OVERDOSE: Midnight MemoriesThe boys look at me. I hold my breath. Will I really do it? Next to me Minseok gazes me. I look up to see him nods his head. I shake my head lightly.
“We don’t have much time, Your Highness.” Suddenly Lu Han speaks. “Blood Moon won’t ever happen again in the near future…. You don’t have choice… The Ancient Spirits will come tomorrow.” As he stops explaining, the other boys look at me convincing me.
“Great.” I roll my eyes. “I don’t have any other choice. So…,”
“Really?” Sehun asks. I nod. “Get no choice.”
“Bring me the knife.” Minseok orders Sehun who nods right away and quickly flies to the kitchen. Not more than a minute he has been back bringing the knife. In horror I look at the knife and Minseok who holds it tight in his hand. “Be ready.” He looks at me.
“Wait…,” I hold his hand. “Don’t you have another way? Like, biting your own hand? Why using knife?”
“Vampires can’t bite their ownselves, Your Highness.” Myungsoo utters. “The sip of their own blood can create various effects. And, when things go crazy we can’t really handle them.”
I sigh. “Fine then…,” I nod. “Just do it like how you want.” I mutter finally. “After all I am just doing what you guys suggested.” I sigh.
Minseok laughs while slightly cutting his wrist. I can’t help jolting on my place. I see the blood dripping on his wrist. It’s red like the color of the red rose. I widely open my eyes when Minseok walks toward me and hands me his wrist. Confused, my eyes fix on him. “Drink it.” He orders.
“Eh… what?” I yelp silently.
“Drink it, Sarang…,” He orders, abruptly getting his wrist closer to my lips, and, by this force I can feel the cold liquid touches the plain skin of my lips. It’s… good. Unexpectedly it is good. Without realizing it, I have already the blood with the tip of my tongue. It tastes like some sweet water… no, it’s better than any juice for ever. It’s so fresh, and, when it reaches my throat, I can’t help feeling the sensation of exploding within me and delighting my system. I don’t know how but I suddenly feel that I’ll be able to do anything. I am strong and I am the best one. Those thoughts fill me… strangely. Slowly I feel the thirst of the blood. I want to sip it like forever. I do not want to stop. I can’t stop.
I won’t.
“Sarang…,” someone slowly calls my name, “… please stop…,” the sound begs me to stop.
How dare… I won’t stop….
“Sarang…,” Still. I am enjoying sipping the blood. But, in sudden, I can feel someone drags me away from the heaven-like-taste-blood. I growl while trying to get closer towards the red blood before my eyes glances at him. Minseok. He looks at me… wearily.
“Min… seok…,” I call, “sorry.” Lu Han stops holding me and let me walk towards Minseok. Without asking any permission I hug him. Minseok looks taken aback but he hugs me back. Uncounsciously I repeat saying ‘sorry’.
“It’s okay…,” He says. “I am fine…,”
“I am sorry…,” I cry, “it’s just too good.” Minseok doesn’t speak a word, instead he hugs me tighter, assuring me that everything’s okay.
