His whole body and system froze while he digests the doctor’s words.

He remained staring at the doctor, tears falling from his lids with no emotion on his face.

Doctor Garcia continued “She has to undergo chemo therapies and other procedures para maagapan ang pagkalat ng cancer cells sa puso niya…………… Pero,… mahirap ang sitwasyon niya ngayon coz she’s carrying another life inside her. Her pregnancy is at a hundred percent risk. Hindi siya pwedeng mag chemo kasi makakasama yun sa baby and it might die inside. Kung sakaling ipupursue niya ang pregnancy niya, 95% ang possibility na mamatay ang asawa mo when she delivers the child.

“So anong gusto mong gawin ko? Mamili ako sa asawa at anak ko?! Ganun ba ang gusto mong mangyari?....Ha?” He angrily said to the doctor just in time when his parents arrived.

“RJ? Anong nangyayari?”

“Wala na bang iba pang paraan para mailigtas niyo ang asawa’t anak ko?” Gerald asked the doctor

“Mr. Anderson, I’m sorry to tell you but you really don’t have any other choice. You have to choose kung itutuloy niyo pa ang pregnancy wherein 95% ang possibility na mamatay ang misis mo sa delivery or iteterminate ang baby para mailigtas at mabuhay ang asawa mo.”

Gerald stared blankly and cried hard

“Nasa inyo ang desisyon. Maiwan ko muna kayo” Doctor Garcia left

On the other hand, Kim as well was informed about her condition and the options the doctor gave her. She was crying alone inside the room and is gathering courage to tell Gerald about her condition. Hindi niya alam na alam na rin ni Gerald ang lahat. Malinaw na kay Kim na gusto niyang iligtas ang anak nila. Para sa isang ina at babaeng katulad niya, she would do everything para sa ikabubuti ng anak niya kahit buhay niya pa ang kapalit.

But how about Gerald? Sino ang ililigtas niya? Mahal niya pareho ang asawa at anak nila but he has only to choose one from them.

“I can’t afford to lose any of them Ma.” Gerald cried to his mom.

“Be strong RJ. Hindi ka pababayaan ng Diyos.”

In his heart, It was Kim whom he will die for and would do anything for. No one could ever replace her in his heart….. No one.
