Before they turn to the orphanage, dumaan muna sila sa grocery to buy some stuffs for the kids. Kim was the one picking up the items and Gerald was the one who pushes the cart.

Suddenly, an old couple noticed them so they approached them

“Kim? Gerald?” the old lady said

When Kim heard the voice, she knew it was her parents’ close friends and business partners

“Ge!” she whispered

“Sila Mr. Lopez!” he whispered

The old couple was already behind them.

“Kim! Gerald! Kayo nga!”

“Hi Tito! Tita!” they both gave beso on each of them

“Kamusta na kayo?! Long time no see… Teka, nasa honeymoon pa rin ba kayo kaya nandito kayo sa Cebu?”

Kim was surprised by Mrs. Lopez’s question but Gerald held her and wrapped his arm on her waist. “Ano nanamang pinaplano ng lalakeng to?”

“Opo tita.” Gerald said and pretended to be sweet on Kim in front of the old couple.

“Naku! Kayo talagang dalawa! Wag kayong mag alala, dadating din ang magiging bagong member ng Chiu at Anderson.”

“Wag po kayong mag alala. Malapit na po.. Di ba hon?” Gerald tightened his grip on Kim

Kim raised her eyes and said “Ayy--- ehh—opo—opo! Malapit na po!” she faked a laugh

“Ayy! Maganda yan! Teka, may lakad ba kayong dalawa? Gusto ko sana kayong imbitahan sa bahay namin tomorrow for dinner. You know, matagal tagal rin tayong hindi nakakapagkwentuhan.” Mr. Lopez said

“Talaga po!? Sige po! We’re free tomorrow! Di ba hon?” Gerald immediately said

“O—opo!” Kim said

“That’s good! Oh pano, mauna na kami sa inyo ah… See you tomorrow!”

“Sige po! See you tomorrow!”

Then they left

“Ano nanaman yang ginawa mo!!!?” Kim pinched his stomach

“Araay! Eto naman! Syempre hindi nila dapat malaman yung kung ano tayo ngayon. Kasi remember, Yung kapatid ni Mr. Lopez nagpaplano maglagay ng account sa Andersons so dapat alam nilang okay tayo.”

“May point naman siya” Kim told herself

“Don’t worry… I’m not going to take advantage of the situation…... I just want to protect your name” Gerald said casually

“Okay!...... (long silence)……………………. Lika na! Bayaran na natin to!”

Sa orphanage…

Kim was the first to step out of the car and Gerald managed first to settle his car in the parking lot.

“ATE KIM!!!” The children rejoiced as they see their ate Kim…

Kim hugged each of them and she felt somewhat relieved habang niyayakap niya ang mga bata. It decreases her pain for the loss of her daughter

“Ate Kim, Bakit po kayo nakasakay dun sa sasakyan ni Kuya Pogi?” one child asked

“Haah?! Bakit? Ganun din ba yung sasakyan nung Kuya Pogi na sinasabi niyo?”

“Opo!!! Palagi niya nga po kaming binibigyan ng mga bagong toys tsaka books eh”

Suddenly….

“Kuya Pogi!!!!” the children screamed and Gerald handed them their presents

Kim turned her back to see whom they refer to and there, she saw Gerald

“Ge?”

“Yes, you’re right. When I found out  that you’re giving these kids your time, I decided to do the same.”

“Ahmm.. Children…. Pasok muna kayo dun sa loob. Mag uusap lang kami ni Kuya Pogi” Kim said

Gerald continued “Kim, I know why you’re doing this. And eto rin ang gusto kong gawin. Sigurado ako na masaya ang anak nating makita na marami tayong batang natutulungan.”

Kim’s tears started to fall again

“Ohh….... Sshhh…….. Wag ka namang umiyak oh” Gerald wiped the tears from her face and he wrapped her in his arms.

Kim rested her head on his chest “Hindi ko alam kung maiinis ako sa yo o matutuwa ako!” She said between sobs

“I love you” Gerald whispered in her ears

When she heard it, she let go from his hug “Ge, not now.. Please..” she said coldly

“Okay.. I’m sorry…. I’m not sorry for loving you but I’m sorry to take things fast to you.. basta kahit anong mangyari, nandito lang ako para sa yo..”

“Ge.. Stop it.. Sa sinasabi mo I feel na it’s unfair on your part to do this to me…. Well, in fact I can’t return the favor.”

“Sshh… Don’t thing of that… I know hindi ka pa ready.. Hindi naman kita minamadali eh..The pain is still fresh… I’m just letting you know and feel about my feelings.. Yun lang” Gerald said

She nodded

“Kim, iha…” Sister Lourdes approached her from afar.

When she got closer, “Mr. Anderson?..... Magkakilala kayo?”

Gerald was the one who answered “Actually sister, Kim’s my wife” he declared

“Talaga!? Naku, bakit hindi niyo agad sinabi? Ang bait talaga ng Diyos dahil pinagkaloob niya kayong mag asawa sa amin!”

Kim just smiled to them

They had a fun time with the children. Gerald played with them and Kim read a story for them. Altogether, they ate the food Kim and Gerald brought. After supper, Kim and Gerald bid goodbye.

Inside the car…

“Kim…. Thank you”

“Thank you for what?”

“Thank you for giving me a chance na makasama kita ngayon…. I hope more to come”

“You don’t have to thank me. Mag asawa tayo…. And I’m sorry for bringing all these to you..”

“I understand………... When you’re ready right?”

She nodded

“Saan ka nga pala tumutuloy ngayon?”

“Naka check in ako sa hotel niyo. One month na ko dun” he smiled

“Haah? Eh bakit parang hindi ko naman nakita sa records na naka check in ka dun?”

“I asked ate Kams to hide it….. I was scared kasi na baka lalo ka pang lumayo kung magpapakita ako sa yo agad nung time na lumayo ka.. So, I let the time heal…”

“Kasabwat pala si Ate Kams ahh…”

“Don’t blame her… Kinulit ko siya eh” he smiled

“Oo na!”

When they arrive home, Gerald opened the car door for Kim.

“Kim…. Thanks for today.. Kung hindi mo siguro ako inalagaan, malamang nilalagnat pa rin ako hanggang ngayon.. Kahit kalian talaga ikaw ang medicine ko” he

“I know!”

“See you tomorrow…” He slowly makes his face closer to her

He wants to do this to her sa buong maghapon na magkasama sila. He misses her sweet lips so much. The fact na, he was able to kiss her last night, it feels like kulang pa rin yun to make up for all the time they lost. But of course, he respects her a lot.

His lips was an inch closer from hers and Kim had her eyes closed. Suddenly, she felt his lips landed on her forehead then she opened her eyes.

“Good night” and he left

She doesn’t know whether she’ll be disappointed dahil hindi natuloy yung kiss or would be happy knowing that he has a lot of respect for her.
