Chapter 8 ~
Butterfly FlowersWalking up the hill was scary and slippery. You held onto Suho’s arm tightly for balance. Every now and then your step would be too quick and your feet would slip away from underneath you, causing a little squeal to escape your throat. Whenever you did slip, Suho immediately stopped walking to make sure you were balanced again before moving on. You would smile at him, but he wouldn’t see since you were both wearing facemasks. You were wearing a facemask to prevent your face from freezing off in this cold, he wore a facemask to have a smaller chance of being recognized while walking around in public. The facemasks you were wearing matched, making it seem like couple-masks, so you both wearing them wasn’t as suspicious as it would be otherwise.
“Almost there.” You said, not really knowing if you said it to encourage yourself or him. Reaching the top of the hill you let go of Suho’s arm to dig your hands inside your pockets in attempt to get warmer.
“Are you cold?” A muffled voice asked from behind the facemask. You nodded looking at him with squinted eyes. He came to stand in front of you and opened his arms inviting you into a warm hug. You stepped towards him, letting your body lean against his and letting your head rest on his chest. He wrapped his arms around you and carefully began rubbing your back, hoping it would make you warmer. In fact, it did make you feel warmer. You felt warmer because his body was against yours – let’s forget about the thick layers of clothes for just a moment – and because tingles shot through your veins when he showed how much he cared about you.
