The last Chapter

My husband, the babokwang!

•Gi Kwang•

I watched her. I watched her did all those things, and I knew she was enjoying herself. I couldn't help but smile when she smiled. She was just too cute sometimes. And when she started to remember, the hope that was bubbling up inside of me was unbearable. I couldn't wait to see her looking at me with the familiar sparkle in her eyes that was only for me. I couldn't wait.

>Lia<

The manager dropped me off all alone at the entrance of a big building that looked like a palace. It was deserted. I stood there in my green dress, wearing more makeup than I dared. The diamond bracelet Lee Gi Kwang gave me that morning, dangled around my wrist, winking against the lights. The sun was setting, and I had no idea where to go.

Footsteps came from behind me, and I turned around.

"Hyung?" I said, surprised.

Yonghwa hyung came up the steps to me, wearing a tuxedo that looked too good on him. He smiled, stopped right in front of me, and bowed.

"I'm here to you inside, milady." He opened up his arms. "Shall we?"

I was too confused to do anything else other than accepting his hand. We went to the big door, and hyung threw it open. The view inside my breath caught. It was a gorgeous, sophisticated ballroom that was filled with people, wearing dresses and suits. There was a big crystal chandelier at the center top of the ceiling. Waiters were roaming around the place, carrying trays expertly in one hand. The scene was beautiful.

"I have to give that husband of yours credit," Hyung muttered rather reluctantly. "He knows how to throw one hell of a party."

Hyung and I were at the top of a hallway. He gestured for us to move and we glided to the top of the staircase to descend slowly. Hush silence fell upon the crowd and everyone turned around to watch us. I felt a little flustered and self conscious, but since my hyung was beside me, I was confident enough to keep my back straight and held my head up. I looked at the people below and saw my Keomonim, Sahmchon and Ha Seung smiling proudly up at me. Lee Gi Kwang's Eomeonim and Abeonim were there too. A movement on my right made me looked over. Beast members and G.NA were smiling warmly at me. Lee Gi Kwang wasn't there though.

Once hyung and I had reached the bottom, Yoseobie was the first to come towards us. He hugged me.

"You look beautiful, Lia."

 "Thank you."

One by one, Beast came and embraced me. G.NA and some other people I must have known but couldn't remember came and hugged me too. Keomonim kissed my cheeks and had tears in her eyes. People all around were giving me attention, as if I was the birthday girl.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Please, can I have your attention." Lee Gi Kwang's voice came over the speaker.

I Iooked up and saw him on stage, wearing a really nice tux. Leader and Yong Junhyung was standing beside him. I couldn't take my eyes off of them.

"I want to thank you all for coming. I really appreciate it a lot. And thank you to President-nim and Cube entertainment for making this possible. Without further a do, I would like to dedicate a song to a very special someone." He looked right into my eyes then and said, "Please, listen and enjoy."

There were applause. A song started playing over the speaker, and Lee Gi Kwang started performing.

Hey...
  What's going on here?
  Do you hear me?
  No, No, No, No...
  Listen to this song
  Accept my heart, baby

And then, Leader started rapping,

Listen, Aj gonna sing this song for love
  To have her back
Man, do it for love to get her back
  Okay, let's go...

Yong Junhyung's turn,

The image smiling brightly, in my heart still
The words I Love you always in my heart still
I'm still like this, I can't forget you.

Lee Gi Kwang's eyes and mine were locked. I couldn't seem to look away. He was singing, staring deeply into my eyes. And I just couldn't overlook the sincerity in them.

When I bring up the image of your face
  I just sigh
Worrying about if I should leave
  The times we've had
I want to say it now
I want to tell you now
  All the memories of love
  Take them back
You who treated me so so so so
Well well well where did you go
  Wipe away the flowing tears
Again wipe away the tears (locked in sadness)

Those words... I'd heard it before. Like with Yosobie, a prickling started in my brain and I touched my head. Lee Gi Kwang suddenly jumped off the stage and came towards me. He grabbed my waist, still singing and pulled me to the dance floor. I gasped a little, and glanced about. Obviously, people were watching us. This was embarrassing. But if I resisted, it would be more embarassing, so I just followed him. He pulled me close and started slow dancing, still singing as he stared deeply into my eyes.

Oh heavens. My insides were trembling.

  I'm starting to hate myself
Who believed that love was everything
Though I seem like a fool
My heart that's leaning towards you is sincere...

I knew now, how I could have fallen for him in the first place. He was so intense but sincere.

We were the only ones dancing, and I guessed Yoseobie could see how I was getting uncomfortable, because he and Ha Seung started forward to the dance floor and danced beside us. Jang Hyun Seung and G.NA joined us next, and then people started coming in.

Lee Gi Kwang never took his eyes off mine. I was beginning to drown in those eyes. Eyes that was looking at me with so much love... So much love...

An image flashed through my mind. Lee Gi Kwang's eyes staring into mine like what he was doing now. Water rushed over our heads. I didn't feel panic like how I would when I go under water. And those brown eyes just kept on giving me love... Love...

Applause broke out and I came back to my senses. The song had ended and Lee Gi Kwang was pulling away from me. Walking backwards but still holding onto my gaze.

"Thank you, everyone."

•Gi Kwang•

She was beautiful. Oh, so beautiful. I didn't want to let her go when we were dancing. But I had to. The next plan was going to take place soon. I had to be ready.

"Oppa, ready?" Min asked me.

I nodded. We went to the corner of the ballroom, where there was a side door. I glanced back at Yoseob and Hyun Seung worriedly. They caught my gaze and nodded reassuringly. I hoped this plan wasn't going to backfire. Please god!

"I'll stand here," I told Min.

"Then I'll be here," she said, standing in front of me, her back to the ballroom.

I watched as Yoseob and Hyun Seung brought Lia towards us. When they were close enough, and Hyun Seung finally gave me the green light, I turned to Min.

"Now," I told her.

She went up on her toes and kissed me.

>Lia<

Yoseobie and Jang Hyun Seung pulled me to the side, teasing me about my dress. They knew I hated wearing dresses.

"Ya, you better stop that. Jugoshippo?" I scowled at them. They laughed.

At the corner of my eye, I saw something. I turned just in time to see Lee Gi Kwang breaking off a kiss with another girl.

My heartbeat stopped.

Yoseobie and Jang Hyun Seung's laughter died down immediately. They too, saw what I saw. Lee Gi Kwang looked up and saw me. He froze. The girl turned around. I knew this girl. I'd seen her before. But where?

"Oh, Yoseob oppa, Hyun Seung oppa," She greeted the two guys behind me. She looked at me and her head cocked to the side. "Who's this?"

Lee Gi Kwang was watching me. Yoseobie and Jang Hyun Seung were watching me too. They were anticipating my reaction.

This scene... This situation, felt familiar. Lee Gi Kwang kissing another girl... The pain in my heart, felt familiar too. What...?

Distinct images flashed before my eyes. Yoseobie and Jang Hyun Seung, carrying boxes. Me and them, in the elevator. Yoseobie stomping his feet as he laughed hard. The sound of the elevator. Walking out to the apartment. Lee Gi Kwang breaking off a kiss with another girl, in front of Beast's apartment. The prickling in my heart. The sudden hurt and sadness.

It was all too much. The walls around, the people, reliving a memory— it was making it hard to breathe. I whirled around and ran to the staircase.

"L!"

"Lia!"

I didn't turn around or stop running, I kept going up the staircase until I'd reached the top. I saw moonlight spilling through a door at the far corner of the hallway, and I went towards it. I needed fresh air. It was actually a balcony. I halted in front of the railing, feeling breathless. Chest heaving, I took the deepest breath I could master and tried to clear my mind. The fresh night air helped a little.

Footsteps approached from behind and I turned around to see who had followed me. It was Lee Gi Kwang.

I held out a hand to stop him from coming any closer. "Don't," I said, my voice shaking. "Please don't. I want to clear my mind first."

He looked at me worriedly, but didn't come any closer. I turned back around to look up at the night sky. He came to stand beside me, five metres away. We remained quiet for a long moment, as I sorted the memories that I'd recovered in my head. I remembered now. I remembered who was that girl. Min. Lee Gi Kwang's girlfriend. Or not. I couldn't quite understand what my brain was trying to convey. She was his girlfriend but she wasn't his girlfriend. I seriously couldn't understand.

"Gwaenchana?" Lee Gi Kwang asked me softly.

"I am now." My head turned slowly to look at him. "I'm just a little confused right now. I can't understand what my brain is showing me."

"I can help you. Tell me what you see."

I told him, and he sighed. He then explained the images one by one, telling me all that had happened.

"So, Min isn't your girlfriend?" I asked.

He shook his head. "Ani. You're my one and only."

"If that's the case, why were you two kissing just now?"

Lee Gi Kwang grimaced. "I wanted to recreate a scene that would then triggered your brain into remembering. Doctor said it could help. And it did."

My heart warmed and I smiled at him. I guessed he took that as a good sign, because he came closer to me. He placed his hand lightly on my waist and pulled me to him. My eyes widened in surprise. He took my hand and guided it to his shoulder. The other hand he gripped it tight. And then we started swaying.
  I stared at him.
He smiled. "Do you know what this dance is called?"
I didn't answer, just stared at him.
  "Slow dancing."
  Again, this felt familiar.
He swayed me slowly. I let him lead, trusting him. After a few sways— it wasn't awkward at all. It felt right— I finally found my voice.
"We've done this before, haven't we?" I asked. "At our apartment's balcony."
He smiled. "You remembered. It was the first time I've ever held you."
I frowned. "It was?" I answered myself. "Oh, yes. It was."
  "Your memories are coming back."
  "Yes."
He looked down at my wrist and his smile widened. "You're wearing the bracelet."
"Its beautiful. Of course I'd wear it."
He stared into my eyes and said, "I think its time."
  "Time for what?"
He stopped swaying but kept a hold on my hand. "Follow me."
We moved out of the balcony to the hallway, hand in hand. He opened the main door where I had came in with hyung and started out. There was a small hillside beside the building. Lee Gi Kwang pulled me towards it.
"Eodi ka?" I asked, laughing a little.
  "Just trust me, Love."
We climbed up the hillside. When we were almost to the top, Lee Gi Kwang stopped and turned to me.
"Do you trust me?" He asked.
I nodded without hesitation, which made him smile. He went to stand behind me, then covered my eyes with his hands.
His mouth pressing to my ear, he whispered. "Move forward Lia. Just move forward."
I did slowly, wondering what he's up to. After a few more steps, he stopped me.
  "Are you ready?" He asked.
I nodded. His hands vanished. I opened my eyes, and gasped. Right in front of me, exactly at the top of the hillside, was an A1 size photo frame. But it wasn't just any photo frame. Its a photo frame where there were about twenty clear, glass blocks fitted inside. And inside that glass blocks were all pictures of Lee Gi Kwang and me. Frowning a little, I saw five gaps between the glass blocks.
"Why is there gaps?" I asked.
"Ah." Lee Gi Kwang raised his hand, and a waiter came up to the hillside with my bag. Where did he get my bag? I left it in Beast's van.
Lee Gi Kwang took the bag and opened it. "I left five gaps because I wanted you to place them and complete our love story."
He was too sweet. I smiled and took the five glass block out of my bag. Then I turned to the photo frame and carefully placed them one by one in those gaps.
It was so, so beautiful. With the way the moonlight was shining on them, the complete picture was amazing. There was so many pictures of us. Lee Gi Kwang laced his fingers through mine and we stood there together, staring at the pictures.
As I stared, my brain started prickling again. My body turned hot and then cold. At once, everything came bursting back into my head. EVERYTHING.
The night Lucas died. My father beating me using my electric guitar. Keomonim and sahmchon taking me in. Me and Gi Kwang-goon in a church, getting married. Yoseobie sitting beside me in the airplane and talking to me for the first time, going to Korea. Living in the apartment. Gi Kwang-goon kissing me in the kitchen, our first kiss. The night I came back to him...
Everything started coming back, with it, came the intense pain. I gasped and clenched my head.
"Lia?" Gi Kwang was panicking. "Lia! Waegerae? Lia! Appa? I'll go get help!"
I was gasping, but I managed to grab his hands and stopped him from going anywhere. I didn't want him to go anywhere. He stopped moving and just watched me worriedly.
  "Lia?"
I blinked out the tears in my eyes and looked at him. "Gi Kwang-goon."
His eyes widened and he whispered, "Lia?" I could see he was scared to hope.
"Gi Kwang-goon. I remembered everything already. I remembered. Today is our first aniversary! I remembered now, Gi Kwang-ah!"
He kept staring at me with his eyes wide.
I shook him a little. "Saranghae, Gi Kwang. I love you."
That's when it finally hit him that I was back. That I had finally remembered everything. Tears of joy filled his eyes.
  "Lia..." his voice was trembling.
I didn't know who moved first, me or him. I couldn't careless about that. All I knew was that we were reaching out for each other and our lips met. We kissed so deeply, so passionately that it made the cold night air sizzled. I sighed and cupped his cheeks with both of my hands as he deepened the kiss. His cheeks were wet, and I realized that mine was too.
"I missed you," He sobbed almost hysterically once we broke the kiss. "I missed you so much. I was dying inside, Lia. You couldn't remember me and I was—"
"Shh... shh..." I rested my forehead against his, our nose touching. "I'm sorry, baby. I'm so sorry. It won't happen again. Ssh..."
He kissed me again, deeply. Passionately. Hungrily. My emotions were so overwhelming that my heart was about to burst. I knew Gi Kwang was feeling the same too.
When we broke apart, we just stared at each other for a long moment.
  "Saranghae," he whispered.
"I love you too," I said.

 •Gi Kwang•
"You should have told us Lia is your girlfriend," Gayoon said to me.
The rest of the Cube family still thought that Lia was my girlfriend, not my wife. And I let them thought it that way. I was sure there was already news of me having a girlfriend up on the net by now. Heck, I've invited
G.NA, 4minute, Miss A, CNblue and other groups for this party. Some info would confirm leaked out. I didn't care anymore.
Even though I invited them, I didn't tell them what this party was for. That, only Me, Lia, Beast and the rest who knew that we were married, knew that today was our first aniversary.

Today was a special day for me. Lia remembered everything. She remembered me. I got her back. She told me she loved me. My heart was so bloated that I was really surprised that it hadn't burst yet. I was going to end today with one final surprise. It would happen at our apartment, where most of our moments had occured. I took out the small, velvet box from my pocket and gazed down at it. I couldn't wait to see Lia's reaction.

"Mianhae." That was all I could think of to say.
"Hyung, Lia seriously remembered everything already?" Dongwoon asked me.
"Ya, Dongwoon. You've seen her yourself didn't you?" Junhyung said
"I know. I just, still can't believe it."
  "Where's L now?" Yoseob asked.
"She went to the Ladies," I answered.
"Tell her to hurry up. They need to close this place up," Doojoon told me.
The party was over, and everyone had gone home. Just Beast, 4minute and my wife were still here.
"Arasso." I pulled out my phone to call Lia.
"We'll get going first. Annyeong," 4minute said.
We waved them goodbye. Their high heel shoes clicking against the mable floor echoed against the walls. When it was empty, the ballroom felt a little creepy.
"Ya, Gi Kwang-ah. Where's Lia? Tell her to pali! I'm so sleepy right now," Hyun Seung complained.
"Jagaman, she's not picking up my call," I told. I tried calling again. She wasn't answering.
Something didn't feel right. I looked up and Yoseob's eyes met mine. He too, felt the same way.
  "Eoteokke?" He asked.
The kids were watching us now.
"Search this place up," I ordered. "Find Lia."
Immediately, we broke apart. Some ran up the staircase, some went to the back of the room. I went straight to the ladies room, barging in without knocking. It was empty. I looked at the sinks, and saw one of them was still wet. Lia must had been here just minutes ago. Where did she go after that?
I ran out and searched the Men's room. I didn't know why I did that. Obviously she wouldn't be there. I ran out and went back to the ballroom. Hyun Seung and Doojoon were running down the staircase towards me. Yoseob, Dongwoon and Junhyung were coming from all side.
  "Anything?" I asked them.
  They shook their heads.
"Where did she go?" Yoseob wondered aloud.
I tried calling her again. She wasn't answering!
"Damn it Lia! Pick up the ing phone!"
I couldn't help but felt so, so angry. Where the hell did she go? Why didn't she tell me? Did something happen to her?
"Its like she vanished just like that. Without a trace," Junhyung murmured.

   Vanished. Vanished. Vanished.
My heart broke all over again. Lia, where did you go now?
