DARA’S POV

I reached put beside me only to be greeted by an empty space. I opened my eyes and immediately jumped to my feet as soon as I saw the empty space beside me. I quickly ran to the door and was about to reach for the knob when it suddenly opened. I stepped back from surprise but it was quickly replaced by delight when I saw my pancake handsomely smiling at me. Aigoo! He’s so HANDSOME! He was so handsome that o failed to notice the tray of food he was carrying at first. “Pancake!” I greeted enthusiastically. “You’re up so early! You-”

His lips suddenly claimed mine. I whimpered softly. My heart was beating frantically inside my chest. Jeez, what’s wrong with me? It’s not like I haven’t been kissed by him before, right? And it’s not like we haven’t went beyond mere kissing, too. Oh well, I guess I just really love him. And when he pulled back, I was left breathless. “Good morning,” he smiled. “Breakfast in bed?”

“Definitely!” I breathlessly said. He must have seen or heard a different message from my face or voice because he laughed out loud. His eyes were unusually bright too, like it’s glowing. “I love you!” I blurted out. As soon as it was out, I blushed.

“Why are you blushing?” he asked. “Are you ashamed of your feelings for me?”

“Of course not!” I strongly denied. “It’s just that. . . I can’t seem to stop myself from saying it countless of times.”

He smirked. “That’s not bad. I actually find it adorable,” he told me. He settled the tray on one hand as his other hand went to my waist to draw me closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he dipped his head at the side of it.

“Y-you do?” I stammered.

“Yes,” he whispered huskily.

“Then you won’t mind if I say it more often?”

He planted a soft kiss just below my earlobe before pulling away. “It’s time for your breakfast tiny creature,” he smiled.

“I’m not that tiny!” I whined but he just chuckled and led me back to bed.

“Sit," he ordered.

I pouted at his bossy tone but I complied. And my pout earned me a peck on the lips. Oh well, that’s just how life is for me. Hehehe. When I looked down at the food he brought me, I smiled. Pancakes and sausages – perfect. “I love pancakes,” I said.

“I know you do.”

“Breakfast is the most important meal in a day, too.”

“I know that too,” he smiled knowingly.

I nodded then started eating. Now, what’s going on here? Okay, I’ve seen him being unbearably sweet like this before. But there’s just something different about him today. “Why are you staring?” I asked, unable to stop myself.

“I like staring at you,” he said.

I stopped chewing. “What?”

“I said I like staring at you.”

“I heard you the first time but. . .”

“What?” he asked, flashing me that knowing smile of his again.

“Are you possessed?”

“What do you think?”

My eyes widened. “You are possessed!” I exclaimed.

“Maybe I am,” he said and drew closer to claim my lips again. Just when I was having the time of my life, he pulled away again.

“Ya!” I protested.

“You have to finish your breakfast first,” he smiled.

“You’re teasing me!” I exclaimed. “No, you’re seducing me!”

He laughed. “Eat up so we could go home.”

I stayed silent for a moment. “I like the sound of that.”

Silence enveloped us. I went on eating as he just continued staring at me. I tried to act as if his stare wasn’t bothering me when deep inside, I was slowly melting. He’s just so handsome today. Okay, he’s always handsome but he’s extra handsome today. Does that make sense? Aish, never mind. Maybe it has something to do with his smile or eyes. His eyes are smiling and they’re causing chaos inside me. Aigoo!

I don’t know how or why but the next thing I know, I’m already done eating. “Oh, I’m done.”

“Good,” he said. I just smiled at him. “Don’t you want to know what really happened to Kevin?”

The question was thrown at me so suddenly that it caught me off guard. I blinked at him. I wanted to say yes but the haunted look on his face was back again, it was as if he’d rather forget it. “No,” I answered. “I don’t want to hear the details. It doesn’t matter, anyways. What matters is that you’re here.”

“Are you sure?”

I smiled. “Yes.”

“Oh, you’re awake,” a new voice joined in.

I turned my head and saw TOP. He was grinning. Instead of grinning back, I glared at him. “Don’t you know how to knock?”

“Of course I know how to knock,” he said, rolling his eyes. “I just don’t have proper manners to do it.”

I tried to stop the smile that starting to curve my lips but it was going out of control so I went to being snappy. “What do you want?” I snapped.

“Tsk, so snappy, eh?” he commented. “I think I know why.”

“Oh really?”

“It’s obvious, isn’t it?” he went on. “You’re in a foul mood because the first face you saw wasn’t so pleasant, was it?”

I glanced at Jiyong with wide eyes. I squeezed his hand when I saw his face darkened. The brightness in his eyes also disappeared and that irked me. “And you think you’re so pleasant to the eyes?”

“I just don’t think of it, I believe in it,” he said, winking. “Spot the difference? Anyways, now that you’re looking so healthy again, maybe it’s about time we go back to school? I mean, you don’t want the school to drop you off, right?”

“No one asked you to stay,” Jiyong growled.

“True,” TOP agreed. “But it would be boring if I wasn’t here, wouldn’t it?”

I rolled my eyes.

My pancake and I kept ourselves locked in our room for most hours in the morning. We decided to go back to our apartment later in the afternoon. I propped myself up on one elbow and smiled as I watched him pull his boxer shorts up. Unable to stop myself, I whistled. “y ,” I commented.

He turned around to face me, smirking. “Get up, you insatiable tiny creature.”

I chuckled and obeyed him, letting the blanket slid off me. “Dress me, please.”

“Since when did you become so lazy?”

“Just now.”

I kept my eyes on his scarred chest as he went on dressing me up. Everytime I see his scars, I can always feel this tiny ache in my heart. He didn’t deserve any of the scars he has. “Your lips and eyes are back to normal, by the way.”

I blinked. “Really? That was quite fast.”

“Yep.”

“Oh,” I mumbled, nibbling on my lower lip. “Pancake?”

“What?”

“Promise me you won’t dry yourself up just to-”

“I don’t do promises, you know that.”

“Is it really that important to you?” I asked, irked. “Would it really matter if I’m scarless or not? Would you be disgusted if I’m scarred or bad looking?”

“No, it doesn’t matter,” he said.

“Then why-”

“Scars aren’t just superficial marks, Dara. They also bring painful memories. You’ll always remember what caused those scars everytime you see them. I rather you don’t have one.”

“Is that how you feel everytime you see your scars?”

His hands stopped halfway in straightening the shirt he was putting on me. A minute of silence passed before he answered my question. “No, it’s not like that,” he quietly said.

I was tempted to ask for more but I changed my mind. I don’t want to ruin the mood he established, anyways. I don’t want to have scars too but I just wanted to hear from his mouth that he’s feelings won’t change even if I don’t look adorable as he usually say.

As soon as I was dressed, he grabbed my hand and locked it with his. Hand in hand, we walked out of the room and went to the living room to join the others. TOP, Seungri and Youngbae were joined around Sohee, laughing. It would have bothered me but I was in a good mood so I just smiled at Bom who looked up the moment we entered the area.

“Go and have a chat with Bom,” Jiyong said, turning to me. He smiled then kissed me. Aigoo!

With a dazed mind, I walked towards Bom’s direction. I smiled foolishly at her, making her chuckle. “Hello,” I said.

“Glad to see you’re in a good mood,” she smiled back.

“Blame it on Jiyong,” I joked when Sohee’s laughter suddenly penetrated my ears. I turned my head and looked towards her direction. She was at the opposite end of the room, lounging on a sofa. I glanced at Jiyong who was leaning against the wall. There was a small smile on his face.

“You’ll get over it.”

I blinked. “W-what?” I asked, turning to Bom.

“You’ll get over that scene. It’s quite the same when you arrived in our lives so I know what you’re feeling right now. Huh, the boys were quite interested with you, especially Jiyong, although he had a good job hiding it.”

I glanced back at Jiyong and saw him trying to stop himself from smiling. I growled. “Aish!”

Bom chuckled. “Jealous?”

“Not really,” I slowly said, turning back to her again. “It’s just that. . . I don’t know. I mean, don’t you feel a bit hurt everytime Youngbae’s attention stray away from you?”

She shrugged. “Dara, shadows are like. . . gangsters in a way. I thought I already told you about his before? They like games alright, with girls, especially Seungri. They could sleep with anyone they want or whenever they want but the thing is, they usually love just one person.”

“Oh well,” I sighed. “I guess Youngbae’s not the type of playing games and-”

“Actually, Youngbae had his fair share of games even if we were already married.”

“Really?” I asked, my eyes going wide? Youngbae? For real?

“Yes,” she smiled.

“And you’re okay with that?” I asked her in disbelief.

Bom shrugged. “As long as he still comes home to me at the end of the day, I’m fine with it. And don’t look so worried, Dara. Youngbae and Jiyong are two different people. Jiyong might hate me for saying this but he’s an idiot for being so blindly in love with you.”

My ears clapped. “Do you really believe that?”

“I just don’t believe in it. I know it for a fact. Dara, after everything that has happened, how could you still doubt his feelings?”

“I’m not doubting his-”

“Hey spoof!”

I turned to TOP then grimaced. “Don’t call me that!”

“You’re still snappy? If I didn’t know better, I’d think you’re just being defensive because you’re starting to like me.”

“How assuming could you get?! I-”

“erted pancake!”

I paused. Eh? I know that voice alright but the last time I heard him call me pancake in public was the time when I was talking to Jae before. He just called me pancake but now, erted pancake? Kyaa! I looked up at him. “Ya!”

“Come here,” he said.

“Why?” I whined.

“I want to hug you, come here.”

I blushed, like seriously BLUSHED. Aigoo! Aigoo, aigoo, aigoo! What’s going on here? Kyaa, he’s making me giddy. “Why are you being like this?” I mumbled shyly but stood up anyways and went to him. The moment I reached him, he pulled me into a tight hug.

“Seungri, I’m going out. Wanna come?” I heard Sohee said from behind me.

“I think I’ll go out too,” TOP said.

“And I’d prefer it if you won’t return anymore,” Bom commented.

“Don’t be too harsh, round lady. It’s not good for the baby,” TOP countered.

“Leave my wife alone, TOP.”

The next day, I started with a jolt. Jiyong and I went home late afternoon yesterday. He was all sweet and cuddly so I expected to see him staring at me the moment I open my eyes but he was nowhere to be seen. I jumped to my feet and grabbed a robe to cover myself. I went outside the room and started searching for my pancake.

I found him in the kitchen. He had his back on me as it seemed like he was cooking something. He only had his jeans on, totally shirtless. I swallowed hard upon seeing his scarred but muscled back. Ooh, he’s so y! I ran to him and wrapped my arms around his waist from behind. I rested my right cheek on his scarred back and inhaled his natural scent. “Pancake, you’re up early again.”

“I’m making pancakes for you,” he said. “It’s supposed to be breakfast tin bed but since you’re already awake. . .” he trailed.

“I should be the one doing this for you.”

He slowly turned to me without breaking my hold around him. The moment he faced me, he started chuckling. “Your hair looks adorable.”

My eyes widened. I pulled away from him and ran straight to the bathroom. I went in front of the mirror and stared at myself. I groaned after a while. My hair’s a mess! How could he say it looked adorable? Aish! I removed my robe and decided to take a bath. I was on the process of lathering shampoo on my hair when I started feeling as if I’m being watched. I stopped what I’m doing and glanced to my right. A smiling Jiyong greeted me. “Ya! What are you doing here?”

“Watching you, of course,” he said, smirking.

“How did you get in?”

“You didn’t lock the door,” he pointed out.

“Oh!” I mumbled. “Well, are you going to join me or not?”

His smirk grew wider. “I can’t,” he said. “I have to do something outside but I’ll be back later.”

I frowned. “I’ll go with you.”

“It won’t take long,” he assured me. “Your breakfast’s on the table, by the way.”

“You’re going to let me eat alone? You know I hate being alone.”

He rolled his eyes. “It’ll be quick, Dara.”

I pouted. “Fine.”

He chuckled then stepped into the stall and gave me a lingering kiss. “I’ll be back in a few minutes.”

I sighed. “I love you.”

He smiled. I didn’t expect him to say anything, anyways. I’m quite used to it already. “I do too,” he whispered.

I’m done taking a bath but I can’t stop giggling. Aigoo, I think I’m going crazy. As I looked for something to wear, my eyes caught something lacy in the corner. My smile grew wide upon remembering Bom’s gift. I took it out from the closet and put it on me. I wasn’t wearing anything except the lacy lingerie, meaning, I was as close to being . I giggled again. I’m going to surprise my pancake. Hahaha. And then, I heard the main door opened and closed followed by footsteps. Oh, I’ll just eat my breakfast later.

I walked to the bedroom door and took a deep breath before opening it. I fixed a y smile on my face before stepping out to greet him. “Hi pancake,” I said in an alluring voice. But then, my smile faded as I saw five pairs of eyes staring at me. I felt my blood dropped to the floor as I turned to Jiyong and saw him on the verge of laughing. I turned my eyes again to the four people (two men and two women) in corporate attire. And then, I backed out and ran to the bathroom. I locked the door behind me and started breathing heavily. My heart pounded louder when I suddenly heard Jiyong’s laughter from the outside.
