Taehyun was getting himself ready to go to the café when a call came in.

Dad?

Why would he call me the first thing in the morning?

“Yeoboseyo? Is there anything wrong, dad?”

From the end of the line, Taehyun could tell his father’s voice was trembling and he could hear some sort of commotion too.

“Dad, are you okay?”

His jaw dropped as soon as his father told him the reason.

“Are you kidding me, dad? There’s no way Red Scorpion is coming for us.”

Then, Seungyoon’s face came across his mind.

No, it can’t be.

I will not drag him into this mess.

“Dad, are you sure they knew where we are now?”

He was trembling in fear when his father told him that his men saw some of the Red Scorpion gang members were lurking around Seoul.

Deep inside his heart, Taehyun wanted to confront the Red Scorpion’s gang leader himself.

He put his fear aside when it came to his precious ones’ life.

From the dramas and films that he used to watch, he knew the ending will not be good if one gets involved with the gangs.

It is either good or bad that will perish.

And only time and luck will tell.

“I’ve told you, dad. I’m not leaving, and I’ve got my own reason for that.”

Taehyun could hear his father sighed and eventually gave in.

“Nae, arasso. I will take care of myself, okay? You don’t have to worry about me.”

He then hung up the call and threw himself onto the bed.

When he checked his phone, he shrieked.

“Oh, God. There were so many missed calls!”

As he checked the phone log, he could see three numbers that popped up the most.

Yoonie Love.

Jinwoo hyung.

Song Mino.

“They must be wondering where the hell I am.”

Without hesitating, he called Seungyoon.

At the moment he heard Seungyoon’s voice, he heaved a sigh of relief.

“Seungyoon-ah, bogoshipeo.”

From the end of the line, he could hear Seungyoon’s voice changed, indicating that he might be worried for him.

“Jagiya, mian. I might not be able to go to the café today. Please tell Jinwoo hyung, arasso?”

Taehyun could hear Jinwoo’s and Mino’s voices from the other side of the line.

It seemed that both of them had something to say to him.

“Seungyoon-ah, I’ll meet you tonight, okay?”

He then ended the call with a heavy heart.

“I’m sorry, Seungyoon.”

Taehyun had promised to meet with his father right before he ended the call earlier.

After a few minutes of waiting, from the balcony, he could see a white Hyundai Starex pulled over inside the apartment complex.

As the car stopped, he got a call from his father.

“I’m coming.”

A few minutes later, he was already inside his father’s car.

“Dad, I’m scared.”

Taehyun let out his honest feeling as it was disturbing him.

He felt like he was alone and there was no one to protect or defend him.

“Don’t worry, okay? I’m here.”

His father then took his hand and hold it tight.

“I’ll always be there for you, alright?”

At that moment, his memories with Seungyoon came flooding back.

It was the same words that been said by Seungyoon.

He will always be there for him.

Out of a sudden, tears could be seen rolling down his cheeks.

“Adeul, gwenchana?”

As soon as his father pulled Taehyun into a hug, he cried his heart out.

“Hey, why are you crying?”

His father seemed lost and didn’t know what to do, apart from patting him on the back.

“Boss, is everything okay?”

He nodded, signaling that everything was okay to his right-hand man.

“Dad, can you promise me one other thing?”

Taehyun’s eyes were glistening with tears as he looked at his father.

“What is that, son?”

“If anything happens to me, could you please protect Seungyoon for me?”

“Seungyoon? Who’s that?”

Taehyun took a deep breath before continued.

“He’s my namja chingu.”

He could see that his father was astounded by that, but then he nodded.

“I will.”
