The next morning, Kim received a text message from Gerald about his departure and the condition of his dad. When she read the message, she immediately called him up

“Hello?”

“Ge! How’s your dad?”

“Don’t worry he’s getting better.”

“Good Lord…. When will he be discharged?”

“I think, he’ll be discharged two days from now”

“Okay.. I’ll see you later” Kim said

“What?”

“I’ll take the flight now.. I have to see him”

“See him or see me?” Gerald teased

 “You wish!.... Come on Ge.. He’s my dad too… My second dad…” Kim said

Gerald smiled on the other line “Alright.. I’ll pick you up at the airport. Just call me”

“Okay. Bye”

When Kim arrived in Manila, Gerald was already in the lobby waiting for her. When she saw him, she hurriedly went to hug him.

Gerald was confused but he just savored the moment. When Kim finally realized what she just did, she slowly released from the hug, she grabbed his hand, intertwined it with hers and said, “Let’s go!”

Gerald was really getting confused. But he just went on with her. He doesn’t want to ruin the moment.

At the hospital…

“Mommy Kim!” Baby Sue immediately hugged Kim when she saw her.

“Hi Baby Sue!” Kim knelt to hug her back. Suddenly, while she’s carrying Sue, she felt tears forming in her lids. Gerald noticed it so he pulled Sue from Kim

“Lika dito baby.. May pasalubong si tito sa yo…” He then handed her chocolate.

Kim sat on the couch… Gerald’s dad was sleeping so it was her ate Jen and Sue who welcomed them in the room.

“Gusto mong lumabas?” Gerald offered Kim his hand and she took it willingly.

Gerald guided her to the elevator and brought her at the hospital’s roof top.

Kim stared at nowhere. She had her arms crossed on her chest and Gerald stood beside her. Long silence…

“Kim?”

She turned to look at him

Gerald continued “I’m sorry…”

“Sorry for what?”

“Sorry… Kasi nasasaktan ka pa rin ng ganyan ngayon… At… Wala akong magawa to heal the pain…” He cried

“Hey” She went across him and wiped away his tears using her thumb. “I know I blamed you for all the things that had happened to our daughter.. And I must be the one here to say sorry…… I shouldn’t have done that…….. Walang may gusto sa mga nangyari….. Dapat nga nagpapasalamat ako sa Diyos ngayon dahil binigyan niya pa ako ng isa pang buhay… Masyado akong nagpadala sa nawala sa akin… Hindi ko naisip na sobrang swerte ko dahil nagkaroon ako ng asawang katulad mo.” She cupped his face “I now understand kung bakit mo nagawa yun…. Dahil mahal mo ako… Utang ko sa yo at sa anak natin ang buhay ko… Kaya dapat I should make this life worth living…”

Gerald held her hands from his face

Kim continued “You know what?.... When I was away for a month, I did realize a lot of things….. That….. that I can’t really live without you in my life…..” Kim cried of her declaration

Gerald gathered her and let her sob in his arms.

“Kahit ano palang mangyari sa atin, magka amnesia man ako o magalit sa yo, mahal pa rin kita.. mahal na mahal kita at lalo pa akong naiinlove sa yo! Kaw kasi!” Kim rested her head on his chest.

Gerald laughed at her

“Bakit mo ko pinagtatawanan?” Kim raised her head from his chest

“Alam ko naman kasi kung bakit in love na in love ka sa kin kahit anong mangyari eh..” Gerald said

“At bakit? Kim raised her brow

“Ano pa ba? …. Gwapo eh! Lakas ng appeal!” Gerald proudly declared

Kim pinched both his cheeks “Yabang!,… Pero it’s true! Sino ba namang hindi maiinlove kung may asawa kang kasing gwapo ni Gerald Anderson” Kim hugged him again and nestled her head on the crook of his neck. She was his back at the same time and Gerald is doing the same at her back.

“Ibig sabihin ba nito, okay na tayo?” Gerald said from her ear

“Hmmm… Hindi pa….. Sa isang kondisyon” Kim released from him

“Anything.. Kahit ano gagawin ko….” Gerald waited for her answer

“Kiss mo muna ko” Kim was smiling and pleaded like a child

Gerald had his naughtiest smile again, he wasted no time, gathered her in his arms, and devoured her lips completely. They sought each other’s mouth longingly and hungrily. His hands cupped her head and caressed the curves of her back and hips. He moved his tongue to open her lips and she opened it willingy, wanted to be explored. They were kissing each other passionately under the sun for minutes already, never wanted to let go of each other.

Kim let go of the kiss half , catching her breathe. “I did tell you to kiss me, not to kill me” Kim joked

“Oh.. I’m sorry honey… I yearned for this for a very long time… Now that I have you again, we’ll make up for all the lost time” he grabbed her shouders and kissed her temple

“Don’t worry honey, babawi ako sa yo” Kim said lovingly

“Honey, let’s go home” Gerald said

“Ge!” she slapped him on his chest “We’re here to take care of your dad”

“Hmm… Nandito naman sila ate Jen eh”

“Kahit na… They still need us.. Para san pa’t umuwi ako dito sa Manila kung hindi ko rin maaalagaan si dad.” Kim said

“Alam ko naman kaya ka umuwi dito kasi miss mo ko eh” Gerald teased

“Well, It was just part of my many reasons” Kim teased

“I love you”

“I love you too…”

Gerald neared his head again and gently brushed his lips on hers.

“Honey, kanina, bakit ka naiyak nung niyakap mo si Sue? Naalala mo ba ang anak natin?”

Kim sighed “Everytime I see little girls, naaalala ko yung anak natin. Anyway, I know na she’s at peace now and happy together with the angels. Honey, yung mga bata sa orphanage, I still want to help them. Let’s help them and support their needs. I feel happy pag napapasya ko sila.”

Gerald cupped her face. “Honey, If that’s what you want, then, that’s what we’ll do.”

They came back together inside the room of his dad hand in hand. When Randy saw them, he signaled two thumbs up for Gerald and Gerald smiled at him.
