Tiffany messed up.

A. Lot.

It got to a point where netizens coined the term Ddilfany specifically for her.

She had a lot of trouble concentrating with everything going on and would often be seen one step too late or two steps too early or missing a step or even facing the wrong freaking way! Her members tried to brush it off as nothing to keep Tiffany from getting even more stressed, but Tiffany knew she was endangering their image. SM Entertainment did not spend that much money and time on her just so she could make a fool of herself and look like a little dunce on stage. Tiffany knew this could spell trouble not just for SNSD, but for ahjussi as well.

She only hoped that being the president of the company gave him some power over the wolves she could already feel circling around her. Ahjussi had to be something of a Beast if he wanted to protect little ol’ Tiffany Hwang, because one drop of blood and they would be on her like last night’s dinner.

“She is a detriment to the group. She should be cut before SNSD’s image gets worse.”

“She is rather new to all this, perhaps it’s just nerves. She wouldn’t be the first débuted trainee to let the pressure get to her. Maybe if we give her a little more time to adjust.”

“Everyone know that in this business, image is everything. I agree with Mrs. Kang. Tiffany Hwang is ruining the thousands of dollars we have pumped into SNSD to maintain a certain image. They are our brainchild with the amount of money and planning that has gone into them. The girls are supposed to be ‘perfect dolls’ for goodness sake! This isn’t little kids playing in the sandbox. This is the real deal!”

“Yes, but wouldn’t our company be losing even more money by just cutting her loose? What if all she needed was a little time? Then we would have lost ourselves an asset. The girl is quite talented, I think we can all agree.”

“A shame she has the spirit of an unbridled wild mustang! The girl causes trouble wherever she goes! I trust I was not the only one to have heard rumors of gang activity, drug usage, ion for god’s sake! She came into SM looking like some street rat!”

“THAT IS NOT ANY BASIS FOR YOU TO JUDGE HER SO!”

“Mr. Presid–”

“Oh, you still remember me as your president do you Mrs. Kang? The child is having personal issues to deal with, this is not the time to turf her and throw salt on a wound.”

“With all due respe–”

“You have offered me no such respect the moment you decided you wanted to cut Tiffany Hwang from this company based on half-strung lies and malicious rumors. You have offered Tiffany herself no such respect the moment you chose to threaten that child’s position here in this company, that I founded may I add, when you simply opted to jump conclusions and to lay all the blame on her for that incident in the locker rooms. And most importantly, you have offered yourself no such respect by continually trying to undermine my position as your president by spreading spiteful dissent against the child in hopes of removing her from SM.”

“And you have Mr. President? Have you offered the board any such respect that you speak so highly of? Was that respect when you turboed her way into this company? Was that respect when you overlooked all delinquent behav–”

“TIFFANY IS NOT A DELIQUENT! Don’t you dare judge her based on something as shallow as her appearance!”

“Then I confess, I have a bias against that girl. But at the same time, you Mr. President are not so upright as you seem. I may be biased against her, but you are prejudiced for her. So I guess that balances out nicely doesn’t it? No matter, I am but one person on the board. The decision of what to do with one, what are they calling her nowadays? Ah yes…Ddilfany. So! The decision of what to do with Ddilfany resides with the board. Not you. And certainly not me.”

“What do the rest of you board members think? I urge you to be kind in your considerations, the girl is going through a rough patch.”

“Perhaps if you could just explain to us this ‘rough patch’ Mr. President. I am sure if we understood exactly what the girl is facing, she would get a more lenient opinion from us.”

“That is not for me to tell. Those are her personal problems and not for me to broadcast.”

“So we don’t mix personal matters with business matters now Mr. President?”

“I do not appreciate the tone you are taking with me Mrs. Kang, nor do I wish to take your bait and engage in your serpent-tongued web of deceit and spiteful words.”

“Wh–”

“Is there any other members of the board who wish to speak on this matter. Any other member other than Mrs. Kang?”

“…”

“…”

“…”

“…I would like to give the child a chance. I have seen how she performs. Talented and professional. I have a feeling this clumsiness is just a phase. It would be foolish for the board to terminate her because of that.”

“I…I agree with Mr. Park. Let’s keep Ms. Hwang for a while longer.”

“I think the girl is an unstable asset. I agree with Mrs. Kang. She has given us enough trouble as it is. Disappearing for almost a month without notice is unacceptable. She should be cut.”

“While I see the rationality of Mrs. Kang’s logic, I myself am a man with his own children. I do not wish to have it on my conscience that I callously threw away someone else’s daughter like she valued nothing simply based on a few moments of clumsiness and mishaps. I am a businessman, but I am also a father, and I will always, always choose to first and foremost be a father over anything else. I wish for the girl to stay.”

“And the rest of the members of the board?”

“Stay.”
