“Are you ready to tell your dad?”

Taehyun asked while handing over a can of Coca Cola to Seungyoon.

They were on leave that day and had spent some time together for a date at Han River Park.

“Not yet, I guess.”

Seungyoon then turned to look at Taehyun, who was already looking at his direction.

“Can you give me some more time? I think we should see how this is going.”

Taehyun smiled before threw his look over the river.

“Gwenchana. Just take your time, okay?”

He then patted Seungyoon’s head softly.

“Thank you.”

“Thank you? What is it for?”

Seungyoon asked before turned to face Taehyun on his left.

“For considering my feelings for you.”

At that moment, Seungyoon could feel his cheeks were turning red.

He was embarrassed by that kind of statement.

“It’s not a big deal…”

“Yes, it does.”

Taehyun took a deep breath before continued.

“Not everyone is understanding and open about it.”

Seungyoon then reached for Taehyun’s hand and hold it tight.

“Don’t worry, okay? I’ll be here for you.”

As soon as they drew in closer, Taehyun stopped abruptly.

“Wait a minute.”

He then took out an Instax camera from his bag.

“We should keep this as a memory. Our first date.”

Taehyun wrapped his hand around Seungyoon’s shoulder before took a picture of them both.

“Hana, dul, set. Smile!”

Without warning, he planted a kiss on Seungyoon’s left cheek.

“Saranghae, Seungyoon-ah.”

Seungyoon froze, didn’t know what to do.

It was the first time Taehyun told him directly.

“What did you just said?”

Taehyun seemed a bit confused and put down his camera.

“Wae? I didn’t say anything though. I was keeping the polaroid in my bag.”

Are you kidding me?

It wasn’t him who said that just now?

Am I dreaming?

Oh gosh.

Seungyoon then buried his face in his hands, feeling embarrassed.

“Seungyoon-ah, gwenchana? Are you sick?”

Taehyun then put his hand on his boyfriend’s forehead.

The temperature is normal though.

“Are you okay? Please don’t make me worried.”

Seungyoon then shook his head, signalling that he was doing okay.

Out of sudden, Taehyun giggled.

“Are you embarrassed by that ‘saranghae’ just now?”

Damn it.

It was indeed him.

“Why is my namja chingu so cute?”

Taehyun then pulled the flustered Seungyoon into a hug.

“I love you, pabo-ya.”

That night, Seungyoon went out for a dinner with his father.

Along the way to the restaurant, nobody was saying anything.

Suddenly, his father cleared his throat, as if signalling him to say a word.

“I’m okay, dad.”

“I beg your pardon, Seungyoon?”

“Nothing. I thought you’re talking to me.”

What an idiot, Seungyoon.

Nobody is talking to you.

“Are you okay? You seemed to space out these few days.”

He shook his head and gave him a faint smile.

“I’m okay, dad.”

“Nope, you’re not. You’re my only son, Yoonie. I know there’s something on your mind.”

Seungyoon could see that his father was looking at him from the end of his eyes.

He was contemplating whether to come out to his father or not.

Seungyoon couldn’t predict what his father will say if he knew about his relationship with Taehyun.

Oh, Lord.

What should I do?

“Are you having a problem with your girlfriend?”

Girlfriend.

From that statement alone, he knew that his father was expecting him to have a relationship with a girl, not a boy.

After having a second thought, Seungyoon had come to a decision.

It’s now or never.

“What if it isn’t about a girlfriend? But, a boyfriend?”

Seungyoon shut his eyes straight away and prepared himself for the worst.

“What do you mean? A boyfriend?”

Deep inside his heart, he was shaking and felt like his heart was going to explode at any time.

“Do you want to tell me that you’re having a boyfriend? Is that true?”

Seungyoon could feel that the car was moving slower before he opened up his eyes.

“Nae. I’m so sorry if…”

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner? You’re my only son. Are you even planning to hide the truth from me? Your own dad?”

Seungyoon immediately apologized and didn’t have the courage to even lift up his head.

“I’m so proud of you, my son!”

Am I not mistaken?

Did I hear it right?

Just before he could speak, his father continued.

“Thank you for coming out to me. And, have no worries. I would still love you nevertheless, as you’re my son anyway.”

Seungyoon could feel a heavy burden had been lifted off his shoulders.

For him, it was the best thing that ever happened in his life.
