Vanishing Thoughts

She's The Maid, But She's My Maid, My Girl.

Chapter; Untitled

L.Joe’s room had become a storage facility for newspaper clippings and information the two had found useful. After her maid duties which she now fully regrets taking on, Hye Mi found her way towards L.Joe’s room when she heard voices coming from the Mrs Lee’s study room below. Now normally, she could continue to walk on by ignoring whatever trouble Mrs Lee would construct but she couldn’t help but recognise the other voices; the Jangs were there too.

“Now tell me, to what pleasure do I owe to garner such a wonderful visit,” Mrs Lee said in a harmonious tune but even without seeing her face, Hye Mi could tell that this tune was as fake as the hair on Mrs Lee’s head.

“Why did your son reject our offer?” Mr Jang said. A sound of chair legs scrapping the floorboard could be heard, he must have gotten up from it.

“He has no interest modelling or becoming the face of your company,” Mrs Lee said swiftly now she too was standing, holding her head high with her pride.

“You did this! He was supposed to marry WooRi and then you made him go out with that stupid maid of yours and now this? You are outrageous, trying to play God with our children’s lives,” Mr Jang spat out with clear anger.

“Playing God? Who is the one that is trying to dictate the future of our children?” Mr Lee’s voice was heard now. Both sets of parents must be there.

“It’s not dictating, it’s directing,” Mrs Jang spat back.

Slowly, Hye Mi moved out of her spot to drag L.Joe to listen to the argument occurring.

“What are you doing?” he asked but the only reply he got in return was a finger to his lips and a shushing sound from Hye Mi.

“You cannot seriously believe that I could believe that,” Mr Lee said with utter frustration, even though he was usually a kind and patient person, the Jangs were getting on his last nerve.

“Don’t believe it, it’s the truth. Direction and not dictating,” Mr Jang attempted to shrug it off nonchantly.

“Just because you directed your company to fail does not mean we will do the same for ours,” Mrs Lee dealt the final blow.

“How did we fail? Our company is still currently running,” Mrs Jang shouted feeling victimised.

“What is the difference between running and failing if you aren’t succeeding?” Mrs Lee saw through the plans all along hoping they wouldn’t do anything stupid but they just couldn’t help become stupid. It was like this in college and even as grown adults with children, they still act immature.

With that, the Jangs got up angrily and stormed out of the Lee Household.

---

“Even your parents knew something was up with the Jangs,” Hye Mi as she folded one of L.joe’s shirts and put it in his wardrobe. She was currently on her maid duties which she had been neglecting for a while now.

“I think everyone thought something was up with them,” He sighed as he marked a few dates on his calendar.

“Hey, let’s go shopping!” He said well rather shouted excitedly as he noticed what the day was.

“What for? I’m busy at the moment,” she said putting away more of his clothes.

“It’s time for my seasonal wardrobe update,” he said and grabbed her hand pulling her out of his room.

“Yah, I’m still in my uniform. At least let me change out of them,” she huffed and left off to the maid headquarters.

“Ooh, is someone going on a date,” Bomi cooed as she walked into the headquarters after cleaning up the main ‘sitting’ room.

“Nope, strictly maid duties,” Hye Mi responded externally but internally she was screaming ‘hopefully yes.’

“Hye Mi! Will you hurry up!” L.Joe’s voice travelled into the room causing Bomi to giggle.

“Someone’s prince is impatient, better hurry up now,” she giggled before pushing Hye Mi into the wardrobe.

Hye Mi came out a minute later in just skinny jeans and a sweater to match the season. She didn’t really like to dress flashy like other girls her age nor did she really appreciate wearing heels on a daily basis. She’d say that only crazy people would do that. Instead of heels, she wore converses that colour of a blue sea.

“You’re going to have to dress more feminine at some point otherwise you might lose his interest,” Bomi sighed as she looked over Hye Mi’s outfit.

“Well not today!” Hye Mi said as she practically ran out to L.Joe.

---

Although the day was supposed to be about finding new clothing items for L.Joe, it seemed that L.Joe wanted to spend the day finding outfits and new clothing items for Hye Mi instead.

“Go try this on and this one too,” he said as he piled up a stack of dresses into her arms. ,”And match them with these shoes,” he said handing her a pair of heels.

“Yeah, I don’t do heels really, next,” She said passing on the heels.

“Well too bad,” he smiled angelically before pushing her into a fitting room. It seemed like today everyone was pushing her around.

She came out in the first outfit and L.joe could not take his eyes off her. She was gorgeous, more beautiful than the models on the cat walk. The dress was simple. A black strapless dress stopping mid-thing, figure hugging as well. The heels, a glossy black matching perfectly, all she needed was a clutch and she was ready for the night out in the city’s best clubs.

“So how do I look?” She asked as she awkwardly stumbled out of the small cubical in the heels.

“Absolutely amazing,” he said eyes still not leaving her.

“That looks really good,” a passing sales assistant commented and gave thumbs up.

“Go back and change into your normal clothes,” L.joe said as he helped Hye Mi walk back into the cubical knowing she was struggling with the shoes.

By the time the two returned home, they had spent over a 600,000wons between them and had more than 50 bags of shoes, clothes and accessories. Looking back on the day, L.joe couldn’t help but smile, he had fun being with Hye Mi and all thoughts of the Jang from earlier before had vanished.
