Prologue:

A high-pitched laughter followed by a deep chuckle made him stop in his tracks. His head turned towards the place where they came from. She was at the pool, with a new guy again. They were cuddling while in the water and she was laughing at something he must have whispered to her.  He should not be lingering, he should be on his way doing the household chores a houseboy was assigned to do but he stood there transfixed, or maybe even amused or pissed – he wasn’t sure.

Transfixed because the girl was wearing nothing but a skimpy two-piece suit and when Sandara Park wears something like that, you just have to stop and stare.

Amused because he knew the guy – the guy was supposed to be engaged to be married but he heard the guy’s fiancé pissed Sandara Park off. It’s a common knowledge to those who know Sandara Park that if you value your life, never get in her way, and never piss her off. He heard the girl got pissed because of a pair of shoes. Now, the girl had the guy break his engagement with his 5-year fiancé but he’ll give it three days and she’ll drop him.

And he’s pissed because she was being her usual self.

Jiyong kept his face blank when Dara’s eyes met his through the glass but her face breaks into a knowing smile. She slid her tongue out and ran it along the side of the guy’s neck and whispered something into his ear.

Jiyong started moving away and carried the vacuum cleaner up the stairs to the second floor.  He plugged it in the moment he landed on the next floor. He was already halfway through the hall when the machine suddenly stopped. He sighed and slowly turned around. The girl was at the end of the hall, smirking at him. His eyes dropped to the floor where a small pool of water was gathering. His gaze then slowly travelled up until he finally met her eyes.

“Liking what you see?” she asked, still with that arrogant y smirk on place.

He didn’t say anything. First, he wasn’t in a position to say anything. Second, he didn’t want to satisfy her. Third, he didn’t want to lie.

He looked down and dragged the machine towards the wall, leaning the handle there. He then started walking towards where the girl was to plug the cleaner again but she grabbed the cord and hid it behind her.

She leaned the side of her body against the wall, still staring up at him. They stood there staring at each other. He decided to break the silence. “I’m working.”

“I can see that,” she said with a twinkle of mischief in her eyes. “Do you want to work me out as well?”

“No.”

She laughed and it sounded like chimes. She moved forward and smirked again when he suddenly took a step back. ”Scared?” she asked.

He took a step back again. “I need to go back to my chores, young madam.”

She grimaced. “Can you change the bed sheets in the guest room first?”

“Which guest room?”

She raised a brow. “The one I always use when I’m with someone.”

“Yes, young madam,” he mumbled and started heading towards the guest room.

“Kwon Jiyong,” she called, making him stop in his tracks. “I can tell you don’t really want to be around me, which is understandable but if you want to remain invisible from me, then you should stop being amusing and interesting. You do know my motto, right? You should keep that in mind.”

Kwon Jiyong stood there for a moment. Yes, he knew what her motto was. He literally watched her grow up living up to it. What Dara wants, Dara gets. It was petty and ridiculous. Shaking his head, a small smile curved his lips as he went about his task.
