Chapter 37 - Fireworks
“Miri-ah…”
“Miri-ah…” Taemin called as he gently put his hand on her shoulder, shaking it as an attempt to wake her up. Miri lazily opened her eyes and mumbled something incoherently.
“Wake up.”
He smiled sweetly to the girl who was resting on his chest. Slowly, Miri lifted herself off of his chest and yawned deeply. She quickly blushed when she realized what, or rather who, was the pillow she had been sleeping on. Embarrassed, she turned to the floor blinking profusely. Taemin simply smiled at her.
“It’s midnight,” He said as he grabbed her wrist. He didn’t bother explaining further as he dragged her somewhere unknown.
While walking with him, Miri kept staring at his addictive smile and couldn’t help but smile as well. In Miri’s eyes Taemin was like a dazzling angel. She never imagined how amazing love could make you feel. Especially, when you are with that specific person. It is incredible. If Taemin told her that the world is shaped like a triangle, she would blindly believe his words. At this moment, she didn’t care if Taemin’s love wasn’t as strong as hers. She only cared about being with him and enjoying every little moment they were going to share from that day on.
“Miri?” Taemin rubbed her hands, instantly causing a warm tingle which spread through her body.
“Hm?” Miri woke up from her brief daydream and looked around, trying to recognize the area. “Yah Taemin… what are we doing here? If someone catches us here, we could go to prison!” She panicked as she realized that they were on the roof of the airport.
“Calm down,” He laughed.
“What about your career? Your dreams? All your hard work? Do you want to throw it all away?” She panicked again. She was exaggerating the possible consequences of Taemin’s surprise a little bit. Taemin chuckled at her cuteness and pulled her closer to him.
“Don’t worry… Just look,” He pointed to a big nothing in the sky. “10… 9… 8… 7…” Surprised by his sudden counting, Miri turned to look directly at him. “6… 5… 4…” He drew a little “O” on her face, followed by a kind smile. “3… 2… 1.”
“Happy New Year.”
He kissed her cheeks softly. Suddenly, fireworks lit the night sky with explosively beautiful light.
“How are we going to explain this?” Miri asked, fear prominent in her voice as she looked Taemin in the eye.
“Explain what?” Taemin asked, puzzled while he helped her climb out of the bus. They’ve finally arrived in Seoul.
“This!” Miri raised their attached hands to his eye level.
Taemin made an “O” but then smiled.
“It won’t be a surprise for them.”
“What?”
“If they forced me to realize my feelings any later, I could have lost you.”
Miri glanced at Taemin’s softening expression and gave his hand a firm squeeze. At that moment, she was truly grateful for everything those boys have done for her.
When they arrived the dorm, Miri suddenly remembered that she had never actually been here before. She silently scanned the dorm, as she became curious about what kind of place sheltered the quintet.
Key opened the door and looked at their hands with a big satisfied smile on his face. Miri bit her lips and nervously shifted her eyes away from him. Even Taemin became a little shy under his hyung’s gaze.
“Come in already! Are you guys just going to stand there?” He said with a playful tone in his voice.
Key was relieved that he caught her on time. Otherwise he would have to deal with Taemin’s dead soul in the future.
“Omo!” Jonghyun suddenly appeared beside Key and looked from Miri to Taemin before finally focusing on their joined hands. “Does that mean you guys are dating?” He pointed to the two of them. Taemin and Miri instantly looked at each other and blushed. They looked like cute and innocent five year olds who turn red at the sight of their crushes.
“Are you stupid? Isn’t that pretty obvious?” Key nudged Jong’s head.
“Yeobo~” Jonghyun whined.
“Where are Onew and Minho hyung?” Taemin questioned as he walked into the apartment.
“They have a full day schedule, so they left earlier. We actually have to go to the studio right now.”
“Really? Aish…” Taemin frowned and then looked at Miri.
“Miri? You can wait until we comeback, right?” Key asked sweetly.
Before she could even nod, he yelled “Great!”

This story has a lot more to happen. I would just like to make it clear that this story is not a story that I'm writting with no "direction", what I mean is, the full storyline is all done in my head because it was a dream, like I said before, but I keep adding stuff.
