Chapter Twenty One

Feelings

You were feeling hot and bothered; constantly taking gulps of your coke while trying to fight off Luhan’s hand on your thigh as Lay did weird things with your leg under the table. All the while you were trying your best to make sure neither Lay nor Luhan knew of what the other was doing and also trying to have a normal conversation with the rest of the people at the table.

You took another gulp of coke, finishing off your glass only to have a strange burning feeling numb the back of your throat. You hadn’t noticed this before and tried to clear your throat with a small cough.

“Want some more?” Luhan asked as he already began pouring more coke into your glass.

You looked at him suspiciously as you rubbed your throat. This wasn’t your typical sore throat from a cold feeling, this was the feeling of downing some heavy alcohol.

His eyes went wide with casual innocence. “What?”

You sighed at his innocent expression. Luhan wouldn’t spike your drink. “Nothing.” You said and turned back to your drink, taking a big gulp. You squeezed your eyes shut in preparation of the burning feeling but you were pleasantly surprised that this time there was no burning feeling. You felt guilty for even thinking that Luhan would do something like that.

“When is this desert coming?” Kris asked with a quick glance at his wrist watch. “I have an art project due tomorrow.”

Chen snorted. “With skills like yours you might as well hand your project into a kindergarten school. Even then you probably wouldn’t pass. You .”

“And your mum swallows.” Kris politely smiled as he held up his drink to Chen, “Glad we cleared that up.”

Suho could sense a fight beginning to break out and sighed. “Come on guys, settle down.”

Mina rolled her eyes at Chen and Kris’s bickering, “Don’t start a fight now, the desert will be coming soon.”

Luhan squeezed your thigh as a golden opportunity had arisen, he smirked darkly and whispered in your ear. “That’s not the only thing that will be ‘coming’ soon.”

Your hand shook around your glass of coke as you tried to keep calm at Luhan’s words. Your cheeks flamed a brilliant red and you were absolutely determined to ignore what he had just said. But your reaction was enough to satisfy Luhan.

You took a deep breath to try and calm yourself. Your thoughts were racing and your heart was beating out of control. Everything was happening too fast, there was too much action tonight from too many people. You quickly took a peek at Lay as you took of sip of coke, your gaze falling to his lips. Why did he have to kiss me? You bit your lip as you remembered the feeling of kissing Lay, a light headed feeling seemed to engulf you. He was so soft. You thought as you looked up to meet his gaze, he was watching you with a small smirk and a quirked eyebrow. He could tell what you were thinking about.

You shook your head to try and clear away the fuzzy feeling, only to realise this wasn’t your average ‘thinking about kissing boys’ light headed feeling. This was something else, this was something you hadn’t experienced before; it was a new feeling.

You were borderline drunk.

“And here’s the dessert!”

You jumped at the sudden appearance of one of the restaurants waiters holding bowels of ice-cream and chocolate covered strawberries. There was choir of delighted ‘about time’ and ‘looks so good’ around the table as everyone received their designated desserts.

Luhan placed the ice-cream down in front on you with a smile. “Still hungry after all the coke or- Saerom?”

You had gotten up out of your seat, “Bathroom.” You said simply before walking off without a second glance, being completely aware that every move you took there was always two people in particular watching you.

Luhan’s face twisted in worry. Something wasn’t right with you. You had been exceptionally quiet in the last 20 minutes to the point where you had been ignoring his attempts at flirting.

Lay watched Luhan watching you walk away with narrowed eyes as began to open his wallet. He nudged Chen who had a mouthful of ice-cream.

“What do ya wan?” Chen asked before he swallowed his food.

Lay cringed at his table manners but discreetly handed him the money under the table. “Keep Luhan here while I go to the bathroom.” He muttered softly.

Chen raised an eyebrow at Lay’s demand and Lay rolled his eyes. “Just do it.” He said as he rose from his seat and began walking to the bathroom.

Chen sighed and shook his head. Something weird is going on here, even for my standards. But he shrugged it off. He’ll be the one able to afford those new Nikes he wanted to get.

Chen plastered a big smile on his face as he slid into the spot next to Luhan where you were previously sitting. “What’s up Lulu?”

You splashed your face with cold water, sighing in content at the cold feeling against your flushed cheeks. You rubbed your temples as you tried to think. I’ve had about three glasses of coke and only myself or Luhan has poured the drink… Well I didn’t spike it myself. You sighed. It must have been Luhan. You thought with disappointment and looked at yourself in the reflection of the mirror. Why would he do that?
