Chanyeol chokes on the food in his mouth and exclaims, “What?”

Baekhyun panics at the words that just rushed out of his mouth. He just said them without thinking after Chanyeol smiled at him. They were the first words he thought and they were unrestrained.

He quickly realizes what he had just blurted and he knows that it could ruin everything. He has the option to finally tell Chanyeol the truth, but he doesn’t have the courage to. “I like you, that’s probably how Kyungsoo told Jongin! See I’m not that clueless,” Baekhyun huffs not realizing the kind of effect his words actually had on Chanyeol.

Even though Baekhyun had covered those words to show what Kyungsoo had said, trying them out like that made his own heart beat faster.  He really wanted to know what Chanyeol would truly say if he had confessed to him. He imagined that Chanyeol would avoid him, how weird for a high school student to pine after a teacher. Not to forget, Chanyeol was taken, and if Kyungsoo had spoken the truth then it was by a great man.

“Hyung,” he says quietly and Chanyeol hums, he had become really quiet after Baekhyun’s sudden words. “Don’t you need to go home to your boyfriend? It’s getting late.”

Chanyeol looks up at Baekhyun and shakes his head, “No, he’s not waiting for me tonight.”

“Kyungsoo told me about him,” Baekhyun clarifies so that he doesn’t seem like some stalker. Chanyeol looks reluctant to speak about him which pains Baekhyun because he feels like he’s not trusted. But he really wants to be trusted by Chanyeol, he wants to be the person Chanyeol can speak to, the person who he can tell his darkest and deepest secrets.

“C-can I see his picture?” he feels like an idiot for stuttering but Chanyeol gives him a small smile and pulls out his wallet.

Baekhyun wants to see the picture, partly out of curiosity, but mainly because he thinks he can find closer. If he sees him, it’ll be more tangible; he’ll know for sure that Chanyeol already has someone else in his heart. Baekhyun could never live with himself if he ruined a relationship. Chanyeol pulls out a small picture and tilts it towards him. It’s of both of them, and his boyfriend has his arms around Chanyeol, whom has the biggest smile on his face.
