!" Hongki shouted and pulled Mir who was trying to attack the injured Byunghee until Mir's back hit his chest. He caged the boy within his arms. 

"I'm okay." Byunghee croaked out, pulling himself up. He eyed Mir with sad eyes. "Mir..." He called again, but the boy only growled at him, struggling more against Hongki, attracted by the blood that was oozing through the wound, seeping through Byunghee's fingers that cupped his wound and dropped onto the floor. Byunghee reached the gun from his holster. Slowly, he used his uninjured hand and pointed the gun right in front of Mir's head. Mir snarled in response.

"Hyung..." Hongki breathed, but he knew, it was the right thing to do. But... But... He didn't want any of this. His hold tightened on the younger boy. Instead of restraining Mir, Hongki actually was more like hugging the boy, burrying his face into Mir's nape. But then, he frowned when he felt heart beating against his hands that united in front of Mir's chest. It couldn't be. He was just hallucinating, was he? Mir's heart couldn't still be beating.

"Is there really no choice?" Byunghee asked to no one. "Mir..." He kept calling the boy's name as his warm tears flow freely, wetting his cheeks. The scene was too heart clenching that Seulong had to look away. Byunghee's hand tremble. He didn't have it in him to shoot. He just didn't.

"What? You're not going to kill him? Then I will!" Suddenly, Siwon was already standing next to them. 

Seulong saw Taemin and Taecyeon both were lying on the floor, Taemin unconscious with pool of blood surrounding him and Taecyeon was panting, holding his bleeding leg and his side.

Crap! Seulong, not thinking, he threw himself in front of Mir and Hongki. He, himself didn't even know why he did that. Maybe he just didn't want someone like Siwon taking Mir out. Or maybe he had no reason at all. Maybe it was just his pure instinct of protecting Mir. He didn't know. A shot landed right on his stomach, sending him falling on the floor in bloody mess. 

"Seulong!" Hongki shouted. He was in panic that he didn't realize how Mir had stopped struggling against his hold. He even forgot about Mir's still beating heart.

Siwon let out a maniacal laugh. "Idiot. All of you are idiots. Why the hell protecting a walker?" He kept laughing. 

Byunghee cocked his gun towards Siwon. "Because he's that important." He said and pulled the trigger. His shot hit Siwon's shoulder, but the lad didn't even a bit affected, only recoiled back for a bit and he continued laughing. That just made the lad like a monster.

"Die." Siwon stopped abruptly, face became stoic and he pointed his gun towards Byunghee. A gunshot and Byunghee closed his eyes expecting the shooting pain, but he felt nothing. Instead, he felt familiar feel of a body hugging him protectively, a figure and scent he would recognize anywhere and he heard the sound of metal clanking next to him. "Mir..."
