Broken Promise
I looked out at the window, watching the city streets pass by. Wow, here I was back in the Philippines, on my way to Hyeyoon’s home. It seemed like it was yesterday that the girls had encouraged me to come here whilst BIGBANG had their concert here.
I closed my eyes as if to relive the moment.
“You must go to him!” Chaerin encouraged as she jumped around the place.
“Yes! You should fly to the Phillipines whilst he is there!” Bom joined in with the excitement.
“Now that would be very special and memorable after so long without one another!” Minzy added.
“You’re right! Hyeyoon could quietly welcome Inbok and I when we arrive!” I agreed with them.
The girls smiled at me as we came together to form a group hug.
I opened my eyes to the sight of Manila in the very early morning. I was still in disbelief, I’m in the Phillipines to surprise my yeobo who is having a concert! How incredible!
Turning my attention to Inbok, I smiled at the sleeping toddler. My poor baby was super sleepy after the night flight. “Rough flight?” Asked Hyeyoon’s husband.
“Not really, just bothersome, especially for Inbok who doesn’t fly as much as me.” I told him, giving him my attention.
“It surprised me how he is sleeping! Uri Junnie would be very grumpy with us.” He chuckled.
“Oh, trust me, whilst we were in Incheon airport it was one big tantrum!”
“And then on the plane he was just sleep sleep and sleep?”
“Of course!” I laughed alongside him.
“It is amazing how much they tire themselves out!” He continued.
“And how much they can tire us out too!” I admitted.
“And yet we wouldn’t change it for anything!”
“I know! Isn’t it crazy?”
We continued gushing over our sons as we made our way to their home. He told me about the time Yeonjun babbled in Korean to a Filipina waitress, and how he got upset when the poor girl didn’t understand. It was such a cute yet funny story!
********(Later That Day)********
I sat Inbok next to me and got the foods ready to serve. “Jolly Spaghetti!!” He giggled.
“That’s right!” I smiled at him.
Of course, the first meal in the Philippines MUST be Jollibee! It never tastes better too!
It was lunchtime and with both my in-laws out of the home and with Yeonjun at kindergarden, I just couldn’t resist the opportunity! So we had almost snuck out of the house to the nearest Jollibee to eat! Although, it probably wasn’t so smart to bring the food back into the home… oopsie!
I served Inbok his special Jolly Spaghetti and sat down to enjoy my food. As I opened the box, the instant smell left me feeling queasy. I immediately closed the box.
No, not this again.
“Bwo? Nanay? Wae?” Inbok noticed.
“It’s nothing, I just remembered that App-App is coming today!” I told him.
He smiled at me before going to get another mouthful of spaghetti.
Great the one thing I really want makes me feel sick.
I got the leftover spaghetti and served myself some and ate it alongside Inbok, who kept making slurpy sounds. “You sound like an animal!” I .
“I’m just following you!”
“Ahh, then you are doing well.”
After lunch, I sat him down to watch some cartoons as I unpacked from our flight. It felt so weird to also be unpacking Inbok’s things, he never really travelled. Then again, we never took
